Owner was quite nasty, turning on me because he had damaged MY bracelet

I took a loved bracelet to be repaired, and when it was returned the spring was literally poking through the gold in 3 places making the bracelet useless. When I pointed this out the owner simply offered me the £65 repair bill back. When I pointed out my rights (repair or replace) he got quite nasty, and weighed the bracelet, saying 'I did you a favour in agreeing to get it mended for you.'
When I collected it, again he was offensive, saying that it was a 'cheap and nasty bracelet' accusing me of breaking it myself etc. etc. I had a friend with me who would give a statement to prove this point, especially after the Owner threw that he would do me for slander if I told anybody. I also do not consider my £500 bracelet to be 'cheap and nasty' at that price.
As it stands, if the spring breaks through the gold again, then I will be going straight back for a replacement out of his pocket, as it was his menders who damaged it completely.
As I said to him when I left 'It's a shame that you have such a nasty attitude, because I used to quite like coming in here to spend on bits and pieces, with the last thing I had bought the previous week at £550.'
Ridiculous horrible man: I spent £4,000 on a platinum and diamond ring last week, shame because it could have come via Bixby's, but certainly not with his attitude.
