Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the customer service, finding it unhelpful, rude, and difficult to reach a real person. Customers frequently encountered issues with payment processing, including unexpected limits on withdrawals and transfers, making it hard to access their own money. They also reported problems with the overall service, such as lengthy account opening processes and difficulties with wire transfers. Some people were dissatisfied with the contact options, noting a lack of online chat or messaging, requiring phone calls for most inquiries. My wife has an accont with Everbank

My wife has had an account with Everbank for > 6 months. Very difficult website to use, but fortunately my wife just uses their savings account, with most banking, bill-pay, etc., handled by other institutions.

No place do we see the current interest rate paid on this account. We see a rate on the monthly statement, which likely is not the current rate.

We will be moving funds from Everbank to another more user-friendly bank.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Trying to get POA for a disabled cousin whose money is in checking which they have restricted. Six days after faxing proper POA docs as directed with promised 3 day turnaround I finally got escalated to “sr management” who turned out to be Lisa in the fraud department who was horribly abusive, dismissive and rude. She kept asking me “why I’m in such a hurry to get Mr. S’s money.” How dare she!?!?!? Delays and insults. Because he needs help, is penniless and needs help accessing his money? I am horrified and will have to take legal action if my documentation is not honored. Horrible woman, Lisa in the fraud department. I will make a formal complaint against her.

Forget about this "bank", ain't nobody got time for this.. .

I was in the process of opening an account and came across the notice that they will be removing the "web safety guarantee" from their information. I called the customer service number and was told they are removing that but they have safety in place and I could decide whether or not to open an account and that was all they had to say. Glad I got the heads up on the TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE/ATTITUDE. Evidently, they are not looking to expand their customer base.

Pros And Cons vs. Ally

I've been a customer for a couple of months now, moving from Ally to EverBank. Just want to share a few things that you just can't tell from merely comparing interest rates and fees.

Pros: (1) Great interest rates, better than Ally on both checking and savings. (2) No problem using mobile check deposit.

Cons: (1) Slow, clunky website. (2) Bill Pay requires you to schedule payment days in advance of a bill's due date, as opposed to Ally's approach of using a "deliver on" date for which you can reliably just use a bill's due date. (3) Slow ACH transfers; 1-2 business days for the actual transfer are followed by a 3-business-day hold where you cannot use the money. So it's about 5 business days before ACH-transferred money is available.

I moved to EverBank because of a really bad experience with Ally, where they took 4 days to execute a simple wire transfer and delayed my closing on a house. Compared to Ally, you will earn better interest, but the clunky website and slow ACH transfers are something you have to accept.

I have spent 20 hours just trying to…

I have spent 20 hours just trying to roll over a CD from a 5 year on to a 6 month. I filled out their 5 pages of forms USP mailed them, tried to load on their website they say they have no one that knows how to use their website. They only give you 10 days after the CD expires to change. It fell over Thanksgiving and I am leaving the country without internet service for 3 weeks. Customer service, nicest woman in the world but no help after 5 hours on the phone...the bank does not seem to care about customers or their needs at all. Terrible.

If I could give them a zero I would

If I could give them a zero, I would. This is the worst bank ever and my father is forced to use it because of TIAA-CREF. We have trouble logging in every time and have to call in. Today we called because the only way they had to send him a verification code was his landline. Today when we called they required a security word. He was never asked that before. So to resolve it, he has to fill out a form and FAX it! In 2024! So now we have to hunt for a fax machine. Why are they implementing this policy today? Just the worst customer service and verification process.

Everbank is a BAD bank

TIAA was a great bank! Now to transfer yield money market funds to Everbank is the worse banking experience I have ever experienced in my over 60 years of banking experience. In wanting to pay a bill, I can only pay $15K a day. Right now I have over 4 times the amount of the bill in my money market account, but cannot electronically pay the bill be cause it exceeds the Everbank policy of only paying $15,000 a day. I asked to speak to a Manager and was told it would take 48 hours for a Manager to call me back. What the hell kind of bank is this? I will be taking my Everbank banking business elsewhere. On top of this, to rub salt into the wound they will gladly do a wire transfer for me, but charge $25.00. DO NOT DO BANKING WITH EVERBANK.

Everbank/Loancare are a nightmare

Everbank and its' servicer, Loancare, made a mistake on my loan, it amounted to $137.00, which I tried to resolve promptly. I spent hours on their hopeless customer service (misnomer) line, which is meant to deter any normal human beiing, all to no avail. I finally filed a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, which resulted in a returned call. Loancare is the worst.

I would NOT recommend EverBank

We are a small nonprofit whose employees are 100% remote. We have had nothing but problems with our EverBank business debit cards. They are constantly declining purchases and will not speak with our employees who have a card in their name. We will be dropping EverBank as soon as we are able!

Wow, multiple errors and no confidence…

After going through the entire process of setting up an account, the link to my current bank for funding returned multiple error messages and now no history of opening a new account. Is this how moving money will work too? How will I ever have confidence after this first experience?

Easy opening HYSA

I have opened more than a dozen online HYSA. EverBank has to be one of the easiest opening account processes I have ever encountered. Being a Florida resident, and EverBank being Florida based, and offering one of the highest HYSA rates, I opted to open an account online.
The application asked the standard questions, with nothing overly intrusive. I did not need to send a picture of my D/L, or actually any documentary ID. I set up my external account, and funded my new account from that F.I. during the application process. My account was immediately approved.
Although I knew this was a Florida based bank, what I did not know at the time was they have a branch in my city. So, not only do I get a top tier interest rate, I have immediate access to my money.
Speaking of the branch office. The one in my city is like a boutique private bank. The branch though small, is well appointed. There are no tellers' windows, just offices. They have a guard on duty, although the branch is certainly not in a high risk area, actually quite the opposite. That was an aspect of banking I had not experienced in quite some time. So, for me, EverBank has everything I could ask for in a bank.

Shady banking practices

Account is restricted and the customer service just gives runaround excuses and contradictory statements. I opened an account and funded it with $225 and they won't release my money to me. Now my account is "locked" and I can't even sign in. Beware of this company, do not bank with them.

Customer Service is USELESS

Customer Service is USELESS! I had tried to contact Everbank tby phone over a 3 day period as well as by email to obtain information regarding a CD that I had purchased almost a year ago since I was uncertain regarding maturity. . To my dismay they NEVER contacted me and I was penalized by closing my CD prior to maturity. I should have been more careful but my age (80+) probably affected my abilit to comprehend the situation.
Please read reviews-had I read them -I probably would have saved money! I believe one star for the review is too much.

The worst financial institution you can use!

I have been using what is now called EverBank for about 10 years, when it was known as TIAA. In its former incarnation, I rarely had any problems. The people involved in the transition to EverBank are clueless. I have been locked out of my personal checking and business accounts for a week despite spending about four hours talking to the various incompetents there. I also faxed a letter to the CEO and have heard nothing.

TIAA bank was better bank

I was with TIAA bank for at least10 years. Since it become EverBank I am tired of changes they made and continue making. Today to log online to my personal account I had to sign two agreements. The first one is so long that a normal person will not waste his time to read it. In short, TIAA was better bank and stupidity was not tolerated!

Starting to think they are all scams

This is the 2nd time I tired to get a savings account. First was Tab. Never got the welcome e-mail. Contacted them & they said they had to send it to another department. Never heard back. Same thing happened with EverBank but worse. As soon as I e-mailed them I believe they sold my information because the minute after I e-mailed them I got slammed with 26 spam e-mails from various places through Publisher’s weekly like rapid fire. Not pleased. I’m thinking all these places to get savings accounts are all scams now.

I'd give a zero

I'd give a zero, if it were possible. Lots of problems when they were TIAA. Now with the rollout to Everbank it's worse. Can't get online with the mobile app at all. With my desk top, I can get into the account, but it freezes up when I go to bill pay. Customer service has no answers at all. They say they know there's a problem and there working on it, but with no ETA. Why in the world would they roll out a new platform with all these problems. I'm an switching banks. I've had enough.
