I bought two bottles of ResVante Liquid…

I bought two bottles of ResVante Liquid Resveratrol Complex for its advertised “longevity” benefits. After taking it I experienced a bad stomach ache and headache, so I started looking at the ingredients more closely.

The website highlights only the “Supplement Facts” panel and proudly proclaims “NO ARTIFICIAL COLORS, FLAVORS OR SWEETENERS.” But the actual “other ingredients” on the bottle read: purified water, natural sugar (beet), natural flavors, vegetable glycerin, citric acid, malic acid, xanthan gum, organic stevia leaf extract, sorbic and/or benzoic acid(s) (protects freshness).

Finding benzoic acid in a resveratrol product was alarming — especially combined with fruit extracts that may contain vitamin C, because under some conditions benzoic acid plus vitamin C can form benzene, a known carcinogen. Even if the amounts are small, the lack of upfront disclosure feels careless and misleading.

When I called Eniva to return my unopened bottle, I was shocked. First a woman, then a man told me the company has been doing this for 27 years and acted angry that I wanted to return it. They said I’d have to pay return shipping myself, and the man bluntly told me, “If you don’t like it then don’t take it and go somewhere else.” This is the rudest response I’ve ever had from a supplement company.

Between the hidden preservatives, the artificial-tasting “natural” flavor, which is annother hidden word for Artificial flavor and the dismissive customer service, I cannot recommend this product or this company. If you’re considering it, demand the full ingredient list and be prepared for unfriendly treatment if you’re not satisfied. Would leave no stars if possible.
