Avoid

Avoid – serious concerns regarding care and accountability

I left my car with this garage for a service and MOT. It remained with them for nearly three months, during which communication was poor.

During this time, the vehicle was kept outside, despite having an expired MOT. On collection, it had sustained external damage (estimated £2,000+) and was returned with additional faults.

I was informed that vehicles are left “at owner’s risk” and that they accept no responsibility for damage occurring on their premises. This position is not consistent with the standard of care expected when a vehicle is entrusted to a garage for paid work.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend this business.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs – negligence, excuses, and zero accountability

I took my immaculate low mileage 9 year old Maserati Levante in for a minor PAS leak caused by rough road, a routine service and MOT. What followed was nearly three months of delays, dozens of ignored communication, and an absolute complete disregard for my vehicle.

The car was left sitting outside in their yard or on the road for the majority of that time — something I can verify via the vehicle tracker and I’ve retained multiple messages asking them not to park on the road with no mot as my insurance would not cover any damage or loss.

I am out of the country and decided enough was enough and asked for the invoice which I paid straightaway When my driver collected it, the car had suffered £2,000 worth of external damage while in their possession.

Their response says everything you need to know.

I was told:
• cars are left “at owner’s risk”
• it’s no different to parking at Tesco
• they are not responsible if someone hits your car in their yard

Let’s be clear — this is not a supermarket car park. This is a business being paid to look after and work on a customer’s vehicle.

Attempting to hide behind a blanket “owner’s risk” excuse after keeping a car for months and allowing it to be damaged is completely unacceptable.

Communication throughout was non existent and when challenged, the tone quickly shifted to deflection and blame — including suggesting this was somehow my fault for leaving the vehicle with them.

A garage that:
• keeps your car for months and it gains multi faults
• leaves it exposed outside with no mot
• allows it to be damaged
• then refuses responsibility

They purposely never told me of the damage to my car so that I would pay their invoice not knowing my car had been damaged.

Now I’ve written honest and factual negative reviews their response is PAS pipes were corroded away and seals on BCM were rotted. This is a 9 year old low mileage car that has never missed a service.

In past 6 years they’ve traded under multiple different names and request transfer to a totally different limited company to the one on invoice.
Dodgy, unprofessional and not a garage or people you can trust.

All companies have same pics and logo but most misleading are the website pics of Ferraris and Maseratis on a forecourt where reality is it looks like a breakers yard.

This experience has been nothing short of shocking. I would strongly advise anyone to take their vehicle elsewhere. I have nothing to hide so happy to show my name: Carl Courtney

Foolishly did not read trustpilot…

Foolishly did not read trustpilot reviews first! car went in to them 2nd week MARCH - got it back - last week of MAY - it seems the more you complain the longer it takes and once they have the car they have you over a barrel. If they found anything else needing attention it took another couple of weeks. So 10 weeks and Claires response? - they didnt want to do a rush job. I do think there's an element of sociopathic behaviour in the running of this business. They shouldn't be anywhere near a service industry. I constantly explained the car was vital to a single parent with 3 kids but it made no difference.

What a joke

What a joke. Reception service worst I have ever had. Made to wait several times up to 20 minutes plus for her to respond to you at reception. Car booked in for remap. Needed over night due to amount of work. Left over night. No contact the following day even after calling texting and e mailing. The look on her face when i just turned up. Priceless . Ended up just going there and car was still not ready. Waited over an hour and a half. Told it had to be checked work was done. No it wasn't. Only took car in as I was there waiting. When i hot there i went to me car to check it as it was outside and the engine and exhaust was absolutely stine cold. All the work that needed to be done was not required so no need for the car to be there over night at all. Please be warned that they only like cash payments. Mmmmmmmmm ? Took car and engine management light came on within 2 hours. Told to take back. Which I did. Again waited over 20 mins for her to walk from her office into reception. Joke. Was told it was due to bad remap from previous person who had done the remap. Was told that they would contact me and book back in ASAP to sort for me. This was April and still have never heard another word at all. They never chased the payment so says it all. Do not go waste your money here ! Poor poor service. Attitude from her on reception is the worst I have ever experienced !!!!

£400 to tune a classic car, very expensive, took them over a week and even after that the car runs worse then before to the point I can't drive the car anymore. Found out after that they trade under 3+ different names. They might be good but not with classic cars.

Out of interest did you deal with the secretary 'Claire' .
Would be interested to know if she is still doing all the lying to customers and cooking the books.?
If you go on Gov.uk company info you will see how many times this company has changed names and dodged
striking off orders.
How anyone can keep being allowed to trade given thier history is beyond me.
Get your car out of there post haste and get it sorted elswhere or take the matter to trading standards.

Llandow Tuning / DragonAuto.Works - nightmare experience

DragonAuto.Works now operating under Llandow Tuning
I've been totally done over by them. Mapped my car from they day they did it it didn’t work but still charged me £250. Told me to come back with a glow plug module. Did this come back. The kid changing the part i caught googling how and where it goes on the car. Watched him smash my wheels with a hammer take my light out and and eventually took my wheel off a job that should've taken 20 min took 1hr and a half. Charge a further £80 even though it was there problem. They should never have charged. Now they are not responding and i don't know what to do my car cannot be motd until this is done as they have left a engine management light on it. HOPE THIS HELPS PLLLLEASSSSSSSEEEEE AVOID!!!!!!

I strongly advise avoiding Dragon Auto…

I strongly advise avoiding Dragon Auto Works if you're considering them for your car repairs, especially if you own a BMW. I brought my car in for a window regulator replacement, and they had my vehicle for two weeks—an excessive amount of time for such a repair. Despite the long wait, the issue was not resolved.

When I brought the car back, they kept it for another half a week, yet the problem is still not fixed to an acceptable standard. Their lack of expertise and professionalism is shocking, and it's clear they are NOT BMW specialists as they may claim to be.

Save yourself the frustration and wasted time—look for a trustworthy and qualified mechanic elsewhere. Dragon Auto Works is not the place for quality service or reliable repairs.

I would give them no stars if i could....

AVOID THESE COWBOYS

AVOID. AVOID.AVOID.
Dragon Auto Works also operating under Llandow Tuning.
The woman at the desk who seems to be the main contact is so rude!
She said car would be ready in one week. Two weeks goes by and no contact from them.
After 3 weeks, as very difficult to contact she says mechanic off sick will be ready next week.
After 4 weeks same excuse!
I collected my car no work done at all just sitting there for four weeks!
This is a cowboy outfit big time.
Found out to my regret that all the bad reviews are true.
Excuse after excuse.
Go elsewhere stay away from these cowboys. If i could have left zero stars i would have. One star is too much for this lot.
Awful experience. It’s people like this that give the trade a bad name.
I believe they now trade as Llandow auto tuning as Dragon Auto Works is no longer registered as a business.
This i would think is down to the very bad reviews so new name new company? They are both the same!
I have never ever dealt with such horrible people who lie to you time after time.
Reminder…..AVOID!!!!!!

I’ve never wished i could give negative…

I’ve never wished i could give negative stars more than to this absolute dangerous bunch of cowboys
This company has given us back a dangerous vehicle, not once but 4 times!
Our vehicle has been returned with parts that were not the originals and not fit for purpose. The actual competent mechanic that now has our vehicle asked ‘who have you pissed off?’ And followed up by stating that they haven’t even screwed pipes back in, they’ve replaced our new battery (a Yuasa 80ah) bought in May 2023 and barely used) with a dead, non-suitable one (mini 65ah) and appear to have pried open our differential which could have been catastrophic.
A lot of money that we had to scrape together has been spent to get a working vehicle back to us, which ultimately has not happened. Our car had to be sold for scrap, due to the state of it.
Not only were we mocked by Claire and her partner that we struggled to get these funds, but they additionally attempted to charge us more after their 16 months stream of corrupt behaviours.
They claimed that we abandoned the car for a year! We broke down in October 22 and handed the cash to them in January 23 (3 months) and our car has not been in working order since. Bearing in mind we hadn’t been contacted once in this time which is evidently true to their nature throughout all other dealings. Apparently that 3 months warrants potential man slaughter via incompetence and sabotage.
Please protect your families and avoid this joke of a garage.

Don’t let Dragon ruin your car!

Having posted a lengthy review elsewhere I would like to reiterate that Dragon Autos are incompetent and not to be trusted. I took my then 10 year old mini (62 plate, 63 registered) to them last year for a new timing chain. It was in excellent condition for the year and had FSH with a recent service, and had sailed through the last mot. Its only issue was the timing chain which is normal at 100k miles. It was discussed whether to replace the clutch pre-emptively though currently fine, and I was happy to go along with this to save future labour expense as Claire (receptionist) agreed the car was excellent for its age. In fact she said it would ‘be good for another 100k miles with new timing chain and clutch’ I was initially told the fly wheel was fine but then that actually should be replaced as well. Again I was happy with this as I intended to keep the car indefinitely. The repair went ahead but I was unable to collect the day it was supposedly ready so they kept it over the weekend. However by Monday they discovered a ‘small oil leak’. They assured me they would sort this and return the car to me later the same day but this didn’t happen and I tried, unsuccessfully, to contact them for the next 5 days to find out what was happening. I therefore went back only to find no engine in the car and was told the engineer had initially reassembled it wrong and it had to be done again. I think it is of note that on this day there was a queue of dissatisfied customers with various issues. A week later my car was ready. I collected it and it was filthy inside and out. On driving home the sidelight warning light came on. Having by now lost confidence in Dragon I took it elsewhere and it transpired one bulb was missing and other left with wire trailing.
The next problem was air con not working. I decided I would have to approach Dragon about this as nothing had been mentioned and it was a bigger issue than the lights. I went to Dragon and found an engineer who told me the unit was corroded so they couldn’t refill it. I asked why I hadn’t been told and he told me to ask Claire (receptionist) who was out. I waited for her return and began to ask saying ‘I’ve noticed the air con isn’t working and hasn’t been refilled…..’ only for her to interrupt aggressively to insist that it had. I said I had already been told by the engineer that it hadn’t and that he claimed the unit was corroded. I asked why, if that was the case, I hadn’t been told and asked if she thought the all round service I had received…..engine reassembled wrong, no contact, lights not connected, air con not refilled but not advised…,was acceptable. I asked this calmly, not in ‘Karen mode’ as she has claimed in response to my previous review. Her response was again aggressive. She stated mistakes happen and she didn’t know what I expected her to do about it. At that point I left. A few weeks later an oil leak appeared under my car. It wasn’t a significant amount and I was doing minimal mileage so I decided to monitor it rather than risk returning it to Dragon to do more damage and have to deal with Claire’s aggression. However the leak was picked up on the next mot as an ‘advisory’ and was getting worse so I took the car to a reputable garage to have it investigated. I was told that when the timing chain was replaced the timing chain cover was broken and there had been a bodged attempt to repair it with Liquid Metal. This has failed, causing the oil leak and repairing now would be very expensive. This damage and bodged repair could only have happened whilst the engine was in bits and Dragon are the only garage who have ever had access to it. It was 24/06/23 when I collected the car so Dragon’s ‘12 month warranty’ would still be valid so not ‘over a year’ as stated in Claire’s response to my other review. However as I wouldn’t trust them with a pedal car the warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. I only wish I had read other reviews about the poor service, CCJ’s against them and Claire’s attitude before spending £2K there only for them to ruin my car.
