I went to the Dollar Tree in…Waynesboro, Never Again!

I went to the Dollar Tree in Waynesboro, Ga to get my cousin's daughter some baby books because she's having a baby soon and I also went to ask for a cord for my phone and immediately when I walked in this cashier with long black braids, 5'10 in height, dark complexioned was on her phone and had a terrible attitude towards me just because I asked her do they sell phone cords to go to the radio and instead of her helping me find it, she continued to roll her eyes at me while I was being polite and she was texting on her phone. Then while I was looking for baby books in the book aisle she was watching me making me uncomfortable and texting on her phone. When I finally got ready to pay for the baby books she lied about the price and over charged me and then when I gave her 52 cents that I owed her she demanded I give her more change and didn't tell me why. I have had enough of those cashiers, and I want action. I don't know her name, but she looks like she is in her 20s. She was very rude, lazy, and hostile and these attitudes need to end. I have seen her do this to other customers in the past.

There had been 12 customers in line

There had been 12 customers in line. I had patiently waited my turn. It makes a turn around the corner, then youre next for self checkout. There was a customer looking still at items in front the registers. I went around her, cause i was next. Store MANAGER. Saw me go around her, told me i was passing in line, like i was 6yrs old, and go to the back of the line. I just shoved the buggy across the front walked out, after i had stood in line bout 15mins.

I am finished with Dollar Tree

I am finished with Dollar Tree! Once again, they have raised their prices...now to $1.75. They need to change their name as "DOLLAR" no longer will buy you anything! A lot of their items aren't even worth $1.75! I'd rather patronize other discount businesses in the area, pay more, and get twice the product for my money for less....Baldwinsville New York

False advertising

Today I went into store #7634 in the Memphis, TN area. I purchased several items. A couple of the items were bundled wash cloths that had a $5 tag on them. When I was checking out at the register they rang up for $6. The gentleman ringing me up stated he was the manager and an override could not be done, even though the packaging clearly stated the price of $5. Shame on you Dollar Tree for having untruthful advertising and not honoring prices on the products.

Price Gouging on last year's merchandise!

I fully understand that retailers are under pressure to remain profitable in the wake of tariffs and a tough economy. However, it looks like Dollar Tree may be engagng in opportunistic price gouging as a result. It's been a while since Dollar Tree rebranded itself as 'Dollar Tree Plus' with prices ranging from $1.25 " and up." However, now there's a new wrinkle in the 'and up' pricing -- marking over existing $1.25 prices printed directly on the item packages and now charging $1.50! Stores raise prices -- I 'get' that. But just putting a black permanent marker line through a printed on price instead of a covering sticker? Perhaps it's fair to say that when there is a diagonal 'hand-marked' line through a price (pre-printed or with a price sticker) the average customer associates that marking with a PRICE REDUCTION -- not a price increase! How stupid can they be? And how stupid do they think their customers are? And some of the items marked $1.25 didn't even have the slash marks, but still rang up at $1.50 at the register. When I pointed out the discrepancy in the price of one of the items to the cashier, mentioning that it was last year's merchandise, so only the 'new' ones should have the higher price, she replied, "but they have the same UPC number." Yes, an excuse for just raising prices throughout the store when most of that merch has been there for a quite a long time. It feels like they are just trying to take advantage of customers.

Cards and price changing

I utilize dollar tree alot for cards - birthdays, anniversaries, holidays - but there is no consistency on the cards being stocked. Went in yesterday and was disappointed to see the card area again in shambles and not stocked.
I've noticed - after I left the store - items marked as $1.25 now have red stickers and they are charging $1.50 for that item. Is this legal?
It's a dollar store not a $1.25, $1.50.....
Still good deals but not pleased with the stores upkeep now and price changing. Honor what the item is marked.....

Dollar tree was always my favourite…

Dollar tree was always my favourite store. I preferred it to Dollarama. Prices were good and the selection adequate. I don’t have a dollar tree in my town, and always thought of it as a treat to visit one. I was very disappointed the last 2 times I visited. Prices are high ( up to $3) yet the quality or selection did not change. I would argue that Dollarama is better quality, selection and prices nowadays. I won’t bee seeking out Dollartree anymore. If you do shop there, know your prices. Some are higher than a grocery store.

Different locations of the same…

Different locations of the same retailer are always different with store upkeep, layout and employees. Way I see it is that all trees grow, therefore, Dollar Tree is holding up to its name. Not everything in the store is going up or has gone up in price. Lots of new merchandise each week! Many people can't accept that the COL (cost of living) is going up, companies are having to pay the up price for same merchandise.

Dollar Tree JUNK!

More often than not, whatever I buy at Dollar Tree is just about worthless. And furthermore, they need to change their name because nothing there costs a dollar. Many items have gone to $1.50, $3, $5, etc. I bought the Vantage Car Wash & Wax for $3 and it is pure junk, mostly water. I could have spent $1 more at Walmart and got the stuff I usually use and it is great. I am going to boycott Dollar Tree and you should too. They sell crap and crap isn't a bargain at any price.

Dollar Tree is not Dollar tree if the price items are greater than one dollar

Dollar Tree is more than a brand—it is a promise. A promise to the frugal shopper, the single parent stretching a budget, the college student making every penny count. The very name Dollar Tree evokes an expectation: one dollar, one item. Not Greater Tree. Not Almost Dollar Tree. Just Dollar Tree.
If a company can no longer uphold the standard embedded in its identity, perhaps it’s time to reconsider its place in the marketplace. A name should carry meaning—not just marketing. Price hikes erode consumer trust and betray the principles upon which loyal customers rely.
If Dollar Tree cannot stand by the dollar, then respectfully, it should step aside. A name should not be a relic of past promises but a reflection of present reality.
