Poor Service and Misleading Booking at Europcar Morocco

My experience with Europcar in Morocco was disappointing. Despite booking a specific model online, I was provided a different car upon arrival, which was quite frustrating. The pickup process was disorganized and time-consuming, delaying our travel plans significantly. Additionally, the final bill included unexpected charges that were not clearly explained at the outset. The customer service was slow to respond and unhelpful in resolving these issues. I expected better from a well-known international brand and would advise looking elsewhere for car rental needs.

Misleading Information and Poor Customer Service

I rented a Toyota Hybrid from this company because I drive one in France and appreciate its economical and ecological benefits. Instead, they gave me a gasoline MG3, a model that isn't even commercialized in Europe. The car consumes an excessive amount of fuel, which completely defeats the purpose of my choice.

When I contacted customer service about this issue, they responded with the following quote:

*"Dear customer,

We thank you for contacting us and in response to your email, we remind you that you have been upgraded to another category higher than that reserved without having billed you the difference in price.

At your service to serve you in good conditions.

Best regards."*

Can you believe that they are saying I should be grateful that they didn't bill me for downgrading my choice of car?! Do you get the level of manipulation and disrespect? They literally think I'm so stupid. This response is not only misleading but also unhelpful. I did not receive an upgrade; I received a downgrade that cost me significantly more in fuel. This level of service is disrespectful and unacceptable. If you're considering renting from this company, be prepared for misleading information and unprofessional customer service.
