Amazing eco-friendly switch! I just love my ecoegg with Fresh Linen scent, smells great and can't wait to try the other scents! A friend recommended this to me about a year ago and I've never looked... See more

Love this concept - takes a while to used to the reduced fragrance left on washing but I think this is a good thing and more natural to be honest.
Unfortunately not worth the money, I really hoped this would be a great eco alternative to my usual laundry liquid detergent but not effective on even light marks and staining and leaves an unpleasant 'musty' smell on clothes. I've persevered for a couple of months but have now reverted to my usual Ecover brand
Unfortunately I have found exactly the same as the other reviews on this site. It doesn't remove stains and doesn't make the washing smell nice either. I have persevered with it for 3 months and done about 25 washes during this time but now I have decided to go back to my usual washing liquid.
Loved the concept and bought into the message but i happened to buy one from a stall and our washing isn't clean after using one. It also doesn't get out stains. Not sure how Amazon has so many good reviews when these don't work
They might save the environment but they don't save my washing!
Just feels like I'm washing my clothes in warm water with no detergent.
It cant get out light stains, not even chocolate from my kids jumpers.
Honestly, if you want to help the environment, buy washing powder with cardboard boxes and recycle the box or something, eco egg is not the answer!
I really wanted to love Eco Egg, and I've given it a very fair trial - several months in fact. BUT, I don't love it at all for the following reasons:
- I don't feel the clothes are properly clean, they certainly don't smell clean
- totally doesn't remove any stains, however light
- twice the Egg has burst open in the wash - washing beads are everywhere, in all the clothes, therefore all over the floor. What a pain
- The Egg often gets entangled in a piece of washing - for example the arm of a garment, or a pillow case, therefore it can't be washing properly
So, sadly my quest to find a more eco-friendly washing product continues, but for now, it's back to Persil for me.
I don't feel like it works. Clothes don't feel or smell clean they just seem like they've been rinsed. I miss the clean/flowery smell of proper liquid detergent.
This doesn’t impress me as I washed my white cotton trousers with light strains and I was so disappointed as they were still there afterwards, I don’t find this eco friendly as I need to wash my trousers again
I saw this on a BBC programme and thought I’d give it a go. I’ve stuck with it for longer than I should have. I used the 70 wash but refilled after less than half the washes, and then refills in the hope it would get better but no. Clothes are not washing and smell bad, I was adding a little detergent and fabric softner to get rid of the horrendous smell! I serviced the washer thinking it was blocked with gunk, but it was fine. The eggs only seem to do anything for the first 5 washes or so. I’ve gone back to powder while I search for a more eco friendly product.
I have been using these for a while now.
They are a good money saver
Having said that rubbish at removing any stains so you still need to use Vanish on any light coloured washes with stains.
I use the scented beads but can only smell my fabric softener when the washing comes out
Worth a try but not if you have young kids that stain their clothes.
I saw Eco egg advertised on This Morning programme with a discount code so thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately I could not even access the website. It came up with a screen saying "checking your browser before accessing Eco Egg" which was supposed to take 5 seconds. It never went through. After several failed attempts from two different phones, I phone and android, I gave up. It has put me off even trying the product now if they make it so difficult to access their website.
Was excited to use this and to save money however i was disappointed to find my clothes are coming out dirty which iv had to rewash then again. Also the sound the egg makes in the washing machine is awfuly loud. Think ill go back to my normal detergent.
Zero star for customer service! Avoid this company!
I would have loved to give a great review but I cannot. Strip away the special offers, eco points, planted trees and the supposed savings to the environment and there is the problem that it leaves your clothes grubby and with half removed stains. I suspect the tablets that clear out the old powder do not totally work either as initial results are good (maybe from the left over powder) but after a few months stains are not removed. I lost confidence and used so much oxy stain remover before washing it was easier to not use these eggs at all. There is little information on the stains that it works on and the ones it does not work on. In fact little data at all. It does not help the environment if you buy more clothes because the ones you have just do not cut it anymore. I could not leave a review on Feefo (which they use) as it comes straight after purchase when everything works but you cannot leave one after you have tested the product properly. Such a shame.
Perfectly working! The laundry has what it’s needed. We might be used to overload the laundry with product but it is not necessary! I am very happy that I am contributing with the environment. Great solution
I was really exited to try this product when it was featured on This Morning.
I followed the instructions exactly but was left so disappointed with the results. The washing machine sounded like a brick was spinning with the load and the zero smell I got from the wash was awful. As a family we use the gym daily and although non of us sweat excessively our clothes smelt like they hadn’t been washed and it didn’t get rid of stains.
I went straight out and bought my usual washing liquid which not only smells amazing it cleaned my clothes.
This is just okay. I am going to stick with it a little longer BUT I feel the clothes are just not getting washed properly despite the washer not being overloaded. I guess I just miss the smell of detergent on my clothes. I thought this would be a cheaper alternative but not convinced it really works.
Been using Eco eggs for over a year now, fantastic money saver. Myself and partner regularly go to the gym so clothes can get sweaty and gross, but egg removes it all no problem. Really need to not over fill the washing machine when using though (which it does state in the box usage instructions) to ensure you get a good wash. I assume the bad reviews are coming from people who are not leaving enough room in the drum for the egg to do it's thing.
It doesn't keep whites as white though I must admit, but to counteract that I just occasionally add whitener to my white wash, little effort and still saves money.
It doesn't have a strong scent, but that's fine by me as the strong scents in clothes cleaning products are normally caused by toxic chemicals so happy to sacrifice that.
I definitely recommend, just make sure to use as specified in the box, human error as described can stop it from doing it's job as well.
Works very well.
Don't overload the machine with washing and it works fine. Best results are at 40 degrees.
Won't shift heavy stains completely, just use vanish or similar in the heavy soiled wash.
Use cheap washing machine cleaner every 2-3 mths and it'll work well.
I am a regular swimmer and the egg is the first detergent which is getting rid of the chlorine smell completely.
