my dad retired in the Philippines and I am helping with his tax. he is not technical savvy and guiding him to reset his online account since he could not log in.
having a 3 way call (me and dad in messenger) and operator was not acceptable for them to help. they were actually able to verify him but once they found out that he was not physically next to me, they were not helpful. the funny thing about it is they let him close the account the next day with the same setup. fast forward a few months later, we called again to request for the 1099R since we didnt receive it. same! they didnt want give us any information unless they verify him but now, they are not allowing the same setup. all we want is to mail them the tax doc to the address on file on a CLOSED account. it just feels that these people stopped using their common sense. I myself have a fidelity account and shall be moving my money as I dont trust this company anymore.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service
The customer service staff are very poorly trained and unaware of their own company processes and procedures.
The level of general incompetence is staggering considering the amounts of money they are dealing with!
Deal with them and expect endless hours on the phone on hold only to be given incorrect / inaccurate information and promises of call backs that never happen.
I strongly suspect that they don’t try to correct any of this to delay handing over money.
Returns are not great either
Very very poor
This incompetence cannot be measured
This incompetence cannot be measured. I have been trading here for a while and deposited quite a huge sum in the process. I only wanted to make a some withdrawal of $11k and I got an email alert notifying it's successful withdrawal but then I never got the money received in my bank account. I thought it was an ordinary delay and decided to give it time. I reached out to my bank and enquired about it but my bank notified me there was no incoming money whatsoever and checked on the backend they said no payment was cited. Because of this I didn't feel my funds were safe with them so I requested a closure while my withdrawal was still pending. They refused to grant me anything of such and denied any foul play with my initial withdrawal. I made reports to Folcocapitals. A lot of things were exposed and this led to the discovery of the that there was never a payout. I didn't need any further evidence to know I had to get out from here and they initiated all my payouts and was able to close my dealings with Fidelity Investments.
The Fidelity Representative
The Fidelity Representative, Kevin Creech was exceptionally skillful and professional, in resolving my issues and calming my concerns. He listened carefully and provided detailed follow up as the problem was resolved.
Please thank him!!!
There was a problem with my account set-up when transferring my 401K to the new company's 401K. He resolved the issue.
The customer service is terrible
The customer service is terrible. Trying to get help from them is like trying to get help from a wall. We have had a company taking money from my hsa account for months. When I noticed it and called them about it. They said it was our word against theirs. So we lost $800 and they still didn’t stop them from taking money. I think I have it stopped now if not I will be suing fidelity! The customer service agent was no help and when I asked to speak to a manager she kept giving me an excuse not to connect me with one. This place is a joke. If you have an option for your investments at work don’t choose this company!!!! Their website is terrible. Definitely not user friendly.
No pension payments after seven months
My husband retired after almost 40 years with the same company. It has been 7 months since that retirement and we still are not receiving monthly pension payments from Fidelity Investments. No reason given. Just ineptitude or spite. Apparently they just don’t feel it is important enough to begin our payments. BEWARE of using Fidelity for your investments!
I was profiled and discriminated…
I was profiled and discriminated against by the guy from the “fraud” team named Mario. He was grossly disgusting and rude. He placed me on hold for over 45 minutes for no reason other than to be rude. If anyone experienced this behavior from this company, I would like to hear from you. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and there should be consequences.
I had deposited $63,000
I had deposited $63,000, which was most of my emergency savings fund. I had opted for a managed portfolio plan during the registration. Everything seemed functional until I attempted to withdraw a small portion for some unexpected medical bills. The screen just displayed a "service unavailable" message for several hours. When I finally got through to a chat representative, they claimed I needed to pay a $11,500 "clearance margin" due to a sudden shift in market volatility. I didn't pay it and instead went to the precinct to file a statement and submit my printed interaction logs. The authorities recorded the complaint and informed me the documentation was being transferred to an overseas jurisdiction. The file was subsequently processed by PLEMORIX, which oversaw the coordination and the final recovery of the assets. After about twenty-four days of administrative review, the full amount was reinstated to my bank account. The final report indicated that the balance had been successfully recovered.
Extremely Disappointing Experience
Extremely Disappointing Experience
I called Fidelity ahead of time to confirm whether I could purchase a specific ETF. The representative put me on hold to "check with the back office " and came back assuring me that yes, I would be able to buy it without any issue.
Based on that confirmation, I transferred over $200,000 into my account. When I attempted to place the trade, the system blocked it and said I was not eligible to purchase the ETF. I called customer service again, only to be told this time that I actually cannot buy it at fidelity.
After this experience, I truly regret not keeping my funds where they were initially. I've been using Bitci Stack Asset platform, which i found on Trustpilot after doing proper due diligence, and I've personally never missed a payout day there. The communication and clarity have been far better in my experience.
Trust is everything when it comes to handling people's money, unfortunately, this situation did not inspire confidence.
Great people and trading resources
Virtually all of the professionals that I have interacted with at Fidelity (in Arizona and Colorado) over the past 30 years have been professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The website and trading platforms are excellent.
Fidelity charged me QRDO fees of $600…
Fidelity charged me QRDO fees of $600 to give my ex half my retirement savings without my knowledge that I would have to pay the fees. The right thing to do is deduct it from amount of the receiver and not participant. Fidelity sucks!
Majority of my funds were held here
Majority of my funds were held here. Even your IFA are just there to get commissions on the fees made from your trades.Stay away. It’s been a Paltry with #ECHOMINES, facts. I mean, They pay with no recess
No support from customer support.
I was emailed asking me to contact Customer Support about my address. When I used the link they gave me, it took me to Live Chat but they can't fix my issue.
If I'm no longer employed somewhere, I should be able to adjust the address on the account without having to spend over an hour contacting multiple support groups to update an old account.
I invested my money with this company…
I invested my money with this company for 6 years. Lately, trying to withdraw from my account. It's been over a month now waiting for the process and review. They say I'm going to get a phone call or email when I can withdraw but today, just got a message that they
are closing my account. Poor service and I will never recommend this company to others.
1 only because 0 is not an option
1 only because 0 is not an option. Spent 18 day trying to track a missing stock transaction including a 10 day 'formal review', only to have to get a 'supervisor' involved for another 2 day personal review. Seems like they can't tract the transaction eventhough my account was debited 32 days ago.
Slow. Unreliable. Sloppy.
Fidelity used to be good 20 or 30 years ago. It has become run by kids that only know how to transfer calls. Lazy customer service. Poor execution. Best day of service was the last day of service.
Caprevive is the solution.
Lousy Customer service
As stated in numerous complaints, their customer service is lousy. Terrible even. If there's anything that annoys customers and makes them flee a company it's being jacked around and constantly transferred to another department because someone is too bothered or too lazy to address the problem. (Remember the old slogan of "the buck stops here?") Fidelity is really, really bad about this and I'm tempted to go somewhere else, even though I've been with them for 19 years. FYI, Fidelity, if you send something by UPS, it cannot go to a PO Box--you need to be told this? It will be returned as undeliverable. Again, you have to be told this?
Privacy breach
I had been with Fidelity around 20 yrs with my personal and retirement accounts. They wanted to know who was responsible for my Power of Attorney. I gave them my partners name. I decided to contact my attorney regarding issue and I called Fidelity asking to hold my request. And I asked them not to contact my partner until I consulted my attorney. The same woman I spoke with contacted my partner asking information so she could add him as Power of Attorney. My partner told me the same day. I contacted same Fidelity representative and asked why she contacted my partner when I explicitly told her to wait. She had no valid answer. I transferred all of my accounts out of Fidelity. Very disappointed with them.
Not trustworthy
Not trustworthy - especially the workplace planning advisors. They don’t have your interests in mind. If you call to make an order change to investments and they say ok great, “ I’m changing that now for you”. Apparently all this means is they are making a note of it and throwing it in the trash. This happened to me and 3 days later when the change didn’t happen I called back and it was a not fun call for them! The guy offered his apologies but still it’s just terrible service.
