Poor quality business
I hired Liam after I had poor quality work from a previous tradesman for my patio, in Aug 2024.
We agreed he would improve on it, i.e. use spacers, neat and tidy job, use resin so tiles don't pop up. The project was part of a larger work, and since he asked for 50% up front, I pretty much paid for the patio work in advance.
However the work is to a very poor standard, see images and decide for yourself :
1) the patio install has no slope (so i get pools of water and now algae growth)
2) not installed below DPC per building regulations of 150mm - even worse sicne there is no slope away from house so structural integrity of house is compromised (may devalue house)
3) His staff also used nails as a spacer and in some places no spacers were used, since I have 5mm, 3mm, 7mm gaps.
4) poor cuts in tiles and lippages and sinking tiles
5) RECENTLY in July 2025 I have learned that all tiles can be picked up with minimal effort after I had an inspection by another person to remedy Ever-trades work (so no resin was used or was ineffective or the wrong one).
I discussed the issues 1 to 4 above Liam, in Aug 2024, to which he said he will sort something out. I never saw or heard from him again.
I am now out of pocket for the 2nd time!
I have had 3 opinions from Marshall approved landscapers (who i recommend others use) and all have confirmed the above issues to be genuine and real.
I have written a letter in Oct 24 and now proceeding with a 2nd solicitors' letter, and will notify trading standards and finally will go small claims if i need to.
Do no hire Ever-trade for landscaping.
