What made my experience great was the warm welcome I received, the delicious reasonable priced (not as expensive as some of the surrounding coffee shops)Cappuccino with a delicious chocolate on the side. Snacks, cakes, upstairs extra seating.Also, seating outside when weather nice! There are toilets, but down some steps, and not really suitable for someone too disabled.
We have visited this restaurant three times now and have always found it to be a very enjoyable experience. They make our dog very welcome, the food is lovely and very reasonably priced and the staff are friendly and helpful. We look forward to many more visits there. If we lived nearer to Eastbourne we would go more often!
Went to deliciously gorgeous in Eastbourne today at lunchtime, can honestly say this was the worst cafe I've ever been to, ordered two coffees one was acceptable the other stone cold and weak. Then we ordered two sandwiches, 40 minutes later we were still waiting, went to complain the chef came running up the stairs waving her arms about and asking us to leave because we complained we said okay but refund us first then the manger came down and said a 40 minute wait was acceptable. could not believe what I heard so we left all the stuff where arrogant and rude. It wasn't just us another couple waited 45 minutes for their food when it arrived it was completely charred and was inedible. No Apologies or anything not agood way to run a cafe

We are all sorry for your poor experience at our cafe.
It would have been nice if you had not stretched the facts.
You did wait 30 minutes for your food.
I did say that this was acceptable considering how busy we were.
The chef was in fact a man and did not wave his hands at anyone because he was busy trying to prepare the orders after he had injured his back, which was why it was so slow today.
The only person arrogant and rude was you. It is never acceptable to raise your voice and swear at any member of staff in any establishment.
Sometime we get it wrong and today was one of them. This does not give you the right to abuse our staff.
I apologised at least twice about the situation, but you did not apologise for your abusive behaviour.
The other couple were also refunded but they were able to express themselves without being abusive.
We may have ruined your lunch which I am sorry about, but you ruined the day of all of the members of staff you shouted at, including the 18 year old that had to go to the staff room to cry.
You sir, need a class or two in anger management.
We have now had several afternoon teas here. One was full priced and two with groupon. Regardless we had the same drinks, food and service...all of which were excellent. The sandwiches were freshly made and had lovely fillings. We had vegetarian and our companions non vegetarian. The scones were fresh and tasty and the cakes were also light and tasty. We had a drink before and after the food. I had milkshake which was delicious, iced coffee was apparently very nice as was the pot of tea afterwards. The staff are friendly but do seem to be too busy to cater properly for their customers. We did have to wait rather a long time for drinks, food etc. The seating is comfy and relaxed, not cramped at all. Overall, an excellent afternoon and very good value. Thank you
