Buyer Beware - Not trustworthy

Not trustworthy. Drove 3.5 hour to purchase a vehicle we saw online. Increased the price by over $5000 by adding on "incentives" we didn't ask for nor want. Had to ask multiple times to see the total price when I realized the "payment" amounts were not matching up with what I had calculated before arriving at dealership. So buyer beware. They will try to add on a lot of extras without you knowing. We walked out without vehicle.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. Full account below, but very long story short for those not inclined to read- after driving FOUR HOURS to purchase a car I had already secured a loan on and submitted all of my documentation for the day BEFORE, I arrived in Charlotte to be told that the vehicle was NOT IN THE STATE as it had been GIVEN OUT AS A LOANER CAR because one of the other cars they sold to someone had issues. RUN- this place is selling cars that don't match the mileage or condition advertised because are loaning them out and not telling people or changing the price to reflect the additional wear and tear!!!

I'd already test driven the same make and model car at the Duluth location near me (shout of to the staff at THAT location as they were awesome and super helpful!), but this car had lower mileage and the darker interior I wanted. It was literally meant to be a situation where I confirmed the car was in the condition represented on the site, sign my name, and drive home. I'd done everything I needed to do beforehand. At 10am I get a text from Steve the manager that tells me he's confirming my appointment, but that an appointment doesn't hold the car. WEIRD. I tell him I'll be there in 30minutes. I arrive, and check in at the desk, and am paired with a sales associate. I will say the ONE bright spot in all of this was the sales associate, Lauren, she was the ONLY person in this whole ordeal that actually listened, retained information, apologized when it was clear they'd REALLY messed up and was an advocate for doing the right thing. While I cannot tell you to run away from this place fast enough, IF you still decide to do business here she's the ONLY person we dealt with that was on the level. So sits down with me and starts to do the song and dance and then realizes I've already picked out the car I want and gotten the loan for it and this is 99% a done deal so Lauren goes to get the car. She's gone for a very long time. Eventually the manager, Steve, comes over wearing jorts and holding an energy drink. He doesn't offer us anything. What he does do is tell me that the car isn't there. Someone messed up and didn't mark that they'd loaned it out and they were just now realizing it was gone. Apparently it was out of state in SC. He tells me "we want to sell a car as much as you want to buy one" but never actually apologizes. Not even after I reiterate that I've just driven from Atlanta to come get this thing. He just shrugs and asks me if they had any other cars in stock I would be interested in. Uhhh.... I didn't just drive 4 hours to casually car shop. I took out a loan to SPECIFICALLY buy a car that you apparently loaned out and were so disorganized you didn't realize was gone until I turned up to buy it. His solution is to ship it to Greenville once it turns back up so that I can make a 3 hour trip out of my way on a different occasion. When I tell him that's not a solution he literally asks me, "Well it's closer isn't it?" I then suggest what SHOULD have occurred to him- to ship the thing to the location nearest ME in Duluth. After asking his regional manager, I'm told they can do that. Ok great! Few problems- It's going to take 1-1.5 weeks to deliver (so I now have to rent a car for that time frame) AND I have to complete this purchase today on a car that is not only not there for me to inspect BUT is being driven around out of state racking up mileage that makes it not the same specs as the vehicle I agreed to purchase. When I bring these issues up, and ask if they can either make the price reflect all of this or loan me a car then since they created this whole mess I'm told he can't change the price. Steve ducks out to speak to his boss again and comes back with, "I can't take two cars out of my inventory, but I'll ship this one to Duluth in two weeks and mail you a $200 gift card. I think that's more than reasonable.....but you've got to buy it from us today" (for those following along this far, I just rented a car for two weeks because of this since I have to start car shopping all over again and it cost $1350 so $200 to buy a car that wasn't what was represented OR even present is NOT reasonable) Reporting to BBB.

Our associate did not mention or point out our windshield had been replaced. We tried to contact Echopark for ten days to try and set up a return with the same model. We were even willing to pay the difference in vehicle costs.
We were finally able to contact Echopark and they suggested we trade in the vehicle. Trade in the vehicle we purchased from them a week ago because our safety fears are not important enough to make a customer for life.

The cars supposedly have a 180 point inspection. The interior was FILTHY and sticky. The oil change light came on a week after purchasing. The car had NO coolant in it. All my salesman was worried about was getting a good Google review.

Bad experience

After we gave our deposit and had to waited two days to get the cashiers check, the car was damaged on the lot by a truck knocking the mirror off. When we were told it was ready, it was not. When the mirror fell, it dented the side and that was not repaired. There was clear damage/scratches on the side, not repaired. There was a scratch along the side we were told it would be 90% removed. Not even close to being removed. Asked for our money back. The manager did not care really when I expressed my experience.

Had a problem and they made it right!

We bought an Infiniti QX80 and within days had it checked out by Crest Infiniti. There was a major problem with the engine. We took the findings and the Infiniti Crest bill back to EchoPark Automotive Plano. The EchoPark Automotive Plano General Manager, Geremy Smith stepped up and said he wanted to make it right for us. They took back the car, paid the Infiniti Crest bill, gave us a loaner car, and found us a replacement QX80. In the end we got a great car, at a really good price, with no hassle when the mechanical problem was discovered. I would tell anyone who’s going to buy a car to go to EchoPark Automotive Plano. They owned the problem, stepped up and fixed it. That’s a good dealership.

THE WORST

THE WORST. I bought my car from Echo Park in Thornton and got the extended warranty. I have been trying to call for months to get my car in to be serviced, for not only 1 but 3 problems. I have gone straight to voicemail, left NUMEROUS voicemails called the service department and asked to be transferred and still have YET to speak with anyone slightly helpful. VERY dissatisfied and frustrating to pay 2000 for a warranty that isn’t being used.

Echo Park made my car shopping a great day!

Echo Park made my car shopping enjoyable and as stress free as possible. Everyone there worked patiently to get me into the suv I needed for a price I could afford. Eric M. Explained every step and listened to what I thought I wanted to guide me to the perfect suv I needed. He was awesome, and he took all the time needed to make sure I drive off with exactly the right vehicle and warranty. I highly recommend Echo Park and hope you are lucky enough to get Eric as your salesperson!

Deceived Buyer, avoid avoid avoid

I purchased a car with this dealer on 12/12/20 at Echo Park Long Beach.
BEWARE. Dealer STAGES THEIR REVIEWS in various platforms to appear credible - UPVOTE THIS REVIEW SO OTHERS ARE AWARE just look at the profiles of the reviewers and how there's a CONSTANT stream of ONLY POSITIBE reviews daily (google reviews). Surely this dealer does not have that much business, esp in the middle of a covid struggling economy.

Factors that adversely affected my review with this dealer:
◦ The BIGGEST factor was that even though this dealer presented a CLEAN car fax for the car I purchased, it is evident that there was some sort of damage and repairing done to the car. I have written this review with the same review title on google reviews with pictures attached.

◦ The body of the car is misaligned at the rear left side and there’s evidence of paint work throughout the car body. It also appears as if the rear bumper was damaged/replaced. The location of the damage is significant as it is right near the exhaust and will affect the future working condition of the car. KEEP IN MIND THE DEALER SHOWED A CLEAN CAR FAX. These types of hidden and undisclosed damages should not be a thing especially considering their claim of a 190 point inspection. It appears the dealer has a method of STAGING THE CAR FAXES they present.

THE SALES REPS ARE PRIMED TO SELL YOU WARRANTIES AT ALL COST, including an extended $3,000+ warranty, with a vendor that will probably deny your claim when you submit one. The sales rep tried to upscale the credibility of the dealership by claiming he had recently purchased a car there himself, along with the most expensive $3,500 warranty they offer. I could not make this up.

It is a coercive tactic to offer these insurances as you have to make a decision right there and then of whether you want the expensive warranties. It is also hard to tell if the warranty is worth it under that pressure and one can easily and more calmly research quality extended warranties on their own— and purchase those warranties without having to pay interest on them. The dealer is contracted with their lenders and the more products you add, the more money they make.

◦ This dealer by default opts you out of the option to cancel your contract — without any consultation with you. They present it as a good thing, “just sign here, it’s a quick way to lose $xxx bucks” — direct words from the sales rep. The way the dealer approaches this to essentially opt you out by default is coercive and a disservice. You’re immediately stuck in the contract — although not a bad thing if you’re sure about your purchase but you wont be with this dealer.

They play old dealer tricks. They present you monthly payments instead of just showing you what you will owe and the interest rate. This forces you to lock in on what might seem like an affordable monthly payment without allowing you to give much thought about the interest rate. They won't show you exactly what you're really paying until you're in process of signing contracts or unless you pressure them to show you.

◦ They will try to make you feel like you have agency over your loan term, “do you want us to do 5, 6, 7 years or 4, 5, 6?” — these factors are determined by the lender, they’re outside your control and what you want will be irrelevant.
◦ They will try to extend your loan for as long as possible. This further makes their last question irrelevant. And also makes them more money over the short and long term.

I purchased a 2019 es350 from them on…

I purchased a 2019 es350 from them on Dec 14, 2020. When I picked up the car the low tire indicator light was on. I informed my salesman and he said it was due to cold weather which makes since so I drove home and put air in the tire. After putting air in the tire the indicator light never went off. The next day I took the car to the Lexus dealer since it was in warranty and they informed me that the TPMS sensor was broken. Keep in mind that EchoPark claims to perform a 190 point inspection on each vehicle. I picked the car up from the dealer, drove home, and the next day the tire light is displayed again. I take the car to discount tire and they informed me that one of the rims is cracked. I ordered a refurbished rim from discount tire. I then submitted both receipts to EchoPark. There was resistance in reimbursement because they said I should brought the vehicle back to them for the repairs. They finally agreed to pay for the TPMS senor but they would not repay me for the rim. Since the rim was cracked it had to be replaced I asked EchoPark to pay me their expected cost for the rim or split the cost and they refused. I WOULD NOT BUY a CAR from this place again. I have given them ample time to resolve the issue and they refused. They claim that once you buy a vehicle from them they warranty it for 30 days that's a lie! Run from the place!

Naod at the Dallas area store gave me the worst experience I’ve had with customer service. How did I end up getting a manager that was unfamiliar In the process and on top of that, they send me a free and clear title without a lien being placed, for a car I financed through them. Ridiculous!

I found an unbelievable deal on a…

I found an unbelievable deal on a Nissan Maxima today on cargurus, turns out it was too good to be true 🙃. So I contacted echo park through a message then an email and finally a phone call. I asked if car was still available, they said yes. They asked when I could come down for a test drive, I said now, so rep took down my name and number and told me to check in at front and someone would help me. So I drove to their san Antonio location. I went to front, no one had heard of me, no one expecting me. So the salesman starts his shpil that they're all on salary, that their prices are 20 to 40 percent below Kelly blue book (amazing). They have a no haggle price policy and do not have in house financing. All financing is done via third party according to the hustler, I mean scammer, I mean salesman.
So I tell him I'm already pre-approved by my bank for a set amount and rate, good for 30 days. So he asks which bank, I tell him wells Fargo, he answers ok they're one of our approved lenders. Then he says I'll still need fill out and submit a credit application through them. And that I can request it only goes to wells Fargo. I tell him I'm already approved, but he says no I'm really not, not until a vin number is included.
So he tells me to wait and he'll go wipe the car down and pick me up in front for test drive.
10 minutes pass and he shows up and tells me someone else is test driving the exact car I just called about. They have a thousand cars, but the one I picked is suddenly out on the road on a Tuesday. He tells me he doesn't know how long theyve been gone or will be gone. Tells me to sit tight. So I tell him since it's a great car with very low miles at an unbelievable great price of course the person test driving will likely decide to purchase so I ask why should I wait. He tries to convince me to be patient and sit tight and eventually they'll get back, we'll see what person decides. So I told him, this is now turning into a complete waste of my time. I walked out, and found these reviews, I'm glad I escaped when I did 😊
