Bought a one time 10 day vignette in February.
I know see that they have been repeatedly charging me 12.80 each month.
I did not buy a membership so it makes no sense to me that they do that. It's basically fraud. watch out.

Very bad experience
Very bad experience. I purchased only a 10-day vignette, but I later discovered that my payment card was charged again at the beginning of the following month without any clear warning or explicit consent for a subscription or automatic renewal.

Very bad experience - edit*
Very bad experience. I purchased a 10-day vignette only, but I later discovered that my payment card was charged again at the beginning of the following month without any clear warning or explicit consent for a subscription or automatic renewal.
At no point during the purchase process was it made sufficiently clear that this was a recurring charge. I believed I was making a one-time payment for a short-term vignette, not signing up for any ongoing service.
Only after the unexpected additional charge did it become apparent that an automatic renewal had been activated. In my view, this is not transparent enough for an average customer and can easily lead to confusion.
I have requested a refund and cancellation of any future charges.
I do not recommend this service. If you choose to use it, make sure to carefully read all terms, as the billing setup may result in unexpected renewals and charges.
----- edit ----
After I submitted a complaint, the company refunded the charge, which I appreciate and consider a positive aspect of their customer service. However, I still believe that the company's policy of automatically enrolling customers into a monthly subscription is inappropriate, especially when purchasing a 10-day vignette.
Frankly, it makes little sense. A 10-day vignette is intended for short-term use. Why would a customer want to automatically purchase a new 10-day vignette every month, covering only the first 10 days of each month? This subscription model does not appear to match the typical needs or expectations of customers buying a short-duration vignette.
While I appreciate that the refund was processed, I believe the subscription terms should be made much more explicit and should require a separate, clear opt-in from the customer rather than being included by default.

Scam
Scam!
I paid for a 12 day vignette. I did not know that I paid for a monthly subscription, and it was not visible that it is actually a subscription. Beware!

Beware: 10‑Day Vignette Turns Into Unclear Monthly Subscription
I purchased what I believed to be a standard 10-day Austrian vignette for a specific trip. Months later, I discovered that I had been enrolled in a recurring monthly subscription and had been charged for three consecutive months.
What concerns me most is that the purchasing process did not make the recurring nature of the subscription sufficiently clear. When buying a product that is valid for only 10 days, most consumers reasonably expect a one-time purchase, not an ongoing monthly commitment.
This was not an isolated misunderstanding. Two friends who travelled with me, each in their own vehicle and making separate purchases, experienced exactly the same issue and were also surprised to find recurring charges on their cards later.
After contacting customer service, the company cancelled the subscription and refunded only the most recent monthly charge as a gesture of goodwill, while refusing to refund the earlier charges.
I appreciate the cancellation and partial refund, but I remain dissatisfied with how the subscription is presented during the purchasing process. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone using this website to carefully review every step of the checkout process and verify whether a recurring subscription is being added before completing the purchase.

This company is a complete fraud
This company is a complete fraud. I ordered the 10-Day Vignette Austria for my car through their service.
There was absolutely nothing in the order confirmation document that would indicate any recurring order for 10-day vignettes. In spite of this, they have been invoicing the credit card for the following months of May and June. To further confuse the customer, they spammed me with e-mails which look like "save 2 e"-offers for new 10-day vignettes while the recurring invoices were running in the background.
UPDATE: The company refunded the June invoice, for which I am grateful. Otherwise I do not wish to redact any of the above review. It is true that had I been really carefully reading the fine print on the Digitale Vignette mobile site, I could have noticed that instead of ordering a single 10-day vignette, I was about to order a really strange product: recurring monthly advance payment for 10-day vignettes. However, this was not clear from the order confirmation. This is a classic example of "dark patterns" in online commerce. With 30 years experience in online commerce both as a customer and a site developer one should have been more careful.

AVOID SCAM
AVOID! Paid for a week in Austria, and afterwards discovered that they subscribed me to buy the same weekly vignette every month without any notice! No invoice or any other communication for you to know that you are being charged.
When contacted they refused to issue refund for the last 5 months even though vignettes aren’t activated, obviously. Sending automated emails sating that nothing will be refunded that was already purchased. AVOID BY ALL MEANS

Be very careful with this company!
Be very careful when purchasing a digital vignette from this company. What appeared to be a one-time purchase turned out to be a recurring subscription, and my card was charged for months without me noticing. I never received any email notifications about renewals, upcoming charges, or subscription payments.
A transparent company should clearly inform customers about recurring charges and provide renewal reminders before billing. The lack of communication and clarity is extremely disappointing. I recommend checking your bank statements carefully if you have used this service.

Digitale Vignette Scam
Like lots of other people, purchased what I thought was a one time 10 day motorway vignette ( NOT AVAILABLE HERE ) from govt site for Austria, found myself being charged monthly for the same thing.
No confirmation emails, just quiet monthly deductions until notification from credit card company, nothing from Digitale Vignette. Set up to harvest cash.
Asked for refund as they suggested, silence.

Misleading Pricing and Unauthorized Charges
Be aware of the way Digitale-Vignette online portal is advertising there services. On April 18, 2026, I purchased a 10-day digital vignette for my vehicle (License Plate: known to DV) via DV portal. My travel through Austria concluded on April 25, 2026, and the vignette expired on April 27, 2026. Their platform uses highly misleading "dark patterns" and non-transparent terminology. Labeling a recurring monthly subscription as a "Flatrate" without clear, explicit, and unambiguous upfront warnings that a permanent monthly contract is being initiated violates EU consumer protection laws regarding transparent pricing and informed consent. I did not knowingly or willingly sign up for a continuous monthly subscription. So despite the fact that I just passed through Austria in April, Digitale-Vignette portal continued to charge my account every month. They labeld their service "Flat rate" which doesn't mean at all continious and recuring monthly charge. Morover on their site, particulary on the "flat rate" ordering page, there is no warning or clear and transparent information that it is monthly recuring charge. This raises a strong suspicion that this online sales method is deliberately organized to mislead customers and charge them additionally for services they will never use.

Thieves and fraudsters...report them
Thieves and fraudsters...report them to all relevant authorities. European Consumer Centre (ECC) and the Austrian VKI for deceptive business practices.
Also initiate a chargeback dispute through bank for fraud, which will flag their merchant account with Visa/Mastercard. Ask through your bank to block your card and ask for the return of all funds that you did not authorize but were stolen from you. You will get money and you will hurt them by paying fraud penalties and eventually Visa/Mastercard will abandon them. True.

Hidden monthly payments included
One-time purchase of a 10-day vignette suddenly turned out to be a monthly subscription that's terms are hidden somewhere in contract. The first mention of monthly payments appears on page 5 only.
