Cannot thank the team at Donnini enough. The care and support they offered when we had cause to seek an extended stay for an aging family member was fantastic and very much appreciated. The apartment was exactly as shown on site and offered a clean, comfortable, spacious home away from home for 6 weeks. Overall, very impressed.

Donnini appartments Troon
My friends and i stayed thus weekend at Portland Penthouse Appartment in Troon run by Donnini Appartments. Everything was perfect the arrival and departure were seamless all done online. The appartment itself had everything you need and more it was spotless and had great views. The beds were anazing and it was perfect having a lift and it was walking distance to shops resturants and bars. We will certainly be back and would recommend to all of our friends. The staff were also very attentive phoning and emailing to check everything was going OK. Thanks again.

Short stay in Ayr
The apartment was exactly how it looked in the photos.
It was warm and clean but there seemed to be some dog or human hair around.
Comfy bed, thick towels snd the basic cleaning pack to get you started.
It's in a fairly commercial area but about a 20 minute walk into the centre of Ayr. It would be a good base to see the area but it's not a holiday type of property to me. Could park easily close by and supermarkets and takeaways were handy.
Information on the app was good and I got a call and text from Andy to check if everything was fine.
The only things that could be improved on would be a mirror in the bedroom near a socket so you can dry your hair and the water was not quite hot enough to wash up as we felt we had to boil the kettle to wash up properly.
Not sure if I will come to Ayr again but the accommodation itself was good

Avoid at all cost
I read a previous review that said the bathroom was ‘tired’, I disagree. It is completely exhausted. Badly damaged sink glued back together, front bath panel completely loose. Bath faucet didn’t work (they did replace it with 2 plumber visits).
The washing machine leaked and I was not able to use it for a week. I was compensated but that was trivial in face of the inconvenience.
Bed had no mattress pad, only a sheet that was too small to tuck in and a very worn duvet. I used my own bedding.
Very worn, dirty, burn marks and paint dripped all over the carpet. Nails sticking up through the vinyl flooring which was worn and damaged.
Flat above mine leaked water through into the closet for a week rendering the only real storage in the flat unusable. Donnini did bring a temporary clothes rack after a week but never offered to clean up the mess the bathwater from the flat above had made prior to my moving my belongings back into the closet.
The pots were so old and filthy that I would not have fed a dog from them.
The final straw is that the building owner, who Donnini lets from has keys and sends people to perform inspections without notice, Donnini claims. However, Donnini also, on 3 occasions had their employees enter or try to enter the flat I was paying them a very hefty rent for, with no notice or permission. Once entering while I was not there and leaving a bottle of prosecco, I don’t drink and it gave me a very uncomfortable feeling. Once to bring the clothes rack, I was there and their employee would have walked right in on me had I not had the chain on. And finally, to read the meter, no notice, I was there and due to his prior experience of me being there, knocked and I let him in. He had a key and would have let himself in had I not been there. Donnini demonstrated a total disrespect of me, my safety and right to feel comfortable in what was my temporary ‘home’.
I would not only not recommend them, I would in the strongest terms advise you avoid staying in any of their properties.
UPDATED RESPONSE TO DONNINI'S COMMENTS
I did mention I received compensation for the washing machine leaking and being unusable for a week, I just didn't specify exactly what the compensation was, I did say it didn't make up for the inconvenience.
I didn't forget to mention you replaced the filthy, worn pots because you replaced them with such cheap pots that the only one I used lost some of it nonstick finish the first time I used it and took out the food with the cheap plastic tools that came with the set. So, I didn't use them any more and felt I had pointed out enough of the serious deficiencies in your apartments and response to the many problems I encountered while I stayed there.
None of the 3 Donnini visits I mentioned were urgent. All could have been scheduled the required 24 hours in advance. I was extremely accommodating to all the personnel who came to the apartment. I wish I had been treated as accommodatingly. There is no valid excuse.
I would still recommend against staying in any of your properties.

Great hotel, super comfortable.
We had a wonderful two night stay at the Kylstrome hotel in Ayr. Easy booking, instructions for access and information about our room were clear and super helpful. Although the hotel was unmanned, you didn’t notice and support was on hand when you needed it (thanks to Andy). The room was so comfortable and facilities were super. Overall, would recommend and will be staying here again if we return to the area.

We had such a great experience with Jake and the team at Donini Apartments Ayr. They really went above and beyond while we were away, taking amazing care of our home and leaving everything absolutely spotless for our return — it honestly made such a difference coming back to a place that felt so fresh and looked after.
What meant even more to us was how kind and understanding they were when we had to come back unexpectedly from Dubai. It was a stressful time, and their empathy and support didn’t go unnoticed.

I stayed in Cuthbert House a couple of weeks. Donnini were easy to contact and discuss booking.
The apartment was everything I hoped for. There was an issue with a small roof leak which was attended within the day.
I left some stuff in the apartment and this was saved for me. Excellent work from all.

Christmas luxury
Stayed Xmas Eve till Boxing Day . The staff were wonderful so helpful and our property was stunning . Highest standard of renovation of this Victorian property a mixture balance of tradition and modern minimalism we .just loved it . An air fryer would maybe a nice touch to accommodate the abundance of food that you cook for Xmas dinner but luckily I took mine with me . Have booked this again for next year as it was faultless

What a Luxury house with all mod cons
What a Luxury house with all mod cons. A touch of class with the games room and the living room with the open plan kitchen was superb. Also the inclusion of an Air Fryer brings it really up to modern day. Each bedroom had its own television and the beds were really comfortable. All round a really enjoyable stay for my 60th birthday.

I have stayed with Donnini a few times now when visiting the area. My stays have all been faultless and I've loved each property that I have stayed in. The staff have also been very helpful and informative on the phone. I love the no contact check in. Donnini are my go to for my trips to Ayrshire and I'll definitely keep returning.

Terrible accommodation, can’t help but feel we’ve been scammed.
We recently stayed in the Sunset View house, and were incredibly disappointed both by our stay and by the response from Donnini Apartments. We will never book with them again, and would recommend against booking with them to others.
We originally booked to stay in Wellington View however were informed the week before our booking that that property was now unavailable due to requiring repairs and that we had been “upgraded”. We later found that the house we had been moved to had a cheaper nightly rate than the one we booked and paid for.
The house was in a state of disrepair and smelled heavily of urine, smoke, and occasionally cannabis. The worst culprits for this were one of the bedrooms and the sofa, resulting in us sitting on the floor in the living room. The carpets were stained in many places, a brutal combination with the smell, making the property feel unclean.
The downstairs bathroom had a yellowing, non-functional (not that we would have used it) bidet installed on the toilet. The ceiling was cracking, the sealant around the shower desperately needed redone, and the extractor fan was purely decorative.
The kitchen was more functional than the bathroom- a low bar it stumbled over. The fridge had one shelf and froze all of our food. The provided crockery featured broken rims, chipped plates, and unbelievable flat cutlery.
Our issues with the property were, as noted, extensive and we emailed Donnini Apartments to inform them, not seeking a refund or credit, just to inform. We were supplied with an AI generated apology. This is not customer service. This is not genuine or respectful. We replied, stating we were dissatisfied with the response and were offered a £60 credit to rebook, despite stating that we will not be booking with them again.
All in all, would recommend steering clear of this company. We don’t know the state of the other properties, but with this stunning example of customer service, it seems unlikely that if there was to be an issue you would get any help or even an apology.
