Unusually for me I purchased 3 of…

Unusually for me I purchased 3 of these so called heaters without doing my normal research.I took all the testimonials on their website at face value, big mistake. I wished I had checked trustpilot first. They are very cheaply built and are just not fit for purpose, I Tried to cancel the order and got ignored. I sent more emails and was informed the goods had already been shipped. When I Said I want to return the goods they didn't want to seem to send me the return address . I eventually got it (Arrowhead road UNIT 17 Ashford TN24 OFC) I sent the good back and eventually received a full refund. You have to be persistent and don't give up Emails to complain to are getecowell.com or support@getecowell .com I would personally not deal with this company ever again. Good Luck

Misinformed, Scammers And Taking Advantage

An advert came up for a portable Ecowell heater on Youtube. As an Energy Specialist, working within an energy company, I was intrigued. It was plastered everywhere on their website 'SAVE MONEY' 'THIS IS THE CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE' and the like. If you have a basic understanding of gas, electric and usage, you will avoid this like the plague.

One thing that stood out on their website is 'The average household will spend £5000 this Winter'. With the average household consumption in the UK at £2000 now, they are advising that a 3 month period will cost £5000? Is that for gas alone, for heating, or electric too? Also, based on what? As overall, prices have come down in recent years.

Factor in that the average unit rate for electric is 28p/kWh currently, and gas is approximately 7-8p/kWh. Gas is 4x cheaper than electric firstly. Secondly, the portable heater CAN heat your ROOM for £2 a day. Supposedly. However, it isn't stated at what temperature or for how long. The 500W heater will cost approximately £2 if used for 12 hours, dependant on temperate. 14p per hour x 12. That's 1 heater, in 1 room.

It's very clear to see that they are exploiting vulnerable people and preying on scare mongering. I was in utter disbelief. Entertaining any sort of electrical heating over gas, you're bound to spend more.

Please avoid.

Do not, and I repeat, do not, buy one of these!

Believe everything you read here. Someone has likened these to hairdryers, I wouldn't be that generous. I was on holiday when I bought one online and didn't do my normal research. If I'd have checked here first, I wouldn't have bothered. Put simply, these are cheap flimsy 'heaters' that are manufactured in China. It's a scam. A con. This is blatant fraud. They're not even worth £5. They'd struggle to heat a kennel never mind a room. Do not buy. The money that left my account for this poor product went to a company called Ecommnova Ltd. This took me to Wayfair.co.uk. The email address to chase up this matter was help @
ourvipsupport.com

I hope this information helps anyone that got ripped off by this scam.

As an update (04.02.24) I have got my money back. If you used PayPal for the purchase, get your money back via them. If you want to contact direct, the email address is help @ ourvipsupport.com

Rip Off

Just be aware that this company buys cheap products, produce long adverts stating how amazing they are and then sell you the product at a rip off prices.

Scam, heaters are rubbish.

These heaters are pathetic with many being sold for £6-50 for unbranded versions. They run up your bills but put very little heat out. They claim to have hundreds of happy customer reviews but nothing here on Trustpilot, hhmmm!.
