I have been very pleased with the advice and outcomes of having used Douglas Steers, more specifically, Matt Vivian, as my IFA. Matt provided clear advice regarding the options available for my specific financial circumstances. He was very patient and able to explain any queries, examined my attitude to risk and was realistic about market volatility.
Matt is knowledgeable, professional and friendly and very punctual, despite travelling several times to where I live in Kent. He is prompt in following up in writing accounts of each meeting and sending written information regarding the financial products I'd chosen. On the rare occasions when I needed to contact Matt he has responded immediately and clarified any issues.
I've just had my first annual review and I'm more than happy with the results of my investments.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Matt as an excellent IFA.

I would like to backtrack on my previous review as Toby has since worked tirelessly hard to sort out my husband’s pension. All the delay was the fault of our previous pension company. Thank you so much for all your help and support Toby - we couldn’t have achieved our result without you!

My husband has been waiting since March 2024 to cash in his pension with Douglas Steers and he has had every excuse under the sun after he was first advised it would take 5 weeks to complete and we are still waiting- from the staff member who was dealing with our case incorrectly entered the wrong information ( why was this never checked 🙈) being cut off the phone when trying to contact them on numerous occasions, to our policy is a difficult one and finally the computers are down! Not getting back to us when advised.

We needed financial advice regarding our pensions. After doing some research, I approached Douglas Steers in 2023 and was contacted by Neil Summers. Neil made an appointment to meet us at our home and discussed our requirements, our attitude to risk, our financial goals etc. He was patient and thorough.
Neil returned this year with the first annual review and our investments have grown satisfactorily.
To date, we have had a very positive experience working with Neil at Douglas Steers and are happy to recommend them.

In March 2023 I decided that I needed a financial adviser to help me to improve the performance of my pension pot which was then worth less than my employers and I had paid in.
I used a link from the Pension Wise website to identify a financial adviser and Douglas Steers Company was from that search. I checked the company on the FCA register before meeting one of their financial advisers , Mr Neil Summers.
Neil came to my home and we discussed my financial situation and attitude to risk in investments. Neil gave me advice about merging pensions into one SIPP which Douglas Steers would manage.
In May 2023 I signed the paperwork to go ahead.
In the past year I have been very pleased with the fund performance. I can log in and see the fund activity and value at any time.
On 9 July 2024 , Neil visited my home to review my pension plan and check my attitude to risk I am renewing our contract for another year.
To date, am very satisfied with the services of Douglas Steers and Neil summers in particular. Neil is very pleasant, polite, professional and punctual.

For me, retirement was daunting. There were so many options to consider, and not wanting to choose the wrong one, a financial advisor seemed the way to go. Neil Summers help me through this explaining clearly my choices. Transferring my pensions to one wealth manager and monitoring their investment, as well as having an advisor on call (should I have any questions or wishes) has worked well for me.

I simply do not believe the other reviews!

Poor communication. Are they real? Call the office....Mobile service answer phone? No real desire to take on my business. Not good. Not a good feeling all around. Thanks but NO THANKS!

Called for advice on policies we had taken out with Douglas Steers a few years ago, was told David Steers would call back but had no call
Called again left both my contact number and my husbands but still we have not had a call back

I took great care in choosing Douglassteers, and approached with caution, I have always been nervous of scams, investments and pension fraud. I had nothing to worry about, everything went smoothly, and I am confident my pension investments are in the best place. Neil visited again recently, offering us complete faith in our investments. That's one big worry off my mind.

Thank you to Douglas Steers & company, I decided to retire due ro medical issues and needed to sort my pension situation, but was very warey due to the hype of stolen pensions etc, enter Jake Greenleaf. he came to visit and to discuss the available options for accessing my funds, he was unhurried and took the time to explain and importantly to listen inspite of what I percieved to be his busy schedule. he stressed that I should check himself and the company through the FCA which I did (You Should do the same) having agreed a strategy and documents signed, the process has been painless and I have been seeing my money transfered to a trusted provider. so far so good.

Once they had our money invested, they appeared to lose interest and simply ignored us. In three and a half years only spoke to them once after chasing them, despite them promising a yearly face to face catch up. And the funds didn't do very well either, after their fees were deducted. If you value regular contact then use somebody else.

Justin, visited at home on two occasions, we were very impressed with the service we received. He took time and care to understand our situation and our needs and obtained the necessary information from our pension providers. He was friendly and knowledgeable and explained things in a way that we could understand. He was very honest and open in our advice to and left us feeling he really wanted to do the best for us.
