When you graduate, you need a robe
This was easy with helpful staff

awful, unclear, unhelpful, outrageously expensive, cannot buy what I want, forced to buy 10 photos when I only wanted two. delivery of £10 after spending £70 on photos (only 3 of which are even usable bc of blinking etc) AND gown hire of £50. absolute rip-off, livid this was my only option for graduation photography.

got charged £92 for photos that were not centred. Upsetting because I was looking forward to seeing them.

I was left livid with Ede and Ravenscroft. In December 2024, I attended my graduation ceremony for a postgraduate degree and had pre-ordered graduation photos with Ede and Ravenscroft.
I arrived early to have my photos taken with a family member and the photographer hurriedly took a photo of me and was ready to proceed to the next set of people in the queue. Despite a family member's presence, she did not think to establish what package I had ordered for my graduation service. I did not scrutinise this experience too much and put her lack of conscientiousness due to the photographer being under pressure, but it is inexcusable that she did not ensure that she ascertained what photography package I had ordered.
After my intervention, additional photos were taken and I didn't intend to take the matter any further. However, little did I know that this was only the beginning of the disappointing customer service experience I would have to endure with Ede and Ravenscroft.
Within a week after my graduation ceremony, I was contacted by Ede and Ravenscroft via email to review my photos and select which photos I wished to have used for my graduation photos. Having previously used graduation photos with another company for a previous postgraduate degree, my initial reaction, was this is very democratic that I get to choose my photos.
I reviewed my photos and was shocked to witness that a family member's body was not entirely in the pictures. Due to the aforementioned, I refrained from selecting any photos for the finalised graduation photos and contacted Ede and Ravenscroft to get clarity. Unfortunately, by the time I got a response, the deadline to submit photos had passed.
I received a response from a customer representative, who provided me with a photo with the family member fully captured in the photo and was told that this is how the photos would actually look. I was perplexed and consulted a professional photographer who I knew to establish whether this kind of practice was normal. The initial photos displayed for me to select were misleading. Instead of pausing the process and admitting their error and method of conducting themselves, Ede and Ravenscroft proceeded to select the photos for me.
When I asked for the photos to be put on hold, I was told in a very callous manner that the photos are already being processed and will be sent to your corresponding address. The staff member at Ede and Ravenscroft said that should I be dissatisfied with the photos, I should contact them and they will seek a resolution.
When the photos arrived, I was entirely in the photo, but the family member in my photos was decentred. These photos looked unprofessional. Fortunately, I was able to readjust the photo to make it appear more centred in the frame and I consequently purchased another frame to fully rectify the problem.
I expected a superior service than the substandard service I experienced. What I find particularly unsettling is the fact Ede and Ravenscroft have been operating since the 17th century, something the company boastfully displays on their website and provides graduation services for elite Russell Group and other top institutions such as the University of Manchester, the University of Surrey, Birkbeck University of London, the University of Birmingham and even the likes of Oxford University and Cambridge.

Graduation is a happy occasion for many. Ede Ravenscroft have been a source of pure frustration and disgust at what should be a happy time. Having a monopoly on all elements of graduation in particular their photos, frankly their prices are completely disgusting. In an age of digital photography not giving you the digital versions of images you have purchased is frankly disgusting. Added to this there is a particularly poor selection of the photos in a family pack of photos. Most professional photographers will also make enhancements free of charge £12.50 a photo it taking the mick when I've effectively already paid £40 a photo. Furthermore being able to only pick 2 photos is just not acceptable and is not outlined clearly with packages. Disgusting company exploiting people.
I'm fortunate to he in the position to be able to pay much as begrudge giving the company any money. If there were any other choice they'd not get a penny.

Was told that I could take photograph and this will be sent to me via email. So it sounded like the amount you pay is for just soft copies of the photo you took but that’s not it. It’s only for you to go ahead and make another purchase, meanwhile I don’t need any frame, I only needed soft copies of my photo.

The quality of service is poor, and takes the shine of what is meant to be an amazing day. In particular the huge queue for the pre booked photos (so they already have your money).
There is no reason at all why additional photographers could not be provided.

The picking up service was great, easy, and there were people helping to put them up. However, on the other hand, it was very disappointing for returning the gown as there were fire alarm and no one can enter the building, so everyone had to wait outside with no clue what to do. I hope there were some emergency response actions rather than leaving people in no clues with how to return the gowns.
