A very good, professional company. My case was personally handled by Shannon Patrick, who is the End of Tenancy Property Manager. I can speak of her in nothing but the highest terms. She resolved... See more

Matthew was great and really helpful!
Working with Christopher Nicol during our home search was an absolute pleasure! He provided wonderful support every step of the way, showing incredible patience, deep market knowledge, and genuine care for what we were looking for. He made what could have been a stressful process feel smooth and enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a better partner in finding our home. Highly recommended!
I recently had the need to do business with DJ Alexanders on a Business to Business level and having had issues trying to contact the Property Manager that was dealing with this I eventually made contact with Kirsty Devlin who I found to be excellent on the phone, understood and was empathetic with my frustrations, then was prepared to take on the responsibility of assisting me with my request and followed them through to the best of her ability.
The 5 Star review I am giving is a reflection on the positive attitude and assistance given by Kirsty Devlin and not the manner in which the business interaction that I had with the company.
Kelsey Mclachlan our property manager is very helpful! She showed us around the flat and answered every question we had. Would highly recommend her.
Searching and renting a flat can be stressful, but working with Eve at DJ Alexander in Edinburgh has been nothing but the opposite. Eve helped us view a new to market property which was perfect for our needs. She was very communicative during the application process and quick when replying to our questions. You could tell she cared about ensuring we found something we were happy with, which we very much did, and are looking forward to moving into another DJ Alexander flat!

Great support from Xavier Au at DJ Alexander
I’d like to thank Xavier Au, Senior Property Relationship Manager at DJ Alexander, for all his help in organising a workman to come and repair an issue in my bathroom. From my very first contact, his response was quick, efficient, and genuinely appreciated. Excellent service.

Very clear and direct communication all the way up to move in. The flat was super clean for us coming and Sana who gave us our keys was very friendly and made everything clear for us.

Fiona Robb, Associate Property Relationship Manager, owned, managed and resolved a long running issue with my property. She kept me proactively informed of progress throughout the process and stepped in on her own initiative to resolve issues when she observed progress was being hampered or impeded. Excellent service.

We couldn't speak more highly of Conor and Ruth from the Glasgow branch. They made it a real joy and ease to sell our flat. Conor and Ruth were both really helpful in answering questions and keeping us updated. Things were super quick in getting moving and they facilitated the viewings around our needs. Thank you for all your work and time in getting our flat sold, you were fantastic!

I would like to provide my feedback and full appreciation about the professionalism and proactivity shown by Miriam Gill, Property Relationship Manager in DJ Alexander, with whom I am dealing with to solve some issues related to the rented apartment.
Her customer nearness and kindness is something that you are going to notice since from the beginning of the conversation.

Awful exoerience.
As a property manager myself, I understand the importance of fair, consistent inventory reports and evidence-based decisions. That’s exactly why this experience was so frustrating.
The whole process felt completely biased from start to finish. Looking at the check-in and checkout reports side by side is shocking. At check-in, almost everything was magically described as “excellent”, despite issues that already existed. By checkout, suddenly nothing seemed to be excellent anymore. It is very difficult to have any confidence in a process that appears so biaised against tenants.
Despite a professional end-of-tenancy clean, photographs and a full video of the property’s condition, it felt like none of it mattered. it seemed as though every possible opportunity was taken to justify deductions from my deposit, even for things that were already present. The flat as we returned it was in better condition than received.
If you’re renting through this company, my advice is to document absolutely everything. Take hundreds of photos, film every room, keep every invoice and don’t assume the inventory report will protect you. You may well need to fight to prove your case, and familiarise yourself with TDS disputes. Don’t let them get away with these thieving procedures.
I would never choose to use them again.

I became a tenant with DJ Alexander by default after they acquired my original letting agency, Margaret Duffus Leasings. Unfortunately, the move-out process has been characterized by significant administrative failures and a lack of clear communication, requiring a considerable expenditure of my own time to rectify.
After providing my 28-day notice, my official tenancy end date was set for May 15th. I informed the agency I would be vacating early on April 22nd, and I formally handed my keys back on April 28th. This early handover was done as a gesture of goodwill to allow them to begin property viewings and administrative work ahead of schedule. The property was left in a clean and tidy condition.
Instead of conducting a timely inspection upon receiving the keys, the agency delayed the check-out process by several weeks. They subsequently proposed a £160 deduction from my deposit for "cleaning," attempting to charge me for light atmospheric dust that had naturally settled in an empty flat. When I formally challenged this—which they attempted to justify by referencing two pages of photos of this dust—I was suddenly informed that I could have returned to collect my keys at any time before May 15th to maintain the property. At no point during the key handover or in the weeks prior to the dispute was this option communicated to me; it was only stated retroactively as an excuse to justify the deduction.
This disorganization has also extended to external administration. I recently discovered that my utility accounts were improperly managed post-handover, leaving me facing three months of utility bills for a period after I had vacated and returned the keys.
The dispute regarding the deposit is currently undergoing formal arbitration through MyDeposits Scotland. The delayed inspections, retroactive policy justifications, and subsequent billing issues have made this an unnecessarily stressful process. I strongly advise prospective tenants to document everything and exercise extreme caution when dealing with this agency's check-out procedures.
