Almost 1 year post installation I was still struggling to understand how the 2 apps Dura-i and Duracell Energy work after the Dura i app was updated. The installer was not much help (another company). Charlie S was really helpful and took time to work out why I seemed to have 2 logins. All sorted now and looking forward to getting the app set up with my tariff so I no longer have to guess when to charge/discharge the battery.

Dura batteries and inverters work fine, but the Duracell Energy App is extremely unreliable making it a really hit or miss affair to charge or discharge the batteries. This has got worse since late December 2025 and has continued throughout the first 6 months of 2026. On multiple occasions a charging instruction or discharging instruction simply hasn't worked. I do hope this can be resolved but despite many promises and apologies the problems remain.

In March 2024 I bought two 5kWh batteries from Duracell produced at the DureDrive UK factory under the PureDrive discount offer made then to boost sales. These Duracell batteries are performing OK but with a high hysteresis loss of about 16%-17% - ie charging and discharging them you get 16%-17% less electricity to use/sell than you put in from your solar panels. This fact was not advertised to me. Also, from a 2x5kWh battery set up you will be lucky to get 7kWh of usable energy because of the 10% minimum level below which the battery must not discharge. Worst of all is that the Duracell app driving my Solis inverter frequently fails to control the inverter making it impossible to store power and export it under a forced discharge during the maximum price period. This current failure has lasted a month and I cannot get the company to respond and correct the problem which it accepts is down to their app failing. Customer service is very poor, it is extremely difficult to contact anyone, there is no response to emails, I cannot get it to accept my change of email address, and when you are directed to use the frequently answered questions on their website it is useless. Duracell UK needs to get its act together.
I have had my Duracell solar system for over a year now , and it has worked perfectly. Recently I contacted support with a a question about my system and Charlie responded quickly with information I needed

I had my system installed on 14th of April 2026. 2 large 16 Kw batteries and solar panels. I saved for 3 years to pay for it up front 14k . It has never worked since installation. I have had now 6 visits from glow green installation team and 1 from Duracell . Woke this morning and my battery once again has not charged up overnight as scheduled and I am paying peak rate ( again ) this morning off the grid.
I am at the point where I want to have the system removed and my money refunded so I can approach another company.
Customer service is hit and miss. Nice people but difficult to contact and unable to help.
Incredibly disappointed.

Had an issue after a smart metre was installed which unfortunately made the solar system and battery uncomprehensible within an hour Charlie from Duracell replied to me and assisted me with sorting the problem the system is up and running again perfectly I couldn't get better service or a better system. solar plus battery is definitely the way to go

The battery is good (I think) but the app is poor and unreliable and gives me cause to question the whole installation given that it's the route for managing the battery. It's stopped reading solar generation, isn't logging consumption. This morning it's showing insane levels of solar generation and home consumption for the time of day (0750) as it has done for the last two days. Right now the energy summary is showing zero charging while the live monitor is showing the battery charging. At the end of May for 3 days it multiplied solar by 10, appeared to go back to normal for one day then stopped working. I've phoned Duracell twice with the agent promising to call back the next day, nobody did call back. I phoned the installer, Solar Express, got a promise for a same day call back because their consumer unit has stopped working : didn't happen. Duracell think it's a hardware problem. Solar Express say it's a software error. Basically, this is terrible support for a product/service that needs ALL of its components to work together. The system is not robust or fit for purpose (it feels like testing of changes hasn't been done properly) and I'm not a happy customer. Somebody please sort this out, I imagine I'm not the only one feeling aggrieved right now.
Having had the dura 16 battery and 6.5kw inverter installed 2 weeks ago, I have had nothing but issues.
The app, as can be seen from many reviews below, is not fit for purpose. The schedules are more like suggestions, the battery and inverter charge when they want.
My EV charger won’t charge my cars unless the battery is charging, prior to the install of the battery, for 5.5 years I had not one issue with my EV charger, I got a call from a random mobile linked to Duracell, the answer they gave me was “speak to your ev charger company”.
Fortunately I have not made full payment to the company that installed the battery, and I am trying to work with them to get these issues fixed, having read the recent reviews on here, and my personal experience, I could not and would not recommend this company.
Go with another manufacturer and avoid the hassle.
Oh and to add insult to injury, the battery last night decided not to charge at all, given the poor performance to date, that is not a surprise.
I’ve only had the install for 2 weeks and I am having all these issues!

Zero support!! Not answering phone or replying to emails!!

firstly the install was handled like clockwork iheat was very informative i have had 2 systems installed in 2 properties, my issue is the system charges/imports when it wants even though the batteries are charged and over 70% i have a solid comms setup and hardwired to a dedicated router just for this so i know this is not the issue, its becoming very frustrating i need answers.

I have had the Duracell batteries for a year and a half now. The batteries are good. Unfortunately the app lets them down to the point that I feel I don’t have control of how much I charge and sell back to the grid. The app constantly has faults and also the figures are never accurate when you compare it to Octupus energy billing/app. The figures are never real time in certain sections so completely does
not give you an accurate picture of your appliance charge/discharge. When there is maintenance, you can’t plan your charge/discharge as you are never told in advance, even though the function is there in the module. I have tried calling them for several days as big problems with the app. But even after holding 30 mins, it is never answered at their end and then gets disconnected. Big let down. I would have preferred different batteries had I known all this hassle. The customer service are great but this is mainly about the app.

Software and customer service is terrible. Needs much improvement. Monitoring and scheduling all done via an app that is very glitchy. Technical support is very hard to reach. Only way is via phone but whether you get through from one day to the next is like a spin of a roulette machine. Need more technical staff and better software engineers. Even our installers hate setting up Duracell and struggle with PureDrive. Have had plenty of teething problems.
Update 02/06/26 - email sent, thank you.

Absolutely useless - no communication, no product delivered. They use a crap courier (Evri) and only refund after multiple attempts to contact. Seems like a scam.
The response says ‘we don’t use Evri’. Well yes you do and I have receipts and emails.

I’ve never written a review on here before but thought I would visit to read how others are faring whilst trying to contact this company and general experiences.
We went with Duracell for solar and batteries due to it being a trusted British company, that was important to us at the time.
Call centres in the UK etc…
We had reason to contact them numerously round Christmas and all calls were answered promptly and the matter dealt with quickly.
Fast forward to April/May and I’ve not managed to get through once… I get hung up on as they’re too busy routinely. They shut at 4.30 (?) so not ideal when you work and can’t spend hours on hold.
The app to control my system isn’t doing what it’s been told to do and I would appreciate some assistance with in finding out why it is not always responding to discharge orders. Very frustrating when it’s very sunny.
Would love to know how many customer service assistants they have and if they are investing in that side when selling more and more systems.
Currently when I am asked how the system is working, they don’t hear much positive. Which is a shame as the system is very good and the app when it works is very user friendly. Just let down by appalling customer services and a sometimes unreliable app hence the 2 stars as no way to find out how to rectify this apparently…

Terrible customer service. Long queues to speak to someone. They don’t reply to emails nor call back when promised.
I’ve been waiting 3 weeks to fix an issue with the battery!

Raised two tickets via the chatbot about no data on app issue. Online information asked me to download another app which was of no help at all .No response to either ticket, no other obvious way of communicating, very poor customer service

Jamie garwood was first class in his communication with me and went the extra mile on a Friday evening, he did not give up in finding and fixing the fault

Contacted Duracell by support page twice and submitted two support tickets two weeks ago. Todate, I have had no response to my query. Duracell Engery app is not showing correct details example:- solar energy not reaching 100% even when we had full sun. It also showing that I'm using up to 40% energy from grid (previously during winter only use about 7/8 kwh) I live on my own and I am a low energy user. Very frustrating 😕
Was contacted regarding my issues with app around 12.5.26 and thought okay we're getting somewhere now. Still not resolved, last email sent 14.5.26 with photos as requested and heard nothing back whatsoever. I just wish they would sort this.

I have Durall invertor, battery and EV charger.
Loads of problems with the ev charger.
Fitted by an installer but the Duracell app says the Duracell charger does not exist. Phone Duracell for help, no one answers, also you join a queue that never goes down, if you select callback they don't ever call back. I am at my whitsend. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. DURACELL AFTERCARE/CUSTOMER SUPPORT DOES NOT EXIST.
Update .....Following this review Maggie from Duracell has contacted me and it appears resolved the technical issues.
Very grateful to her and Duracell but they should still improve the customer service.
