I do not recommend this company . I arrived at there car rental kiosk with my family on 25.06.2026 at Turin airport on time with all the correct documentation to be told the manual car I had booked months prior was not Available and no manual car was available for me .They offered to give me an automatic car which I had never driven before and I refused has never driven automatic before and was also driving in another country and on a different side of road from the U.K. so for safety reasons I would not accept it . My reservation was for a manual car and I expected this car to be available has paid for and stated on booking voucher. I was basically left stranded with a 3 hour onward journey to make to the Italian alps .I had to rent another car locally and paid 577.00 gbp for this which they will not pay me back for . Avoid at all costs .

we are sorry about what happened. We understand why you did not feel comfortable driving an automatic car for the first time, in another country and with your family on board.
When the booked vehicle is unavailable, a car from an equivalent or higher category may be offered. However, we understand that an automatic transmission was a significant difference from your booking and that the alternative offered was not suitable for your needs.
We are sorry that you had to arrange another rental and face an unexpected expense. However, costs paid to another rental company are not automatically refundable by Ecovia.
