Was sent an old dirty non working chair with weeks of delay
TLDR Took them way to long to ship the chair, the chair that they sent to me was very dirty and certainly not refurbished because certain functions were not working at all and there were features missing. The whole situation took Rougly two months for me to get my money back. In the final stages they simply ignored my messages and calls. This is by far the worst buying experience of my life. Completely unprofessional in all aspects.
I found this company at bol.com amongst other companies offering refurbished herman miller chairs. The reason I chose them was because they moffered faster delivery, around 10 days.
So I went to their website and did a research. What do they mean by refurbished , what features the chair comes with. Actually I sent them an email, and I also contacted them via their live chat. In both cases they said that the chair had all the features that the chair can offer. It is worth mentioning that in their website they mentioned that they offer same day shipping. So I decided to order.
The days passed and I didn't hear back from them so I contacted them again to ask when they are going to send the chair. They said that the refurbish process might take up to two weeks. It was not what they originally claimed but I was on with it. Two weeks passed since I ordered and nothing from them. So I contacted them again around the 18th day or so.
They said that they are about to ship the chair. Then I received an email with tracking info. It took 3-4 days and the tracking was not accurate at all forcing me to work from home for almost the whole week waiting for the chair to arrive. Originally I was expecting according to their tracking the chair on Tuesday, then Wednesday then finally it was Thursday when the chair arrived.
And here is where the hell started to break loose. The chair was dirty with thick layers of dust in certain places, and human hair stuck in the casters. Features were missing, and the most basic function of the chair, adjusting the height, was not working at all. The chair would not move neither up or down.
The fact that the chair mechanisms were under a thick layer of dust meant that they were not maintained at all, and indeed when rolling bakcwads you could tell that the gas cylinder responsible for that movement was not maintained at all because the movement was clunky.
So it took them 21 days (plus delivery) to send a non working non refurbished dirty chair to me.
I contacted them again mentioning the problems. They didn't seem to be surprised. They replied by sending an email saying "if you don't like the chair we can offer a refund". Well it's not that I didn't like the model of the chair. It was that the chair that they sent to me was not what I was promised by a long shot.
Anyhow I said OK, and the return process started. I also told them that I will not be at home for a week, so they can send someone to pick up the chair from 10 of September. They replied that they can send someone by 12, which was fine by me. They also told me that they are going to call me before they come to pick up the chair. So I waited at home for someone to come and pick it up. Noone came, the same next day, and the day after and the day after. Eventually they came many days later and they found me at home by chance. They didn't call me to make sure that I was at home. They just came, interrupted me from a meeting and took the chair.
It is worth noting that during these days they ignored my emails, and they would not answer their phone or live chat.
Rougly a week later I finally got refunded. The whole ordeal took about two months.
