I paid $55 for an event that was also…

I paid $55 for an event that was also cancelled at the last minute. The event was scheduled for 6/14, so a different event than the reviewer before me.
Interestingly, the pattern was the same as the previous reviewer. The initial load-in time was listed as 10:30, the morning of the event, the load-in time was changed to 11:00, which left a few of us sitting in the parking lot waiting.
Then, an hour before the start time, an email stated that the event was cancelled because the site manager couldn’t exit her apartment building. Very frustrating!!
I’ve contacted Elevate Local to get my $55 refund and have had no communication from them other than this:

“Transfers or credits will only be granted for cancellations made by Elevate Local Shops only.
Should the event be canceled due to weather, vendors will need to fill out a Transfer Credit Form. The form must be completed within 48 hours of receipt in order for your credit to be valid and transferable to another date.“

I’ve also asked when the event might be rescheduled and have had no answer to that either.

It is sad when there are people out there that take advantage of others. All I can say is that I was scammed too.

Elevate Local Shops is a total scam

Elevate Local Shops is a total scam. They canceled a vendor event with less than 3 hours notice to a few of the vendors, but not all of us. They didn't even tell the host until one hour before and the vendors they did contact started asking for the reason for the cancellation. They offered no refund and inconsistent times for the event. If you look at the following five star reviews, all of them are written within a five day period and seem to use the same language with the same mistakes (also in the invitation and application emails). Without proof, I suspect the positive emails are written by the 'company'. It's a good scam and they can make a LOT of money doing this with very little effort. The venue they shut down yesterday had over 25 vendors who paid $55 each. Do the math and they walked away with almost $1500 FOR ONE EVENT. They supposedly hold/shut down events all over the country. The website says they had one in Maryland and one in LA yesterday. I have not gotten in touch with the LA facility yet, but I doubt they had one there either.

They lie and cancel events the day before

This company is not trustworthy. They contacted vendors ONE DAY BEFORE a Christmas holiday market. The email they sent was totally impersonal and they refused to give a refund even though they canceled the day before. There was no inclement weather and they didn’t care enough to send a personal reply. My emails were ignored. Do not trust this company.
