DIAH get 5 stars from me! Originally an Amazon order, didnt have enough for direct free delivery or website offers.
Package damaged in transit, obviously packed well. Amazon wanted to refund entire order despite me advising no need, one beer pack was good, only one was damaged. They further wanted me to return the split pack. Contacted DIAH direct who immediately made it right, I would bin split pack, replacement sent, photos exchanged for them to take up with courier.
100% would order again from DIAH - keen prices and fantastic customer service. Thanks people!

A complete rip off - avoid and shop elsewhere.
A complete rip off. I ordered a number of items totalling over £200 and although the order was processed and dispatched swiftly the items received were not the items order. Instead I received a lower quality and lower price version. I had previously ordered a variety of options to test which would best suit my intended usage so this rip off did not go unnoticed, as I assume DIAH hoped. Customer services are uncontactable by phone and despite promising to send out replacement items I subsequently received a second set of the incorrect and lower priced items. My advice based on this experience is to avoid this company and shop elsewhere.

28mm screw tops are terrible quality
28mm screw tops are terrible quality. Was hoping that I had just had a few bad batches of these lids but unfortunately not. A large percentage of these lids are faulty, don’t close properly and just spin on bottles. I’ve had customer returns galore and the amount of dodgy lids is increasing. The crimper is also a nightmare to use, can’t believe a better quality one which is easier to use can’t be developed. I contacted the company on Facebook and they actually responded saying they were from an EU supplier so nothing they could do. No offer of a refund or anything and they just didn’t reply to my last message. I’ve had to rebrand due to these lids.

Chasing delivery of two 5 litre demi johns
I ordered two 5 litre demi johns through Amazon on 28th November 2025 and as of today the 39th December have not received them. Amazon cannot confirm a delivery date and your courier Hermes/ Evri are apologising for late delivery.

We have checked your shipment on our side and can confirm that the parcel has not been delivered. In cases like this, it most often means the glass items have been damaged in transit, despite being very carefully packed, and the parcel has been held or removed from the courier network.
As your order was placed via Amazon, we have now requested an urgent refund to be issued through Amazon so that you receive your money back as quickly as possible.
For any future issues, the fastest way for us to help is if you contact us directly via the same channel where the order was placed (Amazon messages). This allows us to react immediately – either by arranging a replacement or by starting a refund straight away.
We hope that the way we have resolved this situation is satisfactory, and if you feel that we have addressed the problem fairly, we would be grateful if you could consider updating your review.

faulty lids
I have ordered 200ml jars with lids, none of the lids would close properly. I would like to get good quality lids. Why have you not tested quality of your products?

We are very sorry that the 200 ml jars you received did not close properly with the lids – this is not the experience we want for our customers. Our glass jars and lids are supplied by different manufacturers and, although they are made to matching standards and we perform quality checks on each batch, occasional compatibility issues can unfortunately still occur.
For customers who need a very tight and reliable seal, we usually recommend testing a small batch of jars and lids together first, or using a dedicated capping tool to ensure even, consistent closure on every jar.
Of course, this does not change the fact that in your case the product did not meet expectations. If you would like, we can send you a different type of lids and make sure they fit and close properly with your jars.
Please contact our customer service team with your order number so we can arrange a suitable solution for you as quickly as possible. We take product quality and customer satisfaction very seriously, and your feedback helps us improve.

This company has very competitive prices, for good quality products. I made an order which I needed very quickly so paid for next day delivery. The order was dealt with very quickly but the carrier let them down, however, this was resolved satisfactorily and we were very pleased with the service.

Charging for stock they dont have
Firstly my Google review seems to have gone missing that I placed yesterday? I placed an order for some beer kits and to avoid the freight charge like most people padded the order to avoid the freight. Order arrived minus one of the beer kits although its still showing available on the site, and as I had to brew both on the same day ive had to drive 40 miles to pick up another kit and now have items I dont really need as I wanted to avoid the freight. The company apologised but they are still taking orders for an item that not in stock. Not well organised, just because you pay for an item, it doesn't mean they actually have it.
You didn't actually repay me straight away, not until I brought it to your attention that you hadn't shipped the item.

You are right that the beer kit you ordered should not have appeared as available if we were unable to send it. In this case there was an internal stock discrepancy: our warehouse count for that kit was incorrect, which caused the website to show it as in stock even though the last unit was no longer physically on the shelf.
When we discovered this during packing, on the same day your order was shipped – we immediately refunded the full value of the missing beer kit and informed you by email at that time. From our side the refund and communication were carried out straight away, but we fully understand how frustrating it is to lose the free-shipping threshold, end up with extra items you didn’t really need and then have to travel to buy another kit elsewhere.
We are already tightening our stock control so that beer kits and other home brewing products are only shown as available when they are physically in our warehouse. Our aim is to provide reliable stock information, act quickly when something goes wrong, and offer a service that home brewers in the UK can trust.

Great service from Do it at home. Ordered my wine making equipment on Monday and received it on Wednesday. A very clear transparent website, compared to others , not only was it delivered quickly but also cheaper, and with free delivery on orders over £60. I saved myself £21 , So I think this will be the place I will be ordering from in future.

I've been ordering from Do it at Home for years and their service is second to none.
