Very high cancellation fees
Wow, Desjardins insurance are a bunch of scammers! They hit me with a $898 cancellation fee when I canceled my insurance.
When I asked them to explain what was their cancellation policy, they could not point to it.
Very Helpful Agents
Very helpful. Especially their agents at "40 Wynford Dr. Unit 205, North York, ON M3C 1J5". Extremely satisfied with their services. They have been very professional and always considerate.
If I could give this company zero stars…
If I could give this company zero stars I would. I am supporting my elderly fixed income father on an autombile insurance claim. This a small claim.
In the thousands, NOT 10's of thousands. Desjardins immediately after the incident advised my father they were going to repair the vehicle after a branch fell on the car during a severe storm event. They have since retracted the offer to repair and have been putting my father and I thorugh the ringer ever since which is months now without settlement. I have documented pages and pages of correspondence and process. I won't provide all the details here but if you are interested feel free to reach out and I can share. At the end of the day, the summary thus far is that this company DOES NOT support its policy holders in the event of a claim. So think twice about who you insure your home and vehicle with before choosing a provider. I will do everything in my power to NEVER have to deal with this company EVER again. I will share my well dcoumented story with anyone that cares to ask so as to assist them in avoiding this same anguish.
VERY RUDE
VERY RUDE customer service!
We have been looking for a reliable insurance company that offers preventative care coverage. We reached out twice today to Desjardins - first to get the basic information and then to register. The customer rep was pleasant and patient as we worked through the website glitches and finally registered. Then we were asked if we had any other questions. When we were working through the questions that we had and what the process was that was expected from us moving forward, we were told by Zachary that he had other calls he needed to make before he got off shift and that he needed to go. Lesson learned? Customer care is not a priority for this company - getting in the day's quota of new customers is.
Worst customer service stay away
I'm being charged monthly payments since last 3 months for a car that I no longer own or have possession of since last year October. My insurance company confirmed the encashed cheque by Desjardins. After several failed attempts (of over 30 minutes) to contact them via phone I've not been able to reach them.
They have the worst customer service…
They have the worst customer service and are very careless about their client, I believe it's time for me to switch as well.
they don't even bother themselves to return your call or give you proper information.
recently very unhappy with their service

Wonderful experience
Wonderful experience, my sister works there and she says they are awesome. You are not kept on hold for hours like some companies. They bought out State Farm Insurance and my sister says what a difference (in a good way). I have life insurance, benefits from them and have found their customer service is awesome. Highly recommend. Might switch my banking over to them too heard they are pretty good at finance!
Desjardins insurance is HORRIBLE
Use Desjardins for our car insurance. They are so over priced and never let us know when our year is up. Husband called to ask when it renews, and the customer service person informed us it happened last week. When he asked her how much would it be to cancel and she gave us the amount he stated, "guess I'm stuck with you another year then". When she asked "stuck?" He said "yes your service is awful, I cant wait to cancel" she said "whatever" and promptly hung up the phone. Wow just speechless
Best bank for student
I really realise that this bank or corporation (whatever) is the best for a student. They never charge you unknown fees. They gave me the best price for insurance of my car and the apartment i am renting.
Even with 7.5K as a limit in my credit card.
I just wanna say that this bank is perfect.. they keep helping student, I will never change it when I will have more money.
stay away from this "bank"...terrible customer service, lack of transparency, lies...
long story short: I had a mortgage with Desjardins. I decided to sell due to loss of income during the pandemic. I was told I had to pay a penalty to cancel the mortgage early. It is stated in the contract that the penalty is to cover their loss of earnings. I explained that in my case, the new buyers are legally obliged to use the same bank for their mortgage (QC law) and that I knew their loan would be significantly higher than mine was, so there is no loss of earnings for the bank, in fact a significant financial gain. I was told by my representative, a manager and second manager that it didn't matter and i still had to pay the penalty. I was told the amount of the penalty which seemed quite high to me. I asked to see their calculations. They REFUSED to show them! They kept repeating that if i put in 15% of my loan amount in cash, that it would reduce the penalty. This is after I explained that I'm selling my home due to loss of income. I did the calculations of the penalty myself and the result was HALF the amount they quoted me. I kept asking to see how they calculated the penalty. They kept refusing to show the numbers! After almost 2 months of calls and emails back and forth, they finally admitted they made a mistake in the calculation, but still could not show me the calculations that led to the mistake. There were 4 different representatives privy to these emails, and none of them corrected the mistake until a couple days before my closing date.
They routinely waited a week to respond to my questions. On one occasion I waited 2 weeks to hear back from them. All in all, quite a terrible experience.
