Beware who you hire
Kai Eldridge did an electrical survey. He only came with a screwdriver, no testing kit or anything else. He was here only 30 minutes.
He basically wrote a report saying an entire rewire was needed, costing £5000 even though he hadn't tested anything.
He also said the smoke alarm wasn't good enough and a hard wired system was needed.
We got the fire service to do a complete check and they said the smoke alarm was within requirements.
We subsequently paid another electrical surveyor who came with testing equipment and he took 3.5 hrs to test everything. All that was needed was a new fuse board to bring it up to date and a couple of other minor adjustments. Estimated cost £1200. Job complete.
I wouldn't trust Kai Eldridge to change the battery in my torch because he would probably say I needed a new torch. The only positive thing I can say is he arrived on time. Kai Eldridge isn't competent to do an electrical survey.
