We had solar panels installed in July 2023. All of the panels are working extremely well and have reduced our energy bills. We spent a lot of time researching various installers and found ECH to be the most competitive. They also managed to add more panels than others said was possible and didn't quote ridiculous prices for scaffolding. The crew that installed it were great. Carl and the rest of the team were always very helpful. We had a slight issue recently and they came straight out and sorted it, which was a huge surprise. No fuss or delay, they just sorted the issue. I would definitely recommend them and will definitely get a quote from them for other solar projects we may have at other properties.

We're very happy with the experience from start to finish. Following the initial enquiry there was no hard sell, just helpful factual answers from Carl. The equipment installed appears to be of a high standard and working just fine. The installation was as advised and all went well although I wouldn't recommend watching the guy on the roof! That's not something I would volunteer for.
I'm very happy to recommend them to others.

My system has at last settled down into a more reliable state. Not all the problems were down to ECH but I think the group is more aware of the need to check for updates on customers hardware they have installed. I believe the problems stemmed from a lack of update to the LuxPower hardware and further advice from LuxPower on the residual energy needed on the batteries to reduce errors reported from the LuxPower unit.

ECH arranged the installation of my solar panels in November 2023. I had obtained other estimates before deciding to offer the contract to ECH. I found them easy to deal with and they were able to answer all my questions about the installation, etc. I thought they were open and honest in explaining the benefits of solar panels, the likely electricity generation, and the optimum number required for my property and needs. There was no 'hard sell' and I was confident that they were recommending what was right for me.
The installation was over two days. The fitters worked quickly and the panes were in place by the end of the first morning and they left Aaron, the electrician, to complete the connection and all the associated electrical work. He explained everything to me before he left. All three guys were polite and friendly. They cleared up as they went along.
The solar panels are working and generating electricity even on a cloudy day. The real benefits lie in the months ahead when the sun shines!
So, in summary. Dealing with ECH was a good experience and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. Alan

A local friend recommended ECH after they had a positive experience with the company. Like our friends, we found Carl and the team very helpful and patient on the phone as we asked many questions over multiple phone calls. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision which was nice. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that the online survey which provided an aerial view of where the panels could be fitted didn't prove particularly accurate. When the two installation men turned up on the day to fit the panels, they performed some measurements of the roof and told me the panels wouldn't fit on the front of the house (due to a combination of velux windows and our neighbours house). To be fair to the installation men they suggested an alternative set-up as it turned out we could get additional panels on a different roof. This worked out pretty well but I was working from home and had to make quick decisions on the day which I was hoping to avoid via all the questions ahead of time. I should point out that our house has an unusual set-up of various facing rooves, and so I don't think our installation was very standard. I do wonder, however, if the onsite survey could be a bit more thorough with roof measurements performed so that it's crystal clear where the panels will fit when it comes to the install. Having said that, I would recommend ECH to others. Their post-install advice and speed of providing documentation was also very good.

Everything went very smoothly - from the initial quote to Carl's helpful advice.
The quote was less than the equivalent from the council sponsored "Solar Together" scheme. I prefer to deal with a local company anyhow.
The girls in the office dealt with everything promptly and the whole system was installed in a matter of a few weeks.
The system is working well - just need some more sunshine now! :-)

From the first email contact all staff were very helpful with possible changes to the installation costed. Four other quotes later and I decided to choose ECH Ltd. Installation was just over a week later with the panels fitted very quickly despite them having to fetch the equipment. The electrician explained the equipment with all complete late afternoon. Very happy to recommend this company/

We had been thinking about installing solar panels for several years, and then one of my friends told me he had just had panels and a battery installed by ECH. When he told me how straightforward the experience was, how helpful the team were and how reasonable the financial investment was, we contacted ECH ourselves.
The advice we received in advance, without any sales pressure at all, and the reasonable quote persuaded us to go ahead. The process from there onwards was indeed very straightforward. We had more helpful advice during the on site survey, and installation day itself brought very little disruption. By the end of the day we had a fully-functioning system, which has already saved us money - despite the time of year!
We're glad we have finally installed the panels and battery and glad that we went with ECH.

Firstly I used ECH as my friend recommended them and then when I was getting quotes they were the most helpful and patient of suppliers in answering all my questions (I had a lot). They sent someone to assess the set up I wanted first (I asked) and I asked for the same person to do the fitting and they accommodated this. On fit out day we had a bit of fun with the alarm and the electricians were great sorting it out with the alarm company.
Both the team who fitted the panels and the electricians were polite, tidy and helpful.
Solar panels are a big investment and I am happy I chose this company to do this with.

Excellent service from the ECH Group the fitters were prompted and on time very friendly and professional they kepted the area clean and tidy. only comment is more information/ training on the software would be handy, Best price out of 20 company's

From the moment I decided to install solar panels and contacted ECH group I was treated with courtesy and respect. The quotation, acceptance and installation was enacted smoothly and the installers were professional and helpful. I have been pleased to have had this company undertake this installation

Great service from start to finish; advice, planning, survey, installation - highly recommended; my 15 panel + 5.2kwh battery was installed 2 weeks ago and I have to give full thumbs up; only little draw back: I am addicted to the app and monitor the system way to often - I hope this will settle to once a day; all members of the team were knowledgeable, friendly and even if I repeat myself I can highly recommend ECH

ECH advised on the type and capacity of solar storage battery to suit our system and carried out its installation. Their advice and guidance was most helpful and the installation was completed on the promised date. Their installer helped decide the best location for the battery and carried out a first class job, leaving the site clean and tidy. The system has performed faultlessly for the past year.
Follow up has been good and included a firmware update for no charge.
I can thoroughly recommend this company.

• Overall we are very happy with the system now it’s all functioning (9 panels, 5.2kWh battery but more like 4.2kWh usable capacity, Zappi EV charger and iboost water tank heater)
• ECH provided excellent and rapid responses by email to all (or at least most) of our questions and concerns
• The initial site survey seemed rather cursory and they did not seem to want to inspect the loft or discuss with us the details of the proposal and process or recommended options
• It would have been helpful to see a detailed proposal for our home and be kept up to date with delivery dates rather than only in response to our emailed questions. An option for a phone call may have been helpful
• It would have also been helpful to be recommended the Eddi for water heater rather than us having to enquire about a water heating system after finding out about this from my colleague and being provided the inferior but admittedly functional iboost option
• The delivery of panels, inverter, battery, etc turned up on the Monday 24th April in 2 separate shipments but we didn’t receive information about this other than this may be the date so a confirmation of this by email would have been useful (I worked from home on the off chance)
• Similarly, a confirmation about the install date would have been appreciated rather than having to check by email a few days before
• One panel was visibly damaged and the delivery driver suggested they were poorly stacked. I was also left to drag the pallet with the battery to the door past our car so I could get this inside before it poured with rain
• On the install date (26th April) a traffic incident meant most of the team arrived very late and tired, though the electrician did arrive on time and was able to recommend an alternative option of housing the battery and inverter on the side of the house rather than in the loft as was suggested at the site visit
• This confusion over the battery placement meant we hastily arranged to board the loft in advance to speed things up and ensure that it was properly insulated (rather than pay ECH to board a small area around the battery) but this was not needed in the end since the electrician recommended the side wall for battery/inverter
• The electrician was excellent, taking us through the process and the system, recommending options and solving issues
• But there was a mistake with the wiring which unfortunately was made more difficult to identify due to other equipment failure (dud panel, possibly dud optimiser) and perhaps the fact that a traffic incident severely delayed the installers so there was less time available
• The issue was not fixed the next day - the team arrived around 4pm only after a text message exchange which implied they were on site but could not solve the issue despite it being evident they hadn’t yet visited, and when they did it was too wet. We were of course disappointed the issue could not be solved until after the bank holiday weekend but would have understood if we were told it was not possible for the team to attend
• Although we really appreciated the hard work the team put in, the panels did not work for nearly a week and the battery was not operating correctly until nearly a month later following multiple emails and eventually getting the electricial back (the export tariff still took longer to sort out but this was not related to ECH who sorted out the relevant information at handover)
• It would have been far less stressful if all the installation had gone to plan and I know this was a very unusual situation, though the suggestions about the site visit, more information on the proposal, process and dates all still seem relevant. It would also have been appreciated if some kind of compensation for the problems had been offered

Overall, we are very happy with our solar panels, battery and Zappi charger and the iboost is OK for heating the water tank thougfh an Eddi would probably be much better. The price was competitive and email communication was good. My colleague had a smooth instal with this company so I would see the difficulties as a worst case situation though some of the issues could have been dealt with more effectively but I would still recommend this company as one to get a quote from.
