We had the best trekking experience! We booked a 12-day Manaslu Circuit trek, and everything exceeded our expectations.
Our guide, Mansing, was absolutely fantastic. His English was very good, and he had everything under control at all times. Truly the best guide you could wish for!
We were also accompanied by his uncle, who was our porter. He was incredibly kind and always smiling. I have never been more impressed by someone’s strength and endurance—it was amazing to see how effortlessly he carried everything.
We have nothing but positive things to say about both our guide, Mansing, and his uncle. Highly recommended!

We booked 12 days Manaslu trek and everything since beginning was perfect. Hike was clearly explained on briefing, provided sleeping bags, well organized transport by bus and jeep, good selection of accomodations during hike, hot meal 3times per day, fruit and cookies during hike. Well English speaking guide always explain day plan, always positive minded. Truly recommended company for Nepal hikes.

We did the 12-day Manaslu trek with this company and had a great experience from start to finish. The briefing was clear, everything was well organized, and we got sleeping bags for the trek. Transport (bus and jeep) worked smoothly, and the accommodation choices during the hike were very good. We had hot meals three times a day, plus fruit and cookies while trekking, which was a nice touch. Our guide spoke very good English, always explained the daily plan, and stayed positive the whole time. I would definitely recommend this company for trekking in Nepal.

EBC- Everest Base camp:
Can’t put into words how amazing our experience has been in Nepal, trekking the EBC with Mansing & Harka. From the very beginning we were made to feel so welcomed. Throughout our whole experience we’ve shared some incredible and unforgettable memories with Mansing and Harka. Both have made us laugh and smile so much that our cheeks hurt. From singing, dancing, card playing for a chocolate penguin, oreo eating and so much more. Genuinely, both of the nicest and humble pair we’ve met. Constantly looking after us, entertaining us and so much more. The whole journey has been amazing and Nepal has such great culture and views that are truly ‘breathtaking’ haha. Can’t recommend Discovery World Trekking enough. Paul (manger) has always been great with communication and making sure we were safe /happy with our trip. 100% recommend DWT and extremely recommend Mansing and Harka to share your experience.

Our experience trekking to Everest Base Camp was absolutely unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to the incredible team that supported us throughout the journey.

Our guides, Siddhanta and Manish, were simply outstanding. From the very beginning, they were professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. They made sure we felt safe, well-informed, and comfortable at every stage of the trek. Their deep understanding of the mountains, local culture, and trekking conditions gave us great confidence, and they always went above and beyond to ensure everyone in the group was doing well. On top of that, their positive energy and sense of humor made the entire experience even more enjoyable.

We were equally impressed by our porters — Durga, Dorje, and Rinji — who were nothing short of amazing. Their strength, resilience, and dedication were truly inspiring. They always had a smile, and never made it seem like a burden. Their hard work made our trek possible, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they did.

Their kindness, support, and professionalism made this once-in-a-lifetime adventure even more special.

Overall our Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lakes with Discovery World Trekking was very great. Trekking with them saved us a lot of organisational preparation as everything was managed by them: starting with the pickup at Kathmandu's Airport (where we first met our Guide) over the flights to Lukla and the booking of the Tea Houses to the administrative parts at the check points.
Due to weather conditions we had a few small changes in the itinerary, which was managed well, but be prepared for adventurously stepping out of your comfort zone - we slept one night in the car and one trekking day was quite a bit longer than planned (of course adjusted to our fitness).
During the trek our Guide Jagat always took good care of our well being - from giving us cookies and reminding us to drink enough to measuring our blood oxygen and adjusting to our walking speed. One evening he even put out his flute and sang for us. He was very friendly and accommodating. While his English was good enough for basic communication and we had great fun with him we sometimes missed the possibility to have deeper conversations and learn more about the culture.
Our porter Bal Ram was not only a sunny spirit but also had a great talent as DJ - he regularly supported us with great music during walking.
In the background Paul regularly checked on us via phone calls, so we always really felt supported.
While we really loved the simplicity of the Tea Houses - be aware that you will not have a hot shower everywhere. I guess we don't have to mention how amazing the views and the trek itself was. 😉

After experiencing a fantastic trek to the Anapurna Base camp in 2023 we decided to come back to Nepal to complete the Manaslu Trek. Another amazing adventure with Discovery World Trekking. Paul is extremely helpful and thorough and well respected. We asked for the same guide we had on the Anapurna trek, Hari, as he was so brilliant and we were not disappointed. Hari's passion for the trek, love of nature, positive disposition and care for out wellbeing is second to none. You could not ask for a better guide.
The trek is full of stunning scenery: wonderful waterfalls, stunning snow top peaks, glaciers,moraines and marvellous views of the mighty Manaslu mountain. Crossing Larkya la Pass early with the stars guiding our way was magical. We.watched the sunrise and the stars disappear as a rosy hue framed the snowy peaks. An experience which will stay with us forever.

My wife and I booked a private trekking tour with Discovery and we couldn't be happier with the experience. It was clear to us that the owner Paul has every detail right and that the organization is a great environment for the workers and the clients. Our guide Durga Gurung was experienced, professional, motivating, and an overall great guy. We were so impressed by and thankful for the many roles he filled throughout the trek and it was our pleasure to get to know him and Nepal. Our porter Jank Rai was also incredibly kind and went out of his way to make our experience more comfortable. We felt so lucky to have this team! We also felt the private option for our trek was best as it allowed us flexibility to move at our own pace and fulfill the objectives in our way. We chose discovery world trekking to guide us in our fantastic honeymoon. They were so helpful in preparing us and providing a seamless experience from the moment we arrived in Nepal. Our trek to Gokyo and EBC was incredibly enjoyable and successful thanks to our guide Durga Gurung and porter Jank Rai. It was amazing how much work they did to make our experience safe, comfortable, and perfect. With them we learned about the history and customs of Nepal while hiking the beautiful Himalayas. Our guide Durga was so kind and taught us how to stay positive even in the hardest parts of the trek, it was a pleasure to spend time with him and to become friends!
We definitely recommend this trip and especially this team of wonderful people.

We did a trek with discovery, they were very accommodating and were willing to go at our pace as we were slower trekkers. Karcher and Lal our guide and porter were very funny and always willing for a chat. Annapurna base camp and the views there and along the way made the multi trek day worth it.

I did the 5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek. Our guide Jit and porter Gagan were super professional and kept us going along the trek. Paul also kept us well informed before the trip and once we arrived in Kathmandu. Unbelievable scenes once at ABC. Would highly recommend Discovery trekking if wanting to do a base camp trek.

Thank you very much Discovery World Trekking for the most incredible tour! Manish and Bimal were such great guides! They had great knowledge of the Himalaya regions and we had so much fun playing cards and chatting during the trek. The porters Dilip, Nabin and Surya were so impressive and friendly as well. Paul was our main contact through the whole process and he was always so quick to reply and help us out when needed. He even helped us book an Everest Flight after the trek at a very competitive rate. My partner had his birthday on the last day and they organised a mini party with a birthday cake which was much appreciated. Highly recommend the Annapurna Circuit trek - we were lucky with the weather the views were amazing. I would stay a couple more days in Pokhara at the end over Kathmandu as it was a lot nicer (and the locals think so too). Overall a great experience, challenging and rewarding, and the guides helped us the whole through trip. Tea houses and transport were all well organised which allowed us to really focus on our trek and the enjoy the journey.

Our trek with discovery world trekking is something that we will all remember forever. I don’t even know where to begin with giving gratitude to discovery. We chose this company as it looked extremely organised and covered all bases when it came to what we wanted in a trek and they absolutely outdid themselves.
We did the Annapurna circuit trek and our group was a group of 7, we got given guide Dol and assistant guide Bhim, along with the porters Rupesh, Home 1 and Home 2, and Ram, this discovery world team is what made this experience for us.
We all were pretty inexperienced hikers and Dol made us so comfortable, always explained everything for the following day in great detail of what to expect, and when everything was happening, and he was incredibly knowledgeable. Every mountain or river or hill we asked about Dol knew the answer, we had a million questions for him every day and he answered them all in detail. Dol and Bhim made so much effort to make sure we were always comfortable, they checked every time we got to a new accommodation or along the trail if we were happy and comfortable, always offering us beverages and food. The best part about the team is that they were all so much fun. They made this trek so fun and enjoyable, they loved to joke around with us, play cards with us and just share so many amazing chats and conversations.
My experience was particularly special because it was my birthday a few days into the trek. From the morning I woke up the team made me feel so special making sure everyone wished me a happy birthday, we had an amazing day on the trail and we got to our accommodation and the discovery team was extremely hospitable as always. After dinner Dol disappeared into the kitchen and came out with a beautiful cake that said ‘happy birthday Lucy’ with my age in candles and the entire team sung me happy birthday. I never expected anything from them but they went so above and beyond for me.
I later found out the team went as far as to order a cake in the previous town we were in, with my name and age on it, and Rupesh the porter left early, and carried this cake in his hands to the next town (16km away) walking as fast as he could so it didn’t melt, with over 20kg of luggage on his back as well. I can’t express how much this meant to me and it is a birthday I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
Another above and beyond experience from this team when we were walking on one of our first days one of the girls hats blew off into the bush which looked like a place we couldn’t climb to, and Home the porter dropped his porter bag, climbed down and retrieved this hat for us without hesitation.
Some of the people on our trek were a bit sick just due to being overseas and not being used to the food etc. and Dol was genuinely concerned and made sure that they were looked after, getting what they needed and if we didn’t have what they needed he would go out of his way to get it for us. There was multiple times where he went above and beyond to get medicines, deep heat etc. for us.
Paul the discovery world trekking owner kept in contact with us from the day we booked the trek, made sure we had the knowledge and things we needed and also kept in contact with us during the trek.
This was a once in a lifetime experience because of the discovery world trekking team and we all can not recommend them enough, it is such a personal experience to go on this journey with these guides and porters and they really make the journey what it is, as you spend so much time together. By the end it really feels like we were just all friends going on a trek together, we would all listen to Nepali music and dance together, the vibes were to happy the entire trek with these guys you can really tell they love their job and have so much passion for it. We talked every day as a group about how amazing these guys, we didn’t know the guides and porters would become such a huge part of the trip but we are so lucky they did, and we cannot recommend Discovery enough.
We are all so grateful we had Dol as our guide he really made an impact for us and we’ll never forget him.

We just finished our Annapurna Circuit including the Tilicho Lake, an almost 16-day trek. It was an unforgettable experience and a nice challenge!

When trying to find a company to do it with, we almost booked another, but then stumbled across Discovery World Trekking - seeing all the good reviews.

We can say it was the BEST decision to book with them. Right from beginning we could see their experience with making a well prepared and safe journey for us.

Paul was very professional from the start on and helped us with PDF guides, checklists and a preparation call. At times he seemed a bit busy due to the high season, but he still helped with every additional question.

When we arrived in Kathmandu, we were picked up by our future guide and brought to the Hotel we were staying. I am mentioning this because throughout the journey it was so relaxing to literally have everything cared for. DWT thought of everything from beginning to end and kept surprising us with little nice gestures (e.g. our favorite snacks, a cake, etc.) Another plus is also the flexibility of them adjusting plans when one of us wasn’t feeling well.

A special shoutout to our Guide “Dev” and our strong porter “Nabaraj”! Truly the best company you can wish for. Dev was very experienced and could tell us a lot of things about the area and hiking in higher altitudes in general.

On top of that both were:
+ very attentive during the trek, always making sure we have everything we needed
+ approachable and friendly
+ well equipped with an Oxymeter etc. to take 100% care of our well being in high altitude
+ we liked that we had an planning talk for the next day after every dinner
+ we felt like they were really proud of their company and had fun doing the trek themselves

All in all, I can say the reviews didn’t lie and we can highly recommend booking with Discovery World Trekking - we even met other groups that had booked with them and they were all very happy.

Amazing experience, organised by Discovery World Trekking. Paul was so responsive during organisation and preparation, and his team (Manis + Bimal) were amazing throughout the trek. Our group of 6 always felt safe and had no issues, with the guides and porters always making sure we had the best experience. Would highly recommended to anyone looking for a new experience in Nepal.

I did a 14 day trek to the summit of island peak with discovery world trekking and had an amazing experience. From initially booking the trip, communication was excellent, the company are very professional and easy to deal with. Our guide, Phurba, was fantastic! His knowledge of the local area was excellent, treks and everything in between was all well planned and he even taught us some Nepali phrases. For our summit attempt he was also very supportive and no doubt contributed to our success. Our porter, Dan, was also excellent, very friendly and handled our luggage very carefully. I was also very impressed with how flexible the company was, when weather was unfavourable and a member of my party was sick, the itinerary and accommodation was changed for us without any hassle to keep the trip flowing smoothly
I would recommend Discovery World Trekking to anybody considering island peak or another trek in the Himalayas

I cannot stress enough how impressive a company Discovery World Trekking is. For our group of five, we had Dull and Nir as our guide and assistant guide, and 3 porters Rupe, Duhgar and Ram. We researched relentlessly in to trekking companies before committing to DWT, but even so, we could not have hoped for a better team and service than DWT provided us with. Our experience with them was fabulous from start to finish. They were professional, experienced, and incredibly attentive. They ensured everything ran smoothly, and nothing was a problem, everything was done with big smiles. Paul who manages the company leads by example, he responds rapidly to queries, and checks in regularly throughout the trip to make sure we were happy. The experience of the team was evident from navigating the route, dealing with mountain challenges, baggage transport, and accommodation options, to the daily little personal touches that made the trip feel extra special. We had complete trust in the team, and we couldn’t have had half the experience we’d had without them! I can certainly say that I’m sad it’s over and will miss our daily briefs, schedules, and jokes!
