Dr Pooley is an experienced Dr who listens and gives her patient time as well as expertise. She has been professional but also friendly which makes visiting a Dr so much easier.
I have every confidence in her as a Dr.

Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. If you’re looking for someone to take you seriously, rather than a telephone consult in a few weeks from you GP practice, then Emma is where to go.

A very reassuring consultation with Dr Pooley. I felt listened to not rushed. Dr Pooley is kind experienced and explained the medical terminology in a way i could understand. I am very grateful for Dr Pooley's time all at a reasonable fee. Highly recommended.

I wasn't attracted by positive online postings on Dr Emma Pooley as I have little trust in online postings in general. The location was the deciding factor in me booking with this Dr.
I paid £165 for a 30 minute consultation and attended in plenty of time. Approx at least 10 minutes of the allotted time was seemingly taken up by slow IT issues on the Dr's PC.
I was quite shocked as the Dr was quite abrupt and instrusive at one point. Could easily be interpreted as rude.
A couple of days after the consultation the Dr emailed me recommended follow up - something called Nutrigenomics (a relatively underdeveloped genetic science).
The letter was templated (apparantly I have bowel concerns which is news to me..) and detailed the cost of the reports the Dr was recommended which amounted to a lot of money & would include follow sessions with this Dr.
The recommended treatment letter didn't mention any of the suggestions I had raised which are tried and tested.
In an email after the appointment this Dr also suggested a medication due to it's claimed longer half life than my current medication. The drug this Dr suggested actually had a shorter half life & would be less effective than my current medication. The version of the medication this Dr referred to which may have helped isn't available in UK we don't think.
I'm taking an educated guess this Dr takes a healthy cut of the cost of the reports from this third party company. This Dr offered to invoice me. We also found another Nutrigenomics company offering a similar service for less than half the basic price Dr Pooley was quoting (before her extra appointment costs).
I didn't think I wanted to continue treatment with this Dr at this point however I politely emailed to re-suggest the potential follow up options I had in mind and to state Nutrigenomics were an expensive option at this point.
Unfortunately after 5 working days, a reasonable time, I've had no reply. Not even a polite acknowledgement.
I've booked in with a specialist now however basically I've lost £165 with this Dr as presumably the only follow up she was offering carried an exorbitant price and wasn't willing to explore other more practical options.
Most of this appointment after the IT issues was me going over relavent medical history which I'd previously emailed anyway.
Under consumer statutory law there is what is known as 'commonly held reasonable assumptions' regarding a service a customer is purchasing and the quality of the service. This is certainly not what I was reasonably expecting from a £165 30min consultation with a private experienced GP.
Update -
Dr Pooley has sent me a 'response'.
Unfortunately much isn't relavent, shows a lack of understanding of the law and contains multiple inconsistencies.
Only goes to confirm the poor self-interested standards.
