Disappointing Quality and Poor Durability 👎🏻
The handpan we purchased from Dugimago was a major disappointment in both build quality and durability like anything else from Portugal. It fell out of tune within just two days and the surface developed obvious discoloration on 3rd day of playing it, despite regular care and a light application of oil after each use. Although we were very, very lucky to receive a refund (excluding shipping costs and two week wait), we would strongly advise others to think carefully before buying from this over priced maker. Hello Scott, thank you for your review, we are sorry for the experience that you had, we always give our best to offer quality instruments in a fair value. We understand your frustration on our refusal to offer you handpan accessories for free and for our refusal on your offer to advise our instruments to your neighbors after the refund was issued, but we do want to work with players that are happy with our work and that are genuinly looking for a good instrument. We offer free retunings and repairs on our instruments and specially in cases when the instrument is recently recieved and is not in accordance to the customer taste, even if its a custom order. A discoloration issue can be solved with a refurbishing and polishing of the instrument and a tuning or stability issue can be fixed with a retuning work and rebalancing of the tonefields. So the issues you found on your instrument were fixable for free. But we understood that your priority was a refund and given the case presented to us during the order request we came to the conclusion the instrument was not a priority. Luckily the instrument was refurbished and the Ding tonefield restructured to increase its stability further and the sound of the instrument was very very good and is now with a happy new owner who chose this specific instrument among other instruments that we had available.
