Love the concept, but…
I love the concept of getting through books I would not normally read quickly, however, I am unclear on how to update my algorithm or search for books I want, rather than what DeepStash wants me to read. I am considering cancelling.

Avoid subscribing
I was going to let this one slide after they offered me a free 7 months once my card had been charged without me knowing, however, the experience with customer support was somewhat passive aggressive and simply off-putting.
I felt like they were happy they got 20 odd dollars out of me and that's it. Theres not an ounce of consideration of the customer; it's just 'those are the conditions, you should have known'.
Terrible experience overall. Would avoid.

There is absolutely nothing worthwhile about Deepstash whatsoever. It's simply an attempt to cash-in on people realising that they have an attention problem.

Ok concept, but easy way to make money off customers
I like the concept of the app, hence why I paid for first few months but the content was hit/miss. It auto renewed outside of any usual subscription management that runs in my Google Play account and therefore lapsed. The same day it renewed, I emailed politely asking if they could honour a refund as £50/year is a fairly costly app I did not have budget for, and they just said that I had agreed to those on signing up so cannot be done. I emailed again explaining I understand that but would be grateful for them to politely honour this request given my limited use of the app but no reply.
Not a great way to run an app in my opinion. Felt like an easy way to make money off me with no customer support.

Deceptive billing practices - Stay far away from this app
Stay far away from this app. My subscription was renewed for $50 without a single warning or notification. To make matters worse, the payment isn't even registered under my Google account subscriptions, making it intentionally difficult to track or cancel. It feels like a trap designed to drain your wallet. On top of the predatory billing, the app itself is completely worthless, zero inspiration and zero value. Save your money and your sanity.

Unwanted subscription and no way of cancelling it
I have been trying to get in touch with their customer service for days (emails and Instagram - I can’t find a customer service number to call). All my emails/messages have been ignored. My experience is the same as others here - I was sure I had subscribed for the trail only, there was no subscription in my Apple account or direct debit on my cards so I assumed I was not subscribed beyond the trail. But sadly I was charged for another 3 months a few days ago and I have to way of cancelling the subscription (I deleted the app weeks ago and don’t have my login details so don’t know how to get back on my profile). I will have to speak to my bank to ensure no further payments are authorised. Very disappointing

Title: Fast and reliable customer support
I experienced a technical issue with the app where I couldn’t access any books after finishing the first one, everything appeared empty.
I contacted support and they responded very quickly, acknowledged the issue, and immediately issued a full refund along with a complimentary month.
The problem was then resolved by reinstalling the app, as suggested by their team.
Overall, very positive experience with customer support: fast, helpful, and fair in handling the situation.

You can get a refund if you don't like the app
I bought the app and tried it but didn't like it so I contacted the customer support which was very friendly and helpful. They quickly sent me the refund when I requested it.

If I could give this company negative stars I would. This is a scam. That’s all you need to know. Stay away. Their trial is BS. They make it hard to cancel and then refuse to refund even when you haven’t used their product even once. Stay away!!!

Meeting expectations would've required me to even know what your app does, which I don't. The 1.5 overall review rating says everything anyone needs to know about your company and product: it's TRASH!

Deepstash support unavailable but they took my money
I've used Deepstash a year ago to try it out. The results were not as expected, the quality of the summaries and voice was too low for me to learn from it. So I cancelled the subscription. Never received a confirmation of the cancellation.
Last Monday € 102 was taken from my account via Apple Pay, while I had set to charge my creditcard via Deepstash's Stripe account. I was unable to view and/or cancel any subscription (again) from Deepstash's website. This was only avaible via the app. I downloaded the app again and cancelled my account again. Still no confirmation of cancellation.
Deepstash doesn't offer phone support. Tuesday I sent screenshots and a request to refund and confirm cancellation. Didn't receive any reply. Wednesday I mailed again, still no reply on today (Saturday).
BE AWARE: Deepstash charges you outside of the Apple App store, so the subscription is not visible in your iCloud account. Deepstash is able to charge you whatever they want, whenever they want. Apple cannot protect you. As I read below these cases are being solved, but I am sure that many people don't even notice they get charged.
Deepstash also doesn't confirm continuation of the subscription nor sends you a confirmation of the charge, nor sends you a confirmation offer to cancel. This is what to expect.
So via this way I want Deepstash and Apple to get their administration in order and respect your clients! This is not how you treat people well.
Hope I can reach the Deepstash support via this way and that you can refund my € 102 and close my account. I've sent you another request via email.

Correcting my review as issue was resolved, and customer service was helpful.. After we confirmed cancellation of subscription, I was charged. However after emailing they responded quickly and customer service was helpful and got my refund back so updating my review.

Lack of Accountability and Non-Existent Email Support
I want to express my utter disbelief on this platform.
I went over board to submit my previous review on this platform. I am here to write again since the issue is not yet resolved.
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of follow-through regarding my refund. Despite being promised a return of my funds over 10 days ago, I have received nothing. Support has completely stopped responding to my emails, and it seems they only engage once a public complaint is made. I am now forced to escalate this as a formal dispute. Aside from the poor service, the content itself is underwhelming. Save your money and beware

I didn’t use this app at all
I am writing to warn others about the predatory subscription practices of Deepstash (Brainstash, Inc.). I signed up for a 7-day free trial through what I believed was a standard Apple App Store process. However, the company deliberately bypasses Apple’s subscription management system, making the subscription 'invisible' in iOS settings and preventing users from cancelling through standard, transparent channels.
When I was unexpectedly charged $69, I contacted the company via email within SEVEN MINUTES of the transaction to explain the technical confusion and request a refund.
Despite my immediate outreach and zero usage of the app, they refused a refund. Instead, they attempted to 'bargain' by offering free years of the service and then a 50% refund—tactics clearly designed to avoid returning funds for a service I did not want and could not easily cancel.
This company lacks a contact phone number and relies on scripted email stalls to keep customer money. I have filed a formal dispute with my bank. Prospective users should stay away; they make it easy to sign up but intentionally difficult to leave.
