Highly recommend

I had the pleasure of working with FIR Construction on a refurbishment project, and I couldn't be more impressed. From the initial consultation to the final touches, their attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to quality were evident at every step.

The team blended modern design elements with the existing structure, breathing new life into our space while preserving it's character. Their ability to manage the project efficiently, stay on budget, and meet deadlines was truly remarkable.

What stood out the most was their collaborative approach and clear communication, making the entire process stress free and actually enjoyable.

I highly recommend FIR Construction for any project. You'll be in excellent hands.

Fairness, Inclusion, and Respect), falls short on their most recent public Facebook post 😡

EDITED TO ADD - Please see the Google reviews for this company where you will see my initial disappointed response to the post and screenshots of FIR Constructions replies. AT NO POINT did the company advise they reached out to the potential applicant despite the fluffy reply below. Kate - Director at FIR CONSTRUCTION is missing the point. A PUBLIC BELITTLING ON FACEBOOK is NOT professional, no matter how you dress it up!

Sadly (The "FIR" in FIR Construction stands for Fairness, Inclusion, and Respect), falls short on their most recent public Facebook post “ How not to apply for a job...
Inbox today: "I am interested kn the admin role"
That’s it. That’s the email.
No name. No resume. Not even a vowel check on "kn."
Listen, we love brevity but this isn’t a job application, it’s a vague prophecy.
If you're applying for a role, especially admin, here’s a wild idea:
- Say hello.
- Attach a resume. Although we are generally against this as it doesnt tell us about you as a person.
- Mention why you’re a fit.
- Spell things correctly.
Maybe even… sound like a human?
Let’s raise the bar, people or at least hit send after proofreading.

Belittling a potential applicant for a job within this company falls short of their own “Fairness, Inclusion, and Respect” values on this occasion. Regarding their reply saying about the people they employ with Cerebral Palsy / Down Syndrome, isn’t good enough! THERE SHOULD BE INCLUSION FOR ALL!!! This is a company I have been recommending and unfortunately their lack of accountability on this occasion means that I am unable to recommend them anymore.
FIR Construction pride themselves on being a female led company which is amazing HOWEVER, their negative / moaning posts on their Facebook page shows what “some” women are categorised for (MOANING!).
I hold a lot of disappointment for “Kate - Director of FIR Construction”. A business depends on much more than empty words! A simple, I got it wrong for belittling the potential applicant would have been a more respectful reply.

Reply from FIR Construction Limited

Good evening Tammy,

I'm sorry to hear that our recent posts came across as "moaning" and that our efforts to be inclusive of individuals with cerebral palsy and Down syndrome in our recruitment process "isn't good enough," despite the broader positive initiatives we've undertaken. It’s disappointing that this led to a negative review on Trustpilot, but we genuinely appreciate all feedback - positive and critical.

It’s important to remember that a single post or comment rarely tells the full story. What isn’t always visible are the actions behind the scenes like our response to the candidate, where we asked if any adjustments were needed, as none had been disclosed. While we strive to be as accommodating as possible, we’re not mind readers and can only support what we’re made aware of. We also reminded the candidate, as we do in all our hiring communications, that to provide the best support, we need a basic understanding of individual circumstances (such as medical needs or caregiving responsibilities). This is something you may recall from previous responses and our job postings.

We value transparency and open dialogue. We understand that not everyone will agree with us all the time and that’s okay. Disagreement is welcome; silence is not. Constructive questions, challenges, and even pushback help us improve.

While we know we can't please everyone, we’re always open to meaningful conversation. My invitation to talk, whether in person or over the phone, still stands. Sometimes, a conversation can provide clarity that messages alone can’t.

Wishing you a pleasant rest of the weekend.

Kate - Director of FIR Construction
