I contributed two original technical articles to DZone — for free — giving them quality content to drive traffic to their platform. In return, they deleted both pieces without warning or clear explanation.
Let me make sure that's clear: they benefit from free labor by community contributors, then remove the content whenever they feel like it with zero communication. You're not a valued contributor here. You're unpaid content farm labor with no recourse.
I've now filed a GDPR deletion request to have every trace of my data wiped from their systems. If you're a technical writer considering publishing on DZone, don't. Keep your content on your own blog where you actually own it. DZone will happily take your work and toss it the moment it stops serving them.
1 star is generous.
