My group of 6 had an amazing time! The owner of Experiental Travel greeted us at the airport and made each and every day special. The trip was seamless with unique surprises along the way that were not in our itinerary. We are going back and i would not trust this trip with anyone else.

From start to finish, our group felt well taken care of. The logistics were seamless, with excellent communication and a very professional and knowledgeable staff. The guides/drivers knew so much about Ngorongoro that it felt like we had a mini-course on zoology!
The charted jet, safari vehicles and hotel were all clean, comfortable and full of snacks. I would definitely use this company to book another excursion!

Gumbo and his Experiential Travel team are top notch! Our two day safari excursion was nothing short of spectacular. Every single detail was planned impeccably and all the guests were comfortable throughout the entire journey.

The planning was easy, as Gumbo’s team did most of the work beforehand based on our preferences. They provided suggestions on which parts of the Serengeti to visit to maximize on wildlife viewing.

They essentially booked everything - the price was all inclusive (charter flight, safari, lodging a meals).

We went NDutu plain and Ngorongoro crater. Stayed at the lovely Serena Lodge in the crater.

We saw the big 5 (including leopard and black rhino!). We saw cheetahs, elephants, hyenas and more! We witnessed a hyena pack hunting, which was cool. The guides were knowledgeable and made sure we saw as much wildlife as possible while still making sure we were comfortable.

A truly 5 star experience! Would only recommend using them for family and friends!

Very well organized and worry free trip. The driver was very knowledgeable about the animals.

The reception, care and planning of the Experience team was exceptional. We were made to feel like an integral part of Mother Africa and the people and tribes we visited with also gave us a sense of belonging and satisfaction. On the safari trip, the tour guides were awesome their excitement fueled our own. Great experience!!!

This trip to Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar was truly a transformational and immersive experiential l The professionalism, the attentional to detail, the awesome and highly informative tour leaders and drivers enriched the experience richly. The scope of activities, the hotels, lodges and “glamping “ site was second to none. I will never forget the sunset on the Awewngwti nor a very personal experience i had with the Datoga women. This trip healed a part of me that is did not know needed it. I am deeply grateful!

This was an experience of a lifetime! Traveling from Kenya,Tanzania and Zanzibar, we celebrated a journey together interacting with three Indigeneous tribes, facing the vast unfettered Serengeti wilderness and welcoming lions, cheetahs, giraffes and elephants passing close but in safe proximity to our jeep. The breathtaking views and highs and lows of the Ngoronoro caldera’s splendor cannot be captured in words. The delicious food, tribal dancing and direct cross cultural communications with the Hadzabe, Datooga and Maasai tribes and our fabulous guides raised my consciousness to an ancestral experience that is incomparable. I've traveled to many regions throughout Africa, Europe and Asia but East Africa is unique! You will not be disappointed!

Already the fourth year corporate with Experiential Travel Africa and the second time for me be in Tanzania. I could say it was the best experience for me in Tanzania! Incredible service by Gumbo and team on our 5-person safari in Ndutu, Ngorongoro crater, Olduvai Gorge and Serengeti. Wonderful 'glamping' style accommodations, great transport and excellent guiding. Amazing wildlife experience as well - we saw the Big 5 plus a beautiful mother-daughter pair of Cheetah, and much, much more. Highly recommended.

This is the second review I have written for Gumbo and Experiential travel. We had Gumbo arrange our total trip to Tanzania in 2017. We were so pleased with our tour we have returned using Gumbo again. Not only is Gumbo wonderful at making the arrangements but he has always found lovely places to stay. The best part of this trip was having Gumbo as our tour guide along with Andrew. These 2 men seem to know so much information about the animals we are seeing but also the geology of the area and the flora.

What an amazing safari we have had at Lake Manyara then onwards to Ngorongoro and Ndutu area a side that I have not been before but all this due to the excellent advice by Gumbo whose exceptional knowledge made our safari a dream come true
We were so blessed to have his company also the care and safety driving by Andrew made us have a very relaxed journey.

I recently had the pleasure of spending several spectacular days touring East Africa with the team from Experiential Travel Africa as part of a tour organized by Overton Travel. It was one of the best trips of my life. The trip was part adventure, part educational, and part cultural which is everything needed to make for a memorable trip.

I can’t rave enough about the Experiential Travel Africa team and how well they cared for our group while we were there. Andrew—our guide, confidant, and travel companion—deserves a standing ovation👏🏾👏🏾! He was extremely knowledgeable about the African tribes (Maasai, Hadzabe, and Datooga) that we saw, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater that I felt like we were in our own personalized classroom. He was also kind, generous, and patient which I am sure was not easy with a jeep full of talkative women, but he handled it with grace.

The entire Experiential Travel Africa team mirrored their CEO’s spirit—gentle, adventurous, and committed to sharing the beauty of their country. Their care extended beyond logistics; it was about fostering connections. I have already started conversations with my cousins about visiting Tanzania again (and hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro) for our 2026 trip and using the services of Gumbo and his team.

Experiential Travel organized our family trip to Tanzania from A to Z. Every detail of the trip was just perfect. Gumbo Mhandeni and his team went beyond and above to give us tthe most wonderful experiences and make us feel very comfortable on the way. We saw the big 5 close up and many, many more.The crossing of the wildebeest of the Mara river was spectacular. We ended our trip relaxing in Zanzibar and enjoying a water safari. A big thanks to Gumbo and his extensive team. We will be recommending Experiential Travel Africa to friends and family.

We had a wonderful trip to Tanzania that was curated by Gumbo and the team at Experiential Travel Africa. We had a multigenerational group and many places to visit in a short-ish time, but each stop and part of our travel was seamless. We had so many wonderful experiences, and when we requested a trip that was part cultural/part safari, the team crafted the perfect itinerary for our group. Hotels were gorgeous and each visit was wonderful. The safari guides, Leo and Rama, were especially awesome. 10/10 definitely recommend ETA and will work with them again for sure!

Experiential Travel Africa provides effortless, engaging, immersive experiences. Their emphasis on highly trained and qualified guides is evident from the beginning. Gumbo and his team know their country well and utilize their expertise to make dream trips come true! Leo, our safari driver and guide, was amazing - he let us set the pace and provided in-depth information on all the wildlife we encountered. I had asked for an additional focus on birds and he and Gumbo delivered! They were adept at spotting and identifying 97 life birds for me! After our safari, we headed to the highlight of the trip for me: Gombe National Park to trek with chimpanzees! This was all I dreamed it could be and I can't recommend it enough to those who have followed Jane Goodall's research with Gombe's chimps. Gumbo's connections with Jane's environmental work made the trip extra meaningful. ETA chose the only lodge within the park for our stay and it was an absolute delight. A gorilla trek in Rwanda was our final adventure and again, ETA made the arrangements and accompanied us on our travels to Volcano National Park. We spent the trek laughing often with Gumbo, who we now regard as a friend. I highly recommend Experiential Travel Africa! Rest assured, the team will take care of you!

Gumbo organized everything perfectly and everything was amazing! Our guides and drivers were all very nice and helpful. I will definitely go to Africa again with the help of Experiential Travel Africa!

Gumbo made my initial trip to Africa a truly remarkable and memorable one. Every single aspect of the trip was meticulously planned, from the initial meet and greet as soon as we cleared immigration at JRO, to the moment we were flying out of Zanzibar. I traveled with a family of 8, consisting of two senior citizens and a toddler. Everyone was well taken care of. We visited Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, and Zanzibar. Gumbo's arrangement of accommodations, drivers, and guides was absolutely perfect. Would DEFINITELY recommend Gumbo and his team at Experiential Travel.

Gumbo and Adam did a great job in showing our group of 23 from the Holland America Grand Africa cruise a great tour of Zanzibar including a really great lunch at a reasonable price! Every one of our large group enjoyed the tour and felt well cared for. The afternoon was hot and humid, but Gumbo provided options to ensure that all were happy with the tour!
