Reaction

Everything was great until I had an allergic reaction resulting in burns from a product. I sent photo evidence etc but they wanted me to pay postage to return the product in question even though it had resulted in a trip to a dermatologist

Amazing product but not the packaging

I'm very pleased with this mascara, it does exactly what it says it will. Great impact with zero irritation and smudging - I wear contact lenses and that trilogy is hard to achieve. However, I would really urge Sonya to tweak the packaging. The heavy, gold, ribbed case seems dated and contrary to the Eco name. Personally I'd appreciate a less flashy, more minimalist aesthetic ('quiet luxury') but I understand it's subjective. The real issue for me is how eco-friendly, or not, the packaging is. It looks very unfriendly. If there is resistance to scaling down the packaging, it would be great if it could somehow be refilled, e.g. the inner casing could be removed and replaced. Sadly, the packaging could be a dealbreaker for me. Please Sonya, lead the way in eco-innovation!

‘Super Citrus Cleanser’ Does Not Cleanse and ‘Coconut Mint Body Wash’ Does Not Wash the Body

I placed an order for 4 quantities of Super Citrus Cleanser (£21.95 each) and 2 quantities of Coconut Mint Body Wash (£13.95 each) with Eco Tan & Eco By Sonya Driver on 2 February 2025. I received my order 8 February 2025.

Both their 'Super Citrus Cleanser' and especially their ‘Coconut Mint Body Wash,’ are not fit for purpose.

The 'Coconut Mint Body Wash' does not get my skin clean; I would put the body wash on a ‘LoofCo Back Scrubber’ and scrub my entire body three times over, generously applying more product each and every time yet I would not feel clean at all; I felt dirty. There’s just this tingly ‘squeaky clean’ feeling to my skin similar to how my teeth would feel after I brush them, although my skin was not actually clean. The water running off of my body wouldn't run tinged with a beige tone as it should.

I even brought my ‘Herba-Pads Refresh Deodorant’ into the restroom to further test your body wash’s effectiveness. I applied a pad to my thighs as well as arms and the results were concerning as the pads were tainted beige. Dead skin cells were still on my body despite me using a loofah and the 'Coconut Mint Body Wash' multiple times over.

Moreover, I’ve encountered that after using both ‘Super Citrus Cleanser’ and the 'Coconut Mint Body Wash' body wash on my loofah consistently became grey, smelly, and mouldy, no matter where I stored it (bedroom, bathroom, or near the boiler). I ensured the loofah was thoroughly rinsed and left it to dry, yet it continued to degrade in this way after every use. This is the first time I’ve experienced this with any body wash, and I was using organic body washes before the 'Coconut Mint Body Wash', which didn’t cause this issue.

I feel depressed and disappointed after every shower that I’ve used the 'Coconut Mint Body Wash'. This is the worst body wash I've ever used in my entire life. I spent £13.95 (£27.90) on a body wash that doesn’t even clean me. I should not have paid the £13.95 based on the description on their website, which led me to believe I was purchasing a body wash that would be an "organic body wash to gently clean and soothe the skin," when this was not true. I've received no apology from Eco Tan & Eco by Sonya Driver. This experience has left me feeling frustrated and unsatisfied with my £115.70 purchase.

The ‘Super Citrus Cleanser’ is ever so slightly better than 'Coconut Mint Body Wash'. It’s an average cleanser, but perhaps I'm just desensitised to its effectiveness as I've had to use the ‘Super Citrus Cleanser’ as a body wash over the 'Coconut Mint Body Wash.' for most of my showers. The ‘Super Citrus Cleanser’ most likely is of poor quality as well, as I don't believe it truly cleans my face or body. It's purely because it is ever so slightly better than 'Coconut Mint Body Wash' that I have not strived for a full refund of £115.70.

I supported their business by placing an order and spending £115.70 and I have sought a partial refund of only £27.90 meaning they would have still kept £87.80. Yet they did not provide an apology, a goodwill gesture, or any empathy, which is absolutely appalling. They did not demonstrate excellent customer service, a thoughtful approach to handling this situation, or a commitment to customer satisfaction. PayPal gave me £27.90.

I believe I should make it known that Eco Tan & Eco by Sonya Driver have since removed statements that were evident when I purchased two quantities of their 'Coconut Mint Body Wash' from their link and that I also quoted in my email correspondence with Eco Tan & Eco by Sonya Driver.

Specifically:
"...of organic coconut, aloe vera, and peppermint to cleanse your skin while providing deep nourishment."

"Coconut Mint Body Wash is an award winning organic body wash to gently clean and soothe the skin."

"Also, since it is oil free and soap free, we recommend using it with our organic Tanning Products as it will gently clean your skin without stripping your tan."

You can check for yourself on Internet Archive.

I highly recommend 100% Pure, which not only has gorgeous packaging but also delivers spectacular quality. Their skincare products perform exceptionally well, providing real results while smelling wonderful. Both 100% Pure and PayPal are far better companies than Eco Tan and Eco Sonya Driver.

Please don’t waste your money on Eco Tan or Eco Tan by Sonya Driver products! You’ve been warned!
