Selling my bike on fb marketplace and a ‘potential buyer’ sent me a link to a website to get a VIN check done. She was insisting I used this to do a full report as her dad wasn’t going to let her buy the bike without it. I told her the bikes reg so she could do the check herself. If she was so bothered she could pay the £20. Because she kept going on that I needed to the check, relentlessly, it made me think something wasn’t right. I did a search of the alleged company expertvinaudit.co.uk, then found the reviews on trustpilot where others had had the same experience. She said I could also use getvininfo.co.uk. Scammers.

Went through the process and spent 20 quid. All I got was an email recipt saying I had spent money. Do not trust

Tried to sell car on FB marketplace. Buyer seemed suspicious and was adamant that I had to use this website to pay for a check. Just seems extremely sus. Don’t trust it.
