We held a wine tasting event for a 50th birthday at Penarth Road Fine Wines. Johnathan gave us a really varied and interesting selection of wines to try and we completed some tasting notes. He was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Fine Wines Direct for their wine selection and pricing.

Our team recently had the pleasure of attending a wine tasting event with Fine Wines Direct and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Jonathan (from Fine wines Direct) was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and approachable making everyone feel comfortable - even those of us who are complete novices when it comes to wine.

The selection of wines was fantastic, offering a variety of flavours and styles that kept the tasting engaging and educational. Each wine was presented with insightful commentary about its origin and tasting notes which sparked great conversations among our team.

The atmosphere was welcoming and fun, providing the perfect setting for team bonding. Everyone left with new knowledge, some personal favourites and lots of laughs along the way.

Jonathan's professionalism, expertise and passion for wine truly made our team tasting a memorable and enjoyable experience.

I placed my first order yesterday (20 February) and it got delivered 24 hours later. I specifically wanted the Marques de Caceres double magnums (300cl) which they were selling for an exceptionally good price. I also bought some Pinot Noir, which generally I would never buy, but they had a decent label at a very good price so I was happy to give it a go. I can't fault either the service or the value for money.

Used Fine Wines Direct for the first time. Really impressed with range of wines available and prices.Delivery was very very quick.

Sometimes it takes a bit extra customer service to show a supplier cares about the customer experience as much as their products. In my case a testing wine source/grape/vintage/ would have been a challenge to any normal regular delivery outline. HOWEVER once the actual 'do-able' dates were known, I got a very reassuring call direct from Fine Wine Direct with plan 'B' (not far off Plan 'A') for safe and secure delivery of the exact wine I ordered. The order has now been completed confirming that Fine Wine Direct are prepared to go that extra mile to ensure a positive customer experience.

Enjoy going to fine wines, the staff are always Friendly and informative.

Great selection of wines, very positive to see lots of wines for all budgets.

So now, 18 months after my posting this company an honest but poor review they complain, saying it breaches Personal Data rules as I named the inept customer service agent that offered me bad service.
His initials are JT.
I change my review as suggested and I get a gaslighting letter from him, again blaming both myself and his own chosen courier for the non-delivery instead of admitting their own system was to blame for the wine I paid for not being delivered and me not being promptly refunded.
I would prefer to have nothing more to do with this company but if they insist I change my review ( which I did, at their request ) then try and gaslight me about what happened 18 months ago I have little choice but to point this out.
I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
You can get better deals on wine that you have heard of (rather than obscure stuff you have not) at Waitrose, Tesco et al who use their own careful and reliable drivers to deliver, using prearranged convenient time slots.
Go there instead.

I've been regularly attending tastings at Fine Wines Direct UK for years and never not had an exceptional experience, so I thought it's about time I leave a glowing review!

Fine Wines Direct is an independent importer of exquisite wines from across the globe. The company has longstanding relationships with vineyard owners, and so is able to offer tastings at which you can meet the producers from New Zealand to Spain, from Australia to Wales, from South Africa to France, and many more! These tastings make the world of wine more accessible by being able to sample a variety of exciting wines and learn so much, which is something I personally love. I'm sure these tastings and conversations with the team also played a huge part in me being able to pass my WSET Level 3 and Certified Sherry Wine Specialist exams!

I can't speak highly enough of the team at Fine Wines Direct UK. Every time I walk in through the doors, I am greeted with a warm welcome and made to feel at home, which, for someone who struggles with crippling anxiety, means more than I can say. Notably Jon, Neil, Hayley, Kate and all the staff I've met are always professional, warm, kind, attentive, entertaining, generous, as well as highly knowledgeable and passionate about the wines they sell.

Brilliant and really friendly business - so lucky that it's local to me. Have been to quite a few wine tasting events here (most recently for South African and Welsh wines) and each have been interesting, generous and well organised. The tasting room (including vinomatic!) is gorgeous.
A great place to pop into for a special bottle, or just something fun for the weekend - and always have brilliant service from the team, especially Jon who fronts the shop. Definitely my fav wine shop out of a strong selection in Cardiff.

Happened to pop in by chance and had really good customer service and recommendations. Had a glass of wine to try too, definitely worth visiting if you like your wines!

I've been buying our wine from Fine Wines Direct UK in Cardiff for several years now. I'm not a huge wine fan, but with their advice, I've found a few wines that I really enjoy with a meal on family occasions, mostly from their Spanish range although they stock from producers worldwide. A fabulous shopping experience in a stunning tasting room. Worth a visit!

Always amazing selection, consistently for 10+ yrs. Worth a visit in person to take it all in. Highly recommended.

Very good, broad selection of wine from the classics to the New World, including a range of Welsh wines and spirits. Great customer service from Jon, Neil and the crew. Recent refurbishment makes it a very pleasant venue for tastings, as well as having an enomatic machine on site with a selection of their wines available to taste.

I mistakenly left a (bad) review for a similarly named company, and received a very polite clarification from Jonathon.

I am very happy to correct my mistake.
