Lovely product, communication needs to improve
Bought a door and flag window from ERW about 18 months ago and initially very pleased. Within a year the paint on the panels had started to crack and flake. Contacted ERW who arranged for the panels to be replaced. Crew who replaced the panels did a great job and couldn’t tell the panels had been replaced. Unfortunately one of the replacement panels also deteriorated with a crack in the wood evident. Contacted ERW again and sure enough they came and replaced the panel which is ok so far.
With a wood product you will occasionally get some issues but I’m so pleased they honour their guarantee, particularly as I have recommended them to friends and family.
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the poor communication. Having spent all of my working life in the service industry I am very aware of the importance of communication. Responding to customers and keeping them updated periodically is an important element of excellent customer service. If ERW had succeeded in this area they would have received 5 stars from me as I love my door and window.

My whole house needed new windows made…
My whole house needed new windows made of wood frames. And double or triple glazed. This firm wass the only one I could find who did the wooden frames and also painted the wood to the colour of your house if you wished. I contacted them and the first person who came down was Glenn Alderson who is not only a salesman but a surveyor as well. They were so busy there was a 10 week wait. The fitters ccame on the Monday led by John Brudenell who was assisted from time to time by other workers but John was the person who went more than the extra mile to make sure the job was perfect. A week later the job was fulfilled and I can't speak more highly of any company that this one.
