My first time using Expatfile
My first time using Expatfile - I have been using another website for many years and finally switched. I was behind in my returns and managed to file 2 returns within about 15 minutes! I couldn't believe it! I also got instant feedback via email from a representative when I had a question. Thank you guys!

Certain UI features are absent or terribly confusing
The options for filing appear sometime early in the process. I guess I didn't choose the correct one for FBAR/FATCA filing and so after spending hours entering data I lost all my work. A truly miserable user experience. Many things are excellent about the system, but certain features are really poor.
Another poor feature is that the ability to file for October extension is not readily available, sometimes not at all, sometimes for a few days, and easily missed. Why such a sophisticated system with some much expert knowledge has such a poor UI is beyond me.

Want to be able to review before paying
It was fairly easy to identify the information I needed to enter in each cell. It was difficult to move between different sections. I would have liked to be able to review the documents to ensure they were complete before paying and submitting.

Amy was the reason why I had a good experience using Expatfile.tax. I am a senior and recently separated living in Canada as an Expat. It’s my first time that I had to file my 2025 US tax return. I found it overwhelming until I contacted Expatfile.tax. I was blessed to reach Amy on the chat option. Amy walked me through the entire e-file process which included two rejections from the IRS with clear instructions, respect, patience and kindness. I wish to highly commend Amy.
