Complete rip-off

Complete rip-off, avoid at all costs! After paying £20 for a full membership, I've received nothing. Updates are non-existent, and people you try to message may delete their profiles later.ete their profiles later.

Completely fake website

I agree with everyone on this review page. The website is either a total scam (membership for purely monetary gain) or best case scenario it’s a catfishing website. I wonder if there is just one or two people pretending to be members and responding to your initial contact in order to rope you in and then completely ghosting you. In life once you’ve left college/university it’s hard enough to find friends; I’m particularly sad to be duped in this way. Whatever you do, don’t join and pay the subscription, as I’m positive it’s a completely fake website. Be warned.

I signed up to Drinking Partners in May

I signed up to Drinking Partners in May 2024 to find female friends and messaged a few people. 4 people responded to my messages but since June/July I never heard from them anymore which is very disappointing 😕
I have tried getting my refund back from DP and they say the £19.95 has been refunded back to PayPal (have checked loads times and nothing is there). So today, 9th September I have now deleted my account and would not recommend this site as it's a rip off and a scam 😠

Not worth your time...

I recently joined this site and decided not to pay the subscription fee of nearly 20 quid. I wanted to see if I got any interest and when no one even looks at your profile.. Knew I was sensible to save my money... So my word of advice.. Pass this site by.

Don't bother

My first attempt at a friendship site. I was looking to make female friends. I came across a profile of someone I knew and realised it was out of date by years! However, I friend requested about a dozen women and barely anyone has even looked at my profile, let alone been in contact. I met up with one potential friend but we didn't have anything in common, and that's it! No more interest from anyone. I suspect all the people on this site have abandoned it years ago! What a waste of 20 quid! Look elsewhere.

First time I have tried one of these…

First time I have tried one of these site's as separated two years ago.
I was looking to make friends, but what a waste of time and had to pay nearly £ 20.00 for the pleasure!
So not free as other members have stated.
Lots of people just look and make no effort to contact you!
In my profile I was willing to make friends with either female or male, as was only looking for a platonic relationship!!
Dare I say I got contacted by a gentleman from Redcar who states he is 60 year's old having a picture of him in a motor bike helmet and on his bike. The truth is he is 72 year's old and looking for sex! This man has a glibe tongue.
I have mentioned this when I removed my profile due to this experience. I know I said I wanted fun but that was days out a drink or a meal. Am I mistaken this app is called drinking partners

False advertising

False advertising, It claims to be a "free" site with an optional subscription but in reality it does not function without the subscription since you cannot read any messages from anyone.

Limited information on other people's accounts, How long have the members been signed up? When were they last active if at all? Does the person I am messaging even have the subscription? Because if they don't it is pointless to even attempt to message them as I have no way of knowing if they will ever be able to see my messages, Which defeats the entire point of the site.

No way to see if the site works without paying and even then the chances look slim going off other reviews. And why would Anyone pay for such a service if you do not know it works and cannot see any proof that it does?

The whole site looks like it is designed to pray on lonely people who are trying to find friends by baiting them into making a free account without obviously stating you cannot communicate with other users without paying and then playing on their desperation to talk to and potentially make new friends by telling them if someone messages them but not be able to see it without paying. Rather than be a service that aims to help people connect and communicate.

Conclusion: Do Not Use. It is essentially a scam.

I don't know if I'm missing something…

I don't know if I'm missing something here... but you can message anyone for free, however the recipient can only see it if they pay £19.95. So I presume no one ever reads your message.

Also no clue as to when a profile was last updated... has the profile to whom you're sending a message even been visited in the past 5 years? The entire thing seems like a waste of time.
