Hands down the worst

Hands down the worst. My wife and I along with my son and his girlfriend visited City Place this week to have lunch at Eataly. We were going to order the Ribeye sandwich for $ 29.00 but was told they ran out and had to wait 20 minutes. Lucky for us because while we were on line a woman was complaining to the cashier that her sandwich was very fatty and cold. We ended up ordering 2 margarita slices of pizza and 2 slices of Margarita Revisita's $9.00 per slice. The only way I was able to eat my pizza was to scrape off the cheese and sauce because it was way too salty . It was truly the worst slice of pizza I had ever had . My son's girlfriend ended up vomiting during the drive home to Wellington. We also bought a fresh Mozzarella that we tried at home that was also horrible. I had better Mozzarella from Costco .I doubt Eataly will last a year.

Very disappointing customer service

I ordered 5 items on their website for delivery to Strasbourg. Only 3 arrived, no explanation, no excuses. I saw that the missing items were still available on their website so I asked them to kindly send the missing articles - I wanted the product not my money back. That probably was too much hassle and cost- they will just return the money.
Very disappointed with their attitude.

Scammed by Eataly

Despite its popularity for its good food and quality people should pay attention to something awful!
The bathrooms are always smelly and degraded, in all stores I have been: Milan, Turin and Genova!
However recently I have experienced the worst... I have been a loyal customers for years, purchasing products and having lunch and dinners regularly! I have ordered one bottle with the online service by paying 5euro the delivery in the same city (for one single 50euro bottle) the bottle has never been received! Even if this is something that could not happen... the disappointment is given by hearing that they requested to a GLOVO rider who never delivered! I contacted also the assistance which was useless, and also hanged up twice the phone because was not able to find a solution.
Eataly makes people pay high price for their services but take advantage of underpaid or unpaid riders!! That's awful to me! I am disappointed and ashamed to having been a loyal fan of such scammer brand!

I will never come here again

I will never come here again, what a horrible experience, came here with my Autistic son and he wanted to buy a cake with his own money, so I told the lady we will be buying separately, as I also wanted to buy some cakes too, she was very rude, made me feel stupid just because I wanted to buy separately. By looking at other reviews looks as though Eataly needs to seriously train there staff on costume service.

Worse experience at Eataly Liverpool Street

This evening, my friend and I had the worst experience we have ever encountered at Eataly Liverpool Street. The treatment we received was not only rude but downright appalling. I have never been treated with such a lack of respect and basic human decency in my life.

After enjoying a meal and settling our bill, we decided to order another glass of Prosecco. However, just five minutes after our drinks arrived, we were abruptly asked to vacate our table, without being offered an alternative space to finish our beverages. Had we been informed before ordering that the table was needed and there wasn’t enough time or another area available, we would have gladly left then. Instead, we were left standing in the middle of the restaurant with full glasses in hand, feeling completely disregarded.

We noticed a table just outside the main restaurant area where others were seated and enjoying their drinks. We politely asked a waiter if we could move there, and upon receiving his approval, we relocated. While sitting there and browsing the store’s products, the floor manager suddenly approached us in an aggressive and accusatory manner, loudly claiming we hadn’t paid our bill. This shocking accusation was made in front of other customers, leaving us humiliated.

We calmly explained the situation, expecting an apology for the misunderstanding. Instead, the floor manager doubled down with further rude and insulting remarks. This behavior was both upsetting and unacceptable.

The experience left us feeling insulted and completely disrespected, especially as paying customers. The restaurant felt chaotic and poorly managed, with the floor manager in particular displaying an alarming lack of professionalism. To add insult to injury, this individual seemed to believe such behavior was entirely acceptable.

We have taken the floor manager’s name and will be filing a formal complaint with Eataly’s head office. This kind of treatment should never be tolerated, and I hope immediate action will be taken to address this issue.

Poor service

Poor service, very mediocre overpriced food! I had better gnocchi in Manila at an Italian restaurant run by an Italian. Not a good advert for Italy. We saw the Manageress who agreed to take the service off the bill and took my email saying I would hear from her. That was weeks ago and never heard a thing! There wasn’t even a pepper mill on the table and my friend had to ask for one. Avoid it at all costs!

What a major disappointment

I was expecting a nice seafood meal for lunch. However, when we got there, it appears that they had switched to a Brunch Menu without menitoning this to us. We were trapped. I felt deceived. What a bate and switch. If you are going to change the menu, then make it clear. Next, the person who came to our table brought the wrong order. Then disappeared. And to add more insult to injury, it was so noisy and croweded that we could hardly hear each other at the table. Is money the only priority for the restaurant? The food was overpriced, but we were willing to pay for a nice meal. Instead, we only received diappointment upon disappointment. We will never return to this place.

OVERLY AGGRESSIVE LOSS PREVENTION

I WAS FOLLOWED BY SECURITY because i was "picking things up and putting them down" I confronted the security guard "are you following me?" and he doubled down. "Yes, b/c you only bought one lemon and you're acting weird and you paid for it but then came back in the store.”

I could not believe this was happening. In the past, I have bought black truffles, white truffles, wine, a mandoline... and this has never happened until today. When I spoke to two different managers, they defended the rude employee who so obviously followed me. I knew I was being followed by 2 men in all black that communicated by walkie talkie. I was very indecisive in my shopping, but if you have been to this location, you know it’s an overload for the senses and I was actually trying to stay within a budget. I settled on the one item, but planned to come back after going to Home Depot across the street. But once I checked out, I was pretty sure I had been profiled. I exited. I steeled my nerves, and I went back in. I had to know for sure. Indeed, they were. But, now it felt confrontational. And it was. That’s when I inquired. The guard seemed unnerved by my style of shopping and when I realized that we were not going to have a rational conversation I asked to speak to his boss. And upper management basically said this is what we do. I suggested a bag check. I asked do you have your black security guards follow non-black people and he assured me yes, they actually followed a white chef around earlier that day for doing the same: picking things up, looking at them and putting them down. Shopping. Worst part is: the guard never apologized and continued to smugly disrespect me in front of his boss. I eventually had to ask the boss if I could speak to him in private so I could speak without being interrupted and insulted by the guard.

Just know that if you shop here you will be followed and they will be unapologetic. I want to leave this here as I feel completely helpless in my pursuit of fairness and humanity. This isn't racism. Just a lack of humanism.

I remember visiting the Chicago Eataly…

I remember visiting the Chicago Eataly in 2016 and it was awesome. Unfortunately, my online order did not replicate that experience. If there is no ONLINE customer service phone number...buyer beware. One of the worst online ordering experience ever. I had to track down the 2nd half of my order myself. You would think that they would provide 2 tracking numbers, but that was not the case. How would you feel if you only received 4/8 items? Do not order from their online store...they don't care about you and don't email you to apologize for being inept. If they treat their online customers this poorly...can you imagine the quality of goods that are sent to you?

What's the point of having a website?

Title says it all. I ordered six bottles of wine on Eataly's Vino website for local delivery, and was charged for it. It's been over a week and I haven't heard a word from them. I received an order confirmation at the time, but nothing has shipped, my emails and calls go unanswered - it's ridiculous. What's the point of having a website and local delivery option if nothing happens? Why have a phone number for guest relations if no one picks up? Why have an email for wine orders if no one responds?

One star because 0 not possible. Delivery paid 7.80€, carrier passed by my house outside the agreed times of delivery. Parcel returned to store and there is no second try of delivery. Assistance service worst than ever, useless and arrogant. Never again. You can fail in my humble opinion.

Miserable and shocking experience!

Was told about this place and met my son who wanted to take me out for a treat there knowing I like Italian food. It was a lovely sunny day and I was looking forward to it. With table booked, unfortunately, I arrived 20 mins late, my son did not want to lose our spot as he booked a table. We had our meals and I gave them a pleasant written review as the waitress asked for one. We paid our bill and had to leave as my son had a business call to pick up on. As we left the building a hostile security man came rushing up with something in his hand pressed the alarm at the doors - a siren was going off as he was saying with aggression ‘I have been watching you on CCTV you have not paid your bill!!’ We were perplexed - my son said “yes we did - we just paid “” and took out his phone to get the transaction. The security man continued aggressive in tone and manner - we were still confused and his hostility continued he said “you had TWO drinks you did not pay for’. It turns out whilst my son was waiting for me he was waiting at the bar, In the crazy rush to find me and get to our table the tab for two drinks was not picked up. We said then why didn’t someone come over and say whilst we had our meal - it was an oversight. We were made to feel like “criminals” and asked for this to be scaled up. When the manager of all restaurants came to speak she walked passed us and straight up to the aggressive security guard and asked him if he was okay totally ignoring us as customers. We asked for his name to write to his boss, they refused to give us his name and she said to write to her and gave us her card - Annalisa - she did apologise saying they have a “lot” of people not paying. I said to Annalisa the starting point is not to treat people like criminals, all they needed to do was to come over to our table and add the two drinks on our bill. Not track diners on CCTV and ring alarms at the exit. We did pay they just did not add two drinks on! I said your first port of call is to check not to treat people so disgustingly. Sounding security alarms at the point of us leaving and shouting at us was not the way. We would not go somewhere pay for a meal and not pay for two drinks! Clearly it was an oversight and whilst we were eating and settling the bill they just needed to add the drinks on. It was a poor show by them and my first and last time eating at a place that treats customers so abhorrently - their customer service was a disgrace. We are foodies and eat out everywhere in and around London from the smallest to the grandest. I will not be recommending this place - they need to train their staff in proper customer service. The sad thing is we paid a service charge to them which was undeserving - but they can retain it for their staff customer service training - which must be seen as a priority. A mega thumbs down to this place - I will not be referring it to friends, colleagues or business acquaintances!
