Key Complaints and Legal Issues
Misleading "Free" Products: In January 2024, the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) announced that Dreamscape paid $56,340 in penalties for allegedly misleading customers.
Automatic Renewals & Fees: Between October 2019 and July 2023, the company marketed "3-month website builder" and "additional domain name registration" products as "free" or "gifts," but automatically renewed them into paid subscriptions without clearly disclosing this to consumers at the point of sale.
Domain Privacy Issues: Complaints indicated that the "Domain Privacy" product did not work as advertised, failing to hide contact names or email addresses from public view.
Poor Customer Support & Technical Issues: User reports on platforms like Reddit have alleged poor customer service, with reports of site restoration delays and problems with domain management.
Suspicious Activity Reports: In 2019, the U.S. FDA issued an abuse complaint regarding Crazy Domains/Dreamscape Networks hosting websites that were selling misbranded and unapproved new drugs.
