If I could give a zero rating I would

If I could give a zero rating I would. The $217 sweater pilled so badly after the first wear (to my office where I sit down all day) that it is no longer wearable. I sent pictures to the owner who responded by saying it was normal. The sweater is garbage now. Exchange or refund was denied. If I could upload the pics here I would. Don’t waste your money.

Awful experience!

I purchased the cashmere socks for me and my family. Once I finally recieved the socks after almost 5 months (crazy processing time, every other small business takes a month max) the socks were of very poor quality!!! I did did the cashmere quality test and it was very obvious the socks are made of synthetics like polyester. Tried calling the stores phone number only to realize the number isn't real and they don't even have a real store location. Their photos online look all AI generated. The red flags are SO obvious but I was naive for falling for such a scam. Spending $200 on socks is a scam enough as it is. Company wouldn't respond to my email. Reported them to the police.

my cashmere leggings

Amazing clothes! I have been looking for cashmere leggings to wear under my ski pants for ages and finally got a pair from Econica. They are very soft and high quality. I placed my order on November 26 and received my package on Dec. 2 - just in time for trip. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I was hoping for a larger free sample of Eucalan wool wash, mine was a tiny packet. Nonetheless the pants are great and I’ll adding Econica to my birthday wish list for future orders. 😍

Rude, lying scam

Scam company. The Shawl is shown differently than how inreceived unless you read scammy small print and take it at face value. My account and email hsed to soeak with them were differenf as my phone and computer are logged i to different emails. So they threatened me with small claims court because i was fraud and that action would be taken if i kept the item. I was never fefunded that makes no sense. I initally asked for proof of their legitimacy and they were unbelievably rude and lying since and now i have to go through visa and small claims on my own end it looks like. Rude staff, lie to customers, slow

Last year I purchased 2 pairs of underwear from Econica and waited 2 months for them. Unhappy with how long the order took but also with the attitude of the business. Others seem to be getting the same attitude and lack of quality while Econica tries to gaslight customers and tell them its actually their fault, then lying about how things actually happened. Its bizarre and that alone is enough to leave a bad review, which I didnt even do after my own bad experience. I waited a long time for my small order but I didnt mind because I wanted to shop local, but seeing the way they treat customers and a girl showing me her email proof of their total LIE about what happened, that was enough to convince me to leave a review.

Dear Econica:
This is not Katie Davis lol. I would happily prove that to you but that girl and I have chatted on Reddit when I saw her post there, where she disclosed the screen shots of your emails with her in which you blatantly lie in your response on trust pilot about what was said between her and you.
Keep digging your hole and flag me all you want. But my email and IP address will not match that girls. But I can see your desperation. Being rated a D+ on the Canadian better business bureau for your lack of response and resolving customer issues seems like a bigger deal to me than your Etsy page. Why don't you allow reviews on your own website? Why don't you resolve issues properly instead of writing snarky emails to customers about their use of exclamation marks or how they should order off Amazon or Walmart? 20 years of service and yet you haven't learned how to be good to customers over your lack of communication and your lack of helping them. Telling one woman you made her clothing a certain size smaller than she asked because it's stretchy yet they still didn't fit her? What else have yous done?
You're quick to deny responsibility for your work ethic but sure, all these customers are wrong and you're right. Charging high quality prices for sub par work and rudeness at it's best.

I purchased their cashmere socks as…

I purchased their cashmere socks as Christmas gifts for my family. They turned out fantastic, very soft. My nana really loved them. The packaging was adorable too! I’m happy to support a local business from my area. Thank you! Patty.

Watch out for this awful company

UPDATE after econica replied:
this company just LIED to my reply. I have never ever said my neighbour had the package. The entire 'interaction" with me Econica is claiming happened is a complete made up lie.
That's even more proof for me to give to the Canadian business bureaus about this fraud company. Maybe the police need to be involved at this point because they just lied completely. I have every screenshot.
My review:
I ordered 2 thongs and after over a month I emailed asking when it would be ready. They acted like it was being made "on time" then magically the next day a shipping label was made and they said my order was ready to ship. Waited a month before I emailed again, asking why my package hasn't shipped.
They said "UPS has it. We'll call them tomorrow about it but you're expected to get it next week."
then magically the next day they shipped my package. They lied. I emailed them 2 weeks later asking where my package was. They said the date it shipped and I called them out for shipping it after telling me UPS had the package weeks ago. Very suspicious. Shipping something over a month after telling me the order was ready to ship.
My order never arrived. They refused to accept it was their fault for lying about shipping and ghosted me. This company is a complete scam.
Anything that is a 5 star review is clearly fake, this company is so sketchy I'm surprised they aren't shut down. I've heard people say the clothing is such bad quality, there's no way any of it is real wool.
Stay faaar away from this company and find a trusted business.
Also, any 5 star reviews are clearly fake. This company has so many complaints about the quality of the clothing and awful rude customer service that there's no way anyone could give a 5 star review. The business is clearly a scam.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! This seller had cancelled two orders that I had placed recently, citing nonsensical reasons for non-fulfillment. She just didn't want to honor the discounts applied to the items purchased online via Shop Pay. Fleur had stated via email that she will refund the orders in full. However, she had marked the orders as "refunded" on the Shop app but did not refund the payment transactions charged to my card. I had sent an email this morning for follow-up. Still waiting for a reply and my refund.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’d like to clarify that both of these orders were automatically flagged as potentially fraudulent by Shopify’s payment security system and were canceled and refunded by the platform without our direct involvement. The refunds were initiated immediately on Shopify’s side.

If the refunded amounts did not appear right away on your credit card statement, this is typically due to processing times on the payment provider’s end. In this case, PayPal or your card issuer would be the best point of contact, as they control the final settlement timing.

We did respond by email to explain this and are always happy to assist with documentation or confirmation from Shopify if needed. We hope this helps clarify the situation.

Love you, guys! One of the best and oldest local companies here in Ontario.

Buyer Beware

Buyer beware, customer service is the worse I’ve yet to experience. They blamed me for their quality issues. Awful experience with the owner. If you value your money, this is not the place for you.

Fantastic product and experience

Fantastic product and experience! It if seems a bit odd to have custom-made underwear, you’ve never had custom-made underwear from Econica! As a big hater of gitch and someone who has searched years for comfortable underwear, I ordered 2 pairs 3 years ago on the recommendation of a friend and I am absolutely hooked. Perfect fit and comfort and, while both pairs are holding out amazingly after many, many washes, I love them SO much, I recently ordered and just received 2 more new pairs so I can weed out all my other crappy underwear. I don't do a lot of bespoke fashion, but these underwear (in linen or cotton) my friends, are worth every penny.

Poor quality and service

My experience reflects the negative feedback here. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. Over an order of 3 items, 2 were faulty (one misknitted sweater with a hole; a tailored dress that is 2-3 inches too short compared to the order and came with weird hem not described in the ad). Poor customer service (no apology but it’s the customer to blame). After much irritation, they did propose 50 % off a new sweater (and nothing for the dress) but I am not spending additional money on Econica. Fabric colors are nice but they are not honest. I would also question their sustainability claim given the unclear origin of their fabric. If it comes from the other side of the world, is that sustainable?

Amazing quality + helpful seller

It's almost impossible to find good quality clothes these days - I've never had softer, comfier, well-fitting garments as these. Seller was super friendly and responsive. Loved my experience.

Beware- US buyers!!

I ordered and paid for shorts and crop pants from Econica on May 18, 2024. None of the clothes fit. After measuring the shorts I noticed that the waist was 4 inches smaller than requested and the hips were 8 inches smaller than requested. Owner was expecting me to return the order. It would have costed me about $80 from the US to ship to CN and I had no guarantee she would reimburse me for shipping since it was her company's error. I asked her to send a prepaid shipping label for me to return and get a 100% refund. She refused. Caution to all those who live in the US. I would not buy from this company again. They dispute facts and measurements knowing that it is very expensive for US buyers to return the clothing so we are left with unwearable custom clothing and out the money we paid. It is fraudulent. I don't recommend shopping with this company if you live in the US! Majority of this company's reviews on Trustpilot are 1 star. Not worth the risk, drama and money. Enough said!

The buyer contacted us regarding import fees charged by U.S. customs, which are the responsibility of the recipient. They indicated that they would leave a negative review if we did not cover these fees. We do not engage in or respond to threats or pressure of this nature. While we are sorry to hear of their dissatisfaction, honesty and transparency are very important to us.

They blamed my body size for their ill fitting work

I have own a head to toe merino wool wardrobe from multiple companies. I have never had a single issue with sizing or items becoming loose.

I ordered a custom fitted bralette from Econica and it was an entire 4 inches loose after a couple hours of wearing it. I emailed them to let them know and they said it was because of my body size and not them and that their clothes are for small breasted women only. This unwearable bralette cost me over $100.

But not only that, they issued a shipping label four weeks after I placed my order, but did not actually ship the item for eight weeks after the order was placed and paid for.

They offered me a 30% discount for an item that doesnt exist yet…

Such a strange experience...

Such a strange experience.... I think they are legitimate, but no way of knowing because their customer service is so bad that we could not do business.. I made an accidental purchase. I immediately mailed them to cancel the order. They refunded my money, but only partially. So I mailed again asking them to refund the remainder, also letting them know that their number which shows up on my credit card bill is wrong, which makes them look sketchy. They responded with this incredibly snarky, accusatory and patronizing response:
"given your distrust and anxiety (the amount of exclamation points in your original message really gives it away), and based on our extensive experience with similar situations, we kindly request that you refrain from placing further orders with us. We're a small sewing studio staffed by hardworking individuals, not a punching bag for unhinged shoppers. If you need someone to vent at, might I suggest Walmart or Amazon? You'll fit right in there."
None of my previous messages really justifies this level of aggression. Having dealt with many small companies in my life, I know they attract a lot of aggression from customers who have expectations that a one-person operation cannot hope to match because they are simply stretched too thin. Although I am sympathetic to that, it does not justify them, in turn, projecting their negative experiences onto reasonable potential customers like myself. They are still sending me snarky messages...
Regarding their legitimacy - I think they are probably legitimate since they refunded my money. But I highly recomend checking all transactions, because they are small and stretched thin, I don't have a lot of confidence that things go smoothly first time. They make the effort to fix it, but only after prompted.
