Easy money if you have a monopoly…

Easy money if you have a monopoly position here in Sweden. We cannot choose which company we want and Ellevio can therefore simply increase their prices! Scandalous!!! Healthy competition would be a relief for all customers!

Hi Paul, Electricity distribution in Sweden is a so-called natural monopoly. This means that each geographical area is served by only one distribution system operator, as running parallel electricity grids would not be socioeconomically viable. At the same time, grid companies are subject to strict regulation. Network tariffs are not set freely, but are reviewed and determined within regulatory frameworks defined by the Swedish Energy Markets Inspectorate (Ei). The purpose of this regulation is to ensure reasonable fees, efficient operations, and long-term investments in a safe and robust electricity grid.
Increases in network charges may, among other things, be due to greater investment needs, higher costs for materials, interest rates, or requirements for improved security of supply. These investments are necessary for the grid to meet future demands, such as electrification and increased load.//Linda

Monopoly, relentless price increases and poor customer focus

Ellevio takes full advantage of its monopoly. As a customer, you have no real choice, and it shows. Prices keep rising dramatically year after year without reasonable justification or corresponding improvements. It feels less like a service and more like being taken advantage of. Very frustrating.

Expensive monopoly

The company holds a monopoly so you cannot get around it. It is already expensive as it is, and they additionally push their prices up whenever possible. This year is no exception. Shameless.

I ordered my watch over 3 months ago…

I ordered my watch over 3 months ago and been told it’s been sent but I have had no tracking and no information at all and keep getting the same copy and paste email like I’m talking to a ai I have asked for a refund and I keep being told that I can’t have one, do not recommend.

Moved out of an apartment in Novemeber…

Moved out of an apartment in Novemeber 2023 and called to discontinue my services with this company in early November. The young man on the phone confirmed and we paid the bill up until late Novemeber. Fastforward to July 2024 they sent a reminder bill and claim that we have not discontinued our services with them and now they are gonna take me to " inkasso". Have not received any other bills from them and they said they had sent them to my old adress which I have changed in Nov 2023.They had even called to ask if we didn't want to move the electricity to our new apartment so they have had knowledge that we have moved. Absolutely horrified with this experience with them and would not recommend anyone to go with this company. I did read a few other experiences here which are the same so it seems like they have internal company issues that they are placing on the customers and threatening them to pay instead of working on what is going wrong in this company. From experience these type of companies don't last very long with these many infuriating customers. Word spreads.

demanded a deposit of 17000 kroner for…

demanded a deposit of 17000 kroner for due to late invoices...they also warned me that if I don't pay the deposit within the time limit, they will be cut off....i called and asked...he laughed sarcastically...and made me realize that I am in a hopeless situation ...horrible place....thank goodness this place didn't take over the world...hope it doesn't go beyond Stockholm

Very bad customer service!!

Very bad customer service!!! Refuse to do it in English!!!! Charge way too much after installation of Smart Meters, they refuse to place a new one and just tell everything is ok. I have proof that it isnt!!! There are EU rules for this and they arent been followed! Very very bad and unfriendly company, especially when you are not swedish!!!!!

Not too bad

Actually, not SUCH a bad customer service.
After being without power in a new house, it took them only one hour to get electricity up again (Återinkoppling).
Been a ikke-personnummer customer with them for a longer time and compared with other companies which rushed into full digitalisation of their customer services, they have responded to emails and phone calls at least.

Pretty incompetent in the phone center

Pretty incompetent in the phone center. They said they switched my invoice from address to email but didn't.
They also told me I had no further invoices to pay, turned out there were two more invoices that I kept getting increased fees for late payments for.

Solving of issue

With regards to a previous comment I made about an unpleasant experience with Ellevio I only wanted to point out that I was after that contacted by Ellevio and they refunded me as a matter of goodwill.
This was unexpected but made me super happy.
Great to see that there is a good functioning customer service after all at Ellevio that takes clients matters seriously. :)

AWFUL customer service

AWFUL customer service, it doesn't even deserve 1 star. They use mob tactics and send out payment reminders including a hefty reminder fee even though they have recieved the payment. Avoid at all cost!!!

I fixed a contract with Ellevio today

I fixed a contract with Ellevio today, they told me that I had to stay without electricity until they can send their technician the next day. I told them I have a small child and I need the electricity ASAP. They said that I need to pay them 3300 kr if they are to send a technician the same day. What sort of business practice is this? one minute they say there is absolutely nothing they can do today and the next minute they say if I pay 3300 kr they can fix it? This company is literally the mafia and they are running a money-grabbing scheme. They can get away with everything because they are a monopoly and customers have no choice but to use their services. I would give them a zero rating if I could.

If you expect people to contact you atleast 5 days in advance before they can get electricity then maybe Ellevio shouldn't be in a business where it is important to give quick services to customers. Getting electricity is an emergency and it is absolutely ridiculous to demand that you are informed 5 days in advance. Change your absurd policies.
Charging customers 3300 kr to turn on a switch (which is what happened in my case) is not called 'charging an extra fee', it is called theft! especially since the customers have no choice but to use your services because of your monopoly status.

We have a policy/demand that you contact us at least five days before you move in, to be sure that you have electricity. We dont have the possibility and staff to manage day to day-connections in a broad scale. Therefore we have to charge an extra fee for that service. /Jonatan, communications manager

Ellevio customer “service”???

As Ellevio customer “service” won’t answer their phones, or worse: answer after 25+ minutes, then drop the call/hang up as I’m trying to explain what I need help with (!!), I rate them 2 stars - and that’s pretty generous.
I’ve tried for several years to arrange paying my bills the simplest and most environmentally friendly way, via the Swedish system where your bill appears in your online banking, you give it the ok, and it’s paid. Ellevio has so far refused to set this up, although all other businesses I deal with have been happy to do it. After all, it’s in their own interest as the fastest and most efficient way to get paid.
I don’t often give poor ratings, as most people/companies deserve good ones, but Ellevio stands out - and not in a good way.

Worst ever!

Worst ever!! You cant call them waiting hours hours and hours,moved out but still sending for electric bills, how can be fakturas for two people it must make some changes, if someone new regestered and paying for electric so old one must be taken away automaticly but noooo they sent facturas to both, so how can be pying two people for same faktura,criminals.
