The internet is full of gemstone files. Most come from anonymous designers, with one photo and no data. You can’t tell whether that round brilliant is really a round brilliant, or how it will perform in the stone you plan to cut. We built Digital Gemology to fix that. Every design is constructed from its angles, cross-checked across every file format, and open to testing before you buy. Every design is built from its angles, and every file comes from that one construction: STEP, 3DM, STL, OBJ, GLB and FBX for 3D work, and for cutting, the .asc file with its tier CSV and printable diagram.

A fantastic resource for anyone passionate about gemstones and faceting

I’m genuinely impressed by Digital Gemology. As someone getting deeper into gemstone faceting, I find the combination of precise cutting data, accurate 3D models and interactive tools incredibly valuable.

What really stands out is the attention to detail. The cutting files, tier tables and 3D models are all based on the same exact geometry, which makes the whole approach feel extremely well thought out and trustworthy. Being able to explore different cuts and actually see and analyse their optical performance in the 3D simulator is both fascinating and genuinely useful.

I also really appreciate the mixture of classic, historical and original cuts. You can clearly see that a lot of knowledge, passion and technical work has gone into this project.

For me, Digital Gemology is one of those rare websites that manages to be technically sophisticated while still being inspiring and enjoyable to explore. I’m very excited to see how the platform develops and what new cuts and tools will be added in the future.

Highly recommended for faceters, gemstone enthusiasts and jewellery designers!
