ordered 2 Makita 5AH batterries and got them at approximatly half price. Batteries are used (heavily) and have had a grinder run over both Makita decals. Had this been mentioned on the web site I would not have bothered.Delivery took an eternity. DO NOT USE THESE MUPPETS!!!!!!!!
I ordered a craftsman battery charger and it was the wrong model and it looked really old. It took six weeks to get here. After several emails, ebattery.ca concluded that they do not carry this model. Several calls went by and they asked me to return the unit to them for a refund. Strange part is the battery arrived without any customs documentation or taxes paid. They asked to me to return it to them. Unfortunately I am not confident that the address is the correct one, and I would have to pay for shipping and return documentation which I cannot process as I have nothing from ebattery.ca to show that I received it from them.
My guess is they buy surplus stock or prototypes from manufacturers and distribute these.
The ebattery.ca web site is located in the USA, and the paypal payment went to Huizhoushix which is nowhere to be found. Time to speak to paypal and identify the location of the paypal account.
If I get no satisfaction, I will alert the Canada border service that they are bypassing customs declaration process and Reveneue Canada that they are not paying tax, once that is done I will do the same for the IRS in the USA, and send a copy to the Chinese embassy as well. If I get a credit within the next week, I will be happy to delete this review.
Totally useless, robbed me of £38.Ordered 2 laptop batteries, took my money, items never recieved, wont reply to emails,no telephone number to contact, avoid like the plague..totally and utterly useless.
Company supplied battery for DJI Phantom drone, after 2 or 3 recharges no longer will charge. Supposed to have 3 year warranty but cannot contact them. Have escalated dispute to Paypal.
I ordered a battery for a makita drill paid fiver postage and packaging when I received the battery 4 weeks later . It had come from China and was not an original makita product . A couple of weeks after not receiving the battery I sent them an email to which nobody replied . the only time I got a reply was when I escalated a claim for my money back through Paypal and they gave them a bogus shipment number and said it was being done through TNT who I phoned and was told that the shipment number did not exist .I now have a crap battery which I do not want to use as I do not know if it will explode on me if I put it on charge .
I do not even have any contact numbers to phone them to arrange for the battery to go back to them and for me to get my money back . I looked at reviews on this 2 weeks after I had paid them the money for this fake piece of rubbish that they sent to me I only wish I had looked at this companies reputation first so when you do look at the reviews that people have written about these fraudsters .BELIEVE them because they are not telling lies . I only gave them 1 star because I cant give them less the review site wont let me .
Update: after escalating this to a PayPal claim and publishing this review, ebatteries did the proper thing by refunding my payment for the defective battery. They obviously read these reviews (at least the "real" ones) as they asked me to update my review noting "I will be very appreciated for your kindness to change into positive feedback or delete it." I upgraded my rating to three stars. Caveat Emptor...
Cross Ocean Electronic Company, Ltd. owns several websites including ebatterys.co.uk, ibatterys.com, ebattery.com.au, ebatterys.ca, ebatterys.de. All have similar fair to poor ratings which should be combined on TrustPilot. My experience is with ibatterys.com in the USA, but applies to their other sites as well.
Ordered two Ryobi 120L batteries which I knew were refurbished, but guaranteed 3 years. The batteries were shipped from a nearby UPS facility, but had no return address. One battery showed as defective when plugged into the Ryobi charger; the other took a charge, but only time will tell if it was really refurbished. As with other reviewers, Cross Ocean first offered, thru PayPal, to replace if I sent the battery back to China at a cost to me of US$28 (for a $30 battery). When I refused that offer, they offered to send a replacement for $8, I could keep the defective battery and they would "bear the rest lost ourselves." Not wanting to throw good money after bad, I refused that offer and escalated it to a PayPal claim.
Based on other comments, I'm not confident even a partial refund will be forthcoming - some have had success with PayPal, others not so much. I do know that I will not deal with this merchant again. Their site(s) promise all sorts of things they can't or won't deliver on, they can't be contacted directly, won't take payment other than thru PayPal. Even if their intentions are good, the result is still the same - the customer is stuck with the wrong or defective product with little or no recourse.
Now on my second Ultrabook battery from eBattery.com.au.
In their defence the first faulty pack was replaced without fuss once I had paid for the return postage to their Sydney warehouse.
Unfortunately the second battery suffers the same problem. Selected by product number for my Sony Vaio Ultrabook I get only a short time away from mains power before the computer simply shuts down. I get no warning and lose anything I was working on. This is when the battery meter shows around 50-60% charge remaining.
Plugging it back in shows 1% suggesting the lithium cells are simply dying under load.
Won't bother to return another pack as the shipping will soon outweigh the cost of shopping elsewhere.
Best avoided,
The worst company on the Internet ive ever experienced. Send out the wrong Makita drill battery which you think is from The UK but is really China. It does not hold its charge then have to pay £20 to return it back to them to get a refund through PayPal. They offer no telephone number so not sure yet if my return will get there. Awful don't buy.
