Not fit to stay!
finestay.co.uk ltd was dissolved in 2018. This company is now C&M Apartments Ltd.
Beware! The Finestay.co.uk website clearly uses the Property Redress Scheme and ICO. logos to promote their business on the website and in emails. Gives the impression of being trustworthy. BOTH of these organisations can and have confirmed that finestay.co.uk is NOT a member and is therefore using their logos fraudulently. They are investigating. As are Trading Standards.
Booked a premium serviced apartment, Ziggurat House, St Albans, for a premium price for an extended period. Was asked to pay full amount upfront but then agreed to payment on a monthly basis. I accepted an invoice for first 38 days and paid by bank transfer.
On arrival, I discovered the apartment was not as advertised. Lots of maintenance and general upkeep issues, possible safety concerns with an uncovered smoke detector. Dirty and very poorly cleaned. Dirty, urine stained mattress, dirty pillows and mattress cover and a dirty, old, stained duvet. Broken shower control and shower head, rusty and dirty towel rail, dirty bins, dirty and stained carpets, possibly blood. Curtains hanging off. Very dirty kitchen and a syringe at side of sink! The hoover was jammed with dust and filth. The guaranteed parking space was being used by someone else. Contacted Chris Musto immediately and the blame was put on me due to my early check in request, 11.a.m. along with other excuses. A one night hotel stay was offered while attempts were made to resolve the cleaning and maintenance issues.
On return the next day, whilst a couple of the issues were resolved, so much was still dirty and in a poor state. Contacted Chris to advise that I would not be staying there and asked for a refund. This request was denied repeatedly and I was left with no option but to stay in the apartment. However, I chose to stay the first week at a local Travelodge and then I spent the weekend cleaning and sorting the apartment to try to make it habitable. My out of pocket expenses included, the hotel stay, buying clean and decent bedlinen, towels, cleaning products, a kettle, cutlery and even a hoover! I gave Chris the two weeks notice his t’s and c’s requested to say I would not be staying beyond the first three weeks and hoped he would at least give me a partial refund, but he refused.
Please note, the apartment is close to a train line and during the day, frequent and fast trains thunder past, very noisy! Although less frequent, they thunder past throughout the night too!
The apartment was cold, and I was advised not to adjust the preset temperature controls.
