I accidentally booked the car under the wrong main driver's name and thought I would lose my reservation. Instead of simply rejecting my request, DoYouItaly contacted Italy Car Rent and worked to find a solution. They exceptionally approved the driver change, and I received an updated voucher. A special thank you to Yana and the Italy Car Rent team for their professionalism and outstanding customer service. This is exactly how customer support should work. Highly recommended!

Basically, the reason given by the rental desk for refusing the hire was that my John Lewis Mastercard was not issued by a bank. Italy Car Hire would not accept the card and this effectively lost me over £600 paid to the Broker DoYouItaly.
The conditions relating to acceptable payment cards are technical, unclear, and fail to set out, in a clear and explicit manner, which categories of cards would or would not be accepted.

Conclusion, paiement de 530 euros supplémentaire sans nécessité. Autrement dit: jeu sous la table

Hello,
We want your rental process to be smooth, and card acceptance at the desk is managed by the car rental company while all options regarding the excess supplement and its cancellation before the start date are clearly outlined in the details of your booking voucher. For a closer review of your case and guidance on the steps taken at the counter, please contact help@doyouitaly so we can assist you directly.
Kind regards,

1) this is a pure « roulette » game where they gonne keep exchanging information until the client drop it all. Yeah you are masters to write small exception where it can not be seen by the client. I have never faced this issue with : Skyscanner, Ryanair, car rental ( which are brokers), not talking about Europcar, sixt, Avis…..etc.
the main issue here is more than the fact itself, DOYOUITALY will continue to bring excuse after excuse and pointing the issues on the car rental agency. Again: my two credits cards could not be read by the machine at the fleetrent counter at the airport of brindisi. Is it a coincidence ? Where on the other hand, on other agencies, they required credit card but accept as well debit card to reserve money.
In a nutshell: people, please pay attention for this. My original rental for 8 days was 430 euros premium insurance included. They requested me to pay 530 euros with my debits card to only get the insurance at the desk. Hahahahha funny, an insurance that cost more that the rental of the car.

Arrived to collect the car at one of their recommended companies “Auto System” the workers were so rude and then refused to accept our credit card as it had initials on it and not full name. Wouldn’t accept my partner’s credit card either. Charged us an additional 950€ because of not having a credit card with our full name on. This has cost us more than the hire car itself. The same happened to 2 other couple whilst we were in there (one had no numbers on their credit card but could provide it on the app). Quite frankly a complete SCAM. I will not be using do you Italy or any of their companies ever again.

I was not able to pay with credit card, the relevant data entry field did not accept any input.

First- time user and so when actually complicating issues by booking TWO cars,I feared the worst…but all good..!Two individual bookings in succession have worked well…( to this point!)

At the web site, it was written that they fo not need credit card. After reservation was made they sent me email with information that I have to take credit card with 900 euro deposit. I sent email about this issue and I was waiting 3 hours somebody to contact me. Nobody contacted me, even wrote something to explain. I have full proof, screenshots and emails. I have canceled order and waiting to return money. I leave to my lawer to do the job if they do not return money.

Marta from customer service replied here telling me to email an other email address. This is just for show to look good in public! I sent my very first email to this exact address and I have never received a single response from that address. Your customer service (via an other address) is already rejecting my claim under ticket DYI-205693665. Stop pretending to care and redirecting me to dead-end email addresses. I am still waiting for a real manager to contact me on my actual ticket.

We booked through DoYouItaly, but when we arrived at Bergamo airport, their partner Green Motion (located outside the terminal) was completely closed.
To save our trip, I had to rent another car on the spot and pay a fortune. DoYouItaly's customer service (Yana & Bianca) completely refuses to cover the extra costs caused by their own partner's failure, hiding behind cheap excuses.
This company does not protect its customers at all. Case forwarded to the European Consumer Centre (ECC). Avoid them!

I had a very disappointing experience with this company. When I arrived to collect the car, they refused to give it to me because they required an International Driving Permit. This requirement was never clearly communicated during the booking process. It was only hidden in the terms and conditions, which is not acceptable for such an important requirement.
As a result, I was unable to collect the car and lost the full amount I had already paid. A key requirement like this should be displayed prominently before payment, not buried in the contract.
I would not recommend this company. Be very careful before booking and make sure to read every line of the terms and conditions, otherwise you may lose your money without receiving any service.

I have booked a car with doyouitaly, paid the deposit and a few days later prior to picking up the car, I have also paid excessive insurance.
At the pickup day, the rental company refused to rent the car even I was holding my Canadian passport and driver's license. They claimed they also need international driver's license even though it wasn't stated at doyouitaly website.
They didn't refund the money

Your response to our previous review is highly unsatisfactory. You cannot deflect your responsibility so easily.
As a broker, you are complicit in the unfair and deceptive practices committed by your local partner.
We have carefully reviewed the General Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) you provided at the time of booking, and absolutely nothing specifies or clearly indicates the astronomical fees required to change the primary driver, even in a duly justified case of force majeure.
This lack of clarity constitutes a clear violation of your statutory pre-contractual information obligation (in accordance with Articles L.111-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, applicable to travel intermediaries). Furthermore, Article 1112-1 of the French Civil Code states that the duty of information covers any information that is of decisive importance for the consent of the other party. The total cost of a service, including its modification terms in the event of an emergency, is undeniably a decisive element.
By charging "administrative fees" or enforcing a "complete re-pricing" that was never clearly quantified in the initial contract signed via your platform, you are validating hidden fees. This is organized opacity.
A broker's role is not merely to collect a commission. You are the guarantor of the transparency of the offers you promote. If your local partner applies arbitrary rates during urgent modifications without a clear contractual basis, and you maintain this partner on your website while refusing to arbitrate the dispute in favor of the aggrieved customer, you assume full contractual liability and complicity in a deceptive commercial practice by omission.
In light of your passivity and refusal to resolve this dispute fairly, we are taking this matter to the next level. We are formally filing a complaint for unfair and aggressive commercial practices with the AGCM (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e du Mercato) as well as with the competent European authorities, notably through the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) and the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform.
Exploiting a customer's vulnerability in a situation of force majeure (theft of identity/travel documents) to impose disproportionate, non-contractual fees under the threat of losing the entire booking constitutes an aggressive commercial practice within the meaning of European Directive 2005/29/EC. Consumer law is not optional, even for an online broker. We will let the regulatory authorities handle it from here.

A completely fraudulent platform. After we werescammed regarding our car rental reservation, they simply ignored us. Even after we Sent them an email they did not bothwr to reply , not even after 15 days. After the rental car company we found through their platform wrongfully withheld our deposit , they did not even bother to try to resolvezhe issue. It is a shame that there isno zero-star rating
After your latest reply, I am convinced that not only is this a fraudulent platform, but that you are also the most unprofessional platform I have ever dealt with.
You did not even bother to read that I have already sent you several emails over the past 15 days, and you have not responded to a single one. The only replies I receive are the same automated bot messages every time.
I have no words for such inconsistency and lack of professionalism.
Is there a rating below zero? Because that is the least you deserve.

It is extremely easy to make that reservation, I’m very impressed. Good job.
scam company, they hooked us up with dryyve for a car rental place, we were forced into being upsold for kms that were supposed to have been unlimited. after 14hrs of travel, which they count on you be tired, i laid down and paid whatever. not like we ere at a rental car place on airport property, this place needed a shuttle to get to. lesson learned, rent from a franchise, you at least have some accountability up the line to the brand for issues.
