An Unforgettable, Life-Changing Safari with Fair Trade Safaris
I recently returned from a trip to Kenya with Fair Trade Safaris, and I can honestly say it was a profound and life-changing experience. From start to finish, the entire trip was flawlessly organized and exceeded all of my expectations.
While I don't remember the specific names of all the lodges, the accommodations were superb. Each place felt like a resort, with a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere that was perfect for relaxing after a full day of game drives.
The wildlife viewing was simply incredible. We had so many memorable sightings, including a rhino with her baby, majestic elephants, and a lion. The absolute highlight was getting to witness multiple crossings of the Great Migration—a truly breathtaking spectacle that you have to see to believe. I was left with a profound sense of awe at the sheer number of animals, both big and small, that we saw.
A huge part of what made this trip so special were our two guides. They were not only incredibly friendly and welcoming, but also so knowledgeable about the animals, the ecosystem, and the culture. They went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience, and their passion for what they do was infectious.
What makes Fair Trade Safaris truly stand out is their mission. I was particularly impressed to learn that they are a socially conscious company that donates 100% of their profits to wildlife conservation and community development initiatives. This commitment made the experience even more meaningful, as it felt like my trip was directly contributing to a greater purpose.
I truly wish everyone could have the opportunity to go on a trip like this. I highly recommend Fair Trade Safaris to anyone looking for a truly authentic and unforgettable adventure with a purpose.
Excellent!
I used Fair Trade Safaris recently in and around Cape Town and was very happy with their services. All the guides / drivers were professional and guided according to our interests. They were also very knowledgable that added to our experiences.

It was our second trip in two years and like the first was well managed. We had a great time and even brought our daughter who also enjoyed the trip immensely. The accommodations were very nice and the guides went above and beyond! Would highly recommend them.
Easy peasy safari
This is our second safari with Fair Trade. As before, this was a 5 star experience. Simply, it's plug and play. Meaning, we gave them our party size, the ages of the people traveling, the number of days we would be in Africa, and what we wanted to experience. They created an itinerary and a complete package. Once we landed, we had nothing to worry about: everything was taken care of and we had not a worry in the world. The logistics (lodging, travel, food, staff, etc) were perfect and everything went as planned. Most importantly, Fair Trade staff were available anytime. I highly recommend using Fair Trade for your safari. Not only are they organized and deliver on their promises, they also donate all their profits to the local people on the ground. That is very important.
Our Africa Trip - 2025
Fair Trade Safaris helped plan our trip to Africa during May 20-June 3, 2025. We were very pleased with them. From the assistance putting together our itineraries, to the quality of the lodging, tours, etc., we were exceptionally happy with them. Not only did they help guide our planning, they stayed in touch with us throughout the trip to ensure everything was proceeding smoothly. Also, they went above and beyond to help us resolve an issue that arose with having our wine shipped to the US from one of our stops. For anyone planning to go to Africa to enjoy the scenery, wildlife, wine region, etc., I would highly recommend Fair Trade Safaris.
This is the second time we have used…
This is the second time we have used Fair Trade Safaris for our South African adventures. And once again, it was PERFECTION! The lodging, guides, coordination, experiences, drivers, flights, etc were organized perfectly and everyone went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. I am in the airport, on my way home, writing this review…and simultaneously emailing Fair Trade Safaris to plan our next trip.
Kenyan Safari
We were a party of 10 and Fair Trade Safaris (FTS) coordinated a video call before we left to ensure we knew what to expect and what to bring. From the airport transfers, hotels and guides themselves we could not have asked for a better experience. Our guides especially were tireless, committed to showing us the best experience possible, and educating us on the history, animals, people and the land itself. I highly recommend FTS.
Fair Trade Safaris did a great job
We travel often and like to plan our own trips, but when trying to figure out where to begin with an African safari, we knew we would need expert advice. We were drawn to Fair Trade Safaris based on their commitment to African animal conservation and to the local communities. We chose Tanzania in order to see the Great Migration in June and July.
Our family of four (two teenagers) first visited Tarangire National Park, a gem with beautiful baobab trees and animals left and right. Elephants were especially prolific. Next was the Ngorongoro Crater which is an absolute necessity in any Tanzanian itinerary. The landscape was stunning and the animals were mesmerizing. The Ngorongoro Farm House was among our favorite stays with delicious food and inviting accommodations.
We then visited Serengeti National Park and stayed in the Kati Kati tented camp which was so authentic and the people were so nice and engaging. The food was tasty and we enjoyed “glamping” with giraffes and zebras right outside our tents. Finally, we visited western Serengeti and saw the Great Migration. It was so moving and unbelievable, there were even some tears shed! It’s exactly as you see it on National Geographic.
Josephat, our fabulous guide, was several notches above other guides. He spotted animals in trees far away that we couldn’t see without binoculars. He even had to show other tour guides where animals were hiding on many occasions. One day he talked with other tour guides that were searching for a group of cheetahs seen earlier in the day by other guides. He used his knowledge of their behavior and searched in a few remote spots and found the group of five cheetahs. We met other tourists at the hotel that night that asked if we ever found the cheetahs and we replied in the affirmative. They were disappointed because their tour guide never found them.
Thank you to Dianah and Saurabh for helping us with our itinerary and logistics. We had a wonderful time and hope to visit Africa again.
Sincerely,
Eric, Gwen, Jenna and Caroline Peterson
Thank you Fair Trade for an amazing adventure!
Fair Trade Safaris put together another memorable safari experience for me, my husband, and our friends. We love the national parks we visited in Uganda and Tanzania. Seeing wildlife roam freely always makes my heart feel full. It is such an awe inspiring experience viewing such beauty in our world.
The Fair Trade team made sure our travels went smoothly. We were greated in Kigali, Rwanda, and Arusha, Tanzania, by our drivers who took such good care of us. Our personal requests were always granted. I personally appreciated our drivers knowledge of the bird species that caught my eye during our travels.
I would highly recommend Fair Trade Safaris. They have lived and worked in many of the countries they include in their safaris. They take great care in fostering a commitment to conservation. They seek to empower the local communities by including cultural experiences in the itinerary.
Thank you Saurabh, Diana, and team, for taking such good care of us! Stephanie Seay
Superb safari & tour!
The team did a fantastic job in customizing our trip to Africa. We threw them lots of curveballs, and they kept coming up with answers. The safari lodge was superb, the hotels in Jo-burg, Vic Falls, CPT were beautiful, the transfers flawless...We had a truly memorable vacation. Can't wait to return to Africa on another trip planned by Fair Trade Safaris!
Africa was amazing with Fair Trade’s help
We had the most amazing experience on our African safari with Fair Trade Safaris. It was truly life-changing. We’re so thankful that all of the private transportation and boutique accommodations, it was all better than expected. Everything was set up so nicely and all of our drivers and the hospitality staff were so nice. The food was amazing everywhere we went. We would never have a guessed to stay at some of those places. We really enjoyed being able to see the sights in Johannesburg before heading out to the game reserve. The culture was amazing, the animals were amazing, and the scenery was breathtaking. Seeing the Big 5 five and the Little 5 and the Ugly 5 were truly a treat. It was amazing to see all of those animals in their own environment without cages and just living off the land and each other. I would definitely recommend going to see Victoria Falls if you have a chance. Can’t wait to go back!
Unforgettable!!!
My husband I and recently returned from our long-awaited trip to Rwanda and Tanzania. We were amazed by the service provided by our guides at every point. Even at our last stop in Zanzibar where we would be relaxing without a guide, it looked like it would have been easy to be forgotten or for mistakes to be made but everything happened like clockwork.
We were especially moved by our experience in Rwanda, of course, the gorillas were an experience of a lifetime, but Egide gave a very personal tour of his country and its recent history in both Kigali and as we drove through the countryside to our mountain destination. We are still thinking deeply about what we learned.
In Tanzania, we met Josephat, and honestly, it was going to be difficult to match the high expectations set by Egide. It wasn’t long before he won us over with his dry sense of humor and his calm demeanor matched with an amazing ability to find the best viewing spot regardless of how many vehicles were racing to the same place. We were sad to say goodbye on the last morning.
Of course, we have hundreds of amazing pictures of animals but I am certain that what will stay with us is our memories of the people we met, the daily life we observed on our drives, and the deeper understanding we have of the two countries so far away.
We purchased this donated trip at a fundraiser in the fall of 2019 and due to Covid, our travel was postponed until July 2022. Saurabh responded to all of our questions and concerns through all of the craziness that Covid brought to the planning process. It was an adventure from the start and I know we would not have enjoyed the process nearly as much if we hadn’t had the good fortune of planning this trip with Saurabh and traveling with Fair Trade Safaris.
Our trip with Fair Trade Safaris was magical…
Our trip with Fair Trade Safaris was life changing! Saurabh and the entire FTS team made sure that we had a complete itinerary all set before our trip and also helped us with our flights. We had little anxiety about our trip because we had so much faith in their team about how everything was going to be handled and they did not disappoint. We really liked how they set us up with going to Johannesburg first and then went on to see Victoria Falls, and Botswana and then on to Krueger to the private game reserve. The hospitality was the best part from everyone we had helping us. The boutique hotels and lodges that they set us up at were amazing and we would have never known to go to those. So thankful and can't wait to go back!
Our trip to Tanzania was magical
Our trip to Tanzania was magical! Our guide, Josephat, was very knowledgeable, punctual and flexible. He made sure he showed us the 'big 5' and the 'great migration' while on our safari game drives. Our lodges/tents were an amazing experience, with very friendly & hospitable staff.
A+ Rating
From planning to actual trip, this was one of the smoothest experience of my life! Kudos to Saurabh Khetrapal, he delivered big time. All his advice was on point and tailored it to perfection for my family needs.
Josephat our safari guide is a genius! No words to describe his abilities in understanding what the animals will do.
Stay and vegetarian Food at all the places rocked. Spectacular experience with spectacular service.
Keep up the great work. Beautiful Tanzania needs more people like you to get tourists like me to experience it.
Spectacular trip!
I always wanted to experience the safari and see my favorite animals up-close and personal. There might be other travel agencies out there but by far Fair Trade is the most dependable, professional, and experienced Luxury Safari agency. The fair Trade made the entire process extremely easy for me and made sure I get the best service throughout my stay. It was a solo trip for me, and I felt completely safe, and they really made me feel at home. Africa is a beautiful country, and I was amazed to visit few parts of this world and see Tanzania. It is a beautiful country, and it does feel like a small piece of heaven on earth. Arusha is beautiful and I saw these three parks during my stay. I had an amazing time at the Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti national park and at Lake Manyara park. I cannot wait to go back to see South Africa in future. Thank You Fair Trade for your excellent service and making this trip a memorable for me. I am your permanent client!

Incredible Experience
What an incredible experience! We traveled to Tanzania for a 12 day trip planned by Fair Trade Safari’s and couldn’t be happier!
