Very slow and unreliable

Very poor or no reception in many locations around Vietnam, particularly in Phu Quoc and areas of Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh. When it works, it is very slow (I did not see it operate faster then 1.5Mbps on various tests I did). What is good is the cheap price and generous amount of data. However, to achieve a reliable service, I also purchased a 2GB Airalo eSIM that is both very fast and quite reliable, I set this up as a backup eSIM on my phone for when esimtrav didn't work.

Basic internet for Vietnam

I purchased an eSIMtrav eSIM in Vietnam. I got very poor coverage in Phu Quoc, a bit better coverage in Da Nang & Ho Chi Minh. It was very cheap, but when it worked it was often quite slow (max 1.5Mbps). I purchased an 2Gb Airalo eSIM as a backup. Airalo is significantly more expensive, but it's far more reliable and offers high speed. Between the 2 eSims, you should be able to get data when needed at an affordable price. So on my phone I set eSIMtrav as the primary for data and to fall back to Airalo if needed.
