I am writing this review to warn potential customers about my deeply troubling experience with Essex Mortgage situated in Florida, US. Over several years, Essex Mortgage has shown a consistent pattern of negligence, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability, which has resulted in significant financial harm and emotional distress.
Despite providing extensive, time-stamped documentation proving repeated errors in the handling of my mortgage and escrow, Essex Mortgage has failed to properly investigate or resolve the issue. Even after their own team acknowledged mistakes involving incorrect liens and escrow charges, they continued billing for amounts they had no legal right to collect. This has led to a substantial overcharges over an extended period of time.
Multiple supervisors (Daryl Burnett, Lance and Keith) were contacted and promises were made, but nothing was resolved. Instead of taking ownership, Essex Mortgage repeatedly shifted responsibility between departments and failed to communicate internally, leaving me to deal with the consequences.
This has caused severe financial strain, unnecessary stress, and ongoing uncertainty. If this company cannot accurately manage title records, escrow accounts, or even basic communication between their own departments, it raises serious concerns about their ability to manage something as critical as your mortgage.
Formal complaints will/have now be filed with the CFPB, BBB, Ripoff Report, Google Reviews, and Trustpilot. I strongly urge anyone considering Essex Mortgage to look elsewhere because their mishandling of critical financial matters has been both reckless and harmful.
Bottom line: Essex Mortgage’s lack of professionalism, transparency, and accountability has made this an exhausting and costly experience. Proceed with extreme caution.
