I made an appointment to visit my local…

I made an appointment to visit my local Kia Dealer in Burton and wish I hadn't bothered.

Even though I'd made an appointment I was told I'd have to wait as the salesman had three appointments to complete before mine.

Plus one of the vehicles I was interested in had been sold.

What a complete waste of time and effort.

I'd not recommend them at all.

⚠️ Sharing my experience with RRG Kia…

⚠️ Sharing my experience with RRG Kia Bury (for awareness)

I drive a 2020 Kia e-Niro and had an annual service & MOT done at RRG Kia Bury on 10/3.

After collecting the car, I noticed unusual noises which became louder over the next few days. I returned on 23/3, and the technician confirmed the noise during a test drive but advised they could not identify the cause at the time. I was told the car was safe to continue driving.

On 29/3, while driving, I experienced a serious issue and stopped the car immediately. Upon inspection:
• 3 out of 5 wheel studs were broken
• The remaining wheel nuts were loose

AA attended and advised it was fortunate the vehicle was stopped when it was.

The car was taken to another Acorn Kia for inspection. Based on their findings, the issue was related to wheel nut tightening - clearly a human error. They quoted at least £1,500 for repairs.

I contacted RRG Kia Bury and later their head office with the details and supporting documents. They responded that they were not responsible and did not arrange to inspect the vehicle.

In the end, I had to a tow myself and repair the car at a local garage. The repair costed me £800, not including lost income from being unable to work.

After the repair, the noise I previously reported was no longer present. This proves that the earlier noise was caused by loose wheel nuts.

I am sharing this as a factual account of my experience. Please make your own judgement and take care when arranging servicing at RRG Kia Bury.

Awful experience

Before collection of a 2026 Kia Sportage, communication was poor and we repeatedly had to chase for updates myself. Important changes, including collection date moving from Friday to Saturday, were not proactively communicated and only found out through an automated email.

During the sales process, customer service also felt unapproachable and lacking in genuine interest compared to how other customers appeared to be treated.

The most serious issue happened on the day of collection. Shortly after leaving the dealership and joining the M1, the vehicle broke down. It then broke down a second time on the M1 and a third time shortly afterwards on the A5. Each time the car stopped accelerating completely and displayed a red warning light, creating an extremely dangerous situation. All with under 30 miles on the clock.

The RAC attended but could not identify the issue roadside, and due to the location the police also became involved to make the area safe. For a vehicle collected only moments earlier, this was completely unacceptable.

While returning the purchased vehicle in limp mode with the RAC following behind, a stone cracked the windscreen. I appreciate bad luck happens, but was left disappointed by the response when reporting it, including laughter during the conversation, which felt dismissive and unprofessional given the circumstances.

The courtesy car later also suffered a cracked windscreen during use. Kia initially quoted a £250 excess and later agreed a “middle ground” of retaining the £100 deposit, which should already have been returned long before this agreement, and the approximately £70 we had spent on petrol in the purchased vehicle.

There were also multiple jokes made during what was clearly a stressful situation, including “try not to break this one” when collecting the courtesy car. No member of management came to speak with us directly throughout the entire situation.

Communication afterwards remained poor and I again had to repeatedly chase for updates. We have now exercised the right to reject the vehicle due to the severity and immediacy of the faults experienced.

To make matters worse, we also received two separate letters containing my personal information through the post without envelopes, raising concerns around privacy and data handling.

Overall, this experience has been stressful, inconvenient and far below what I would expect from a main dealership.

Kia Coulsdon.

I got my car MOT’d today at Kia in Coulsdon, and the gentleman I dealt with, Tim, was such a helpful, polite, patient and considerate man. While I was waiting for my car I was near to where he was dealing with customers and he was extremely nice and professional at all times, even with a more difficult customer. It was such a pleasure to have been served by him.

Whats the point in a seven year warranty if you won't even look at the faults!
Three year old low mileage KIA, serviced with KIA and kept in pristine condition. I started having issues with the car stalling at junctions/traffic lights, lack of power and what felt like the turbo not functioning. Reported numerous times and nothing was done to rectify this. Sold the KIA and bought a Mazda, it feels like such a well built car in comparison. KIAs have a long warranty and lots of equipment but the engines and quality just isn't there from my experience.

Fantastic sales person- Norman Greatorex

Fantastic experience purchasing a car from Norman! Genuine and honest sales person, who didn't try and sell me the world. The car sold itself! His approach was just to be honest and then the customer will make an informed decison. No trying to sneak in anything hidden in the deal. Lovely person! Brilliant at his job.

Disappointing customer service at Kia Bolton Dealership

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the service I received at your Bolton Kia Dealership. Upon arrival, I was ignored for a significant amount of time and only received assistance after I specifically requested it. It was concerning that I only appeared to be prioritized once my mobility requirements were mentioned. I felt that my casual attire may have influenced the initial lack of professionalism. Given the reputation of your brand, I expected a much higher standard of proactive and inclusive service, and this experience has made me reconsider my purchase.

Any potential buyers please be aware…

Any potential buyers please be aware because the after service is nowhere as good as when they are selling your car and taking your money. Please cross the i and cross the T's when buying from these people as I will never go back to them.
I purchased a new Kia Sportage GT line S in good faith and only after a few days l started getting warning lights coming on. I was told it's because of the weather??? I went away flabbergasted. Then the collision system just came on suddenly and sharply stop the car on five occasions. I took the car back and they said that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle that that was just the way it was. I've had cars for many years and never had this problem. I only had this car 5 weeks and said I wanted to return it for full refund which they would not do so I ended up selling it back to them losing £5,000 in 5-6 weeks. Also I paid £449 for a service plan and again I'm struggling to get this money back. I complained directly to Kia and they did not want to take any responsibility. Sending me back to Kia Peterborough who also do not want to take any responsibility which I think is absolutely disgraceful.

Portsmouth Kia Dealership - avoid!!!!

Portsmouth Kia dealership - AVOID, AWFUL CUSTOMER CARE.

The customer service in this dealership was terrible. I was passed around 3 colleagues, Holly, Stuart and the manager. None of them responded, I still to this date I have an outstanding query and despite numerous phone calls and emails I hear nothing back. I've now given up.

Due to the lack of responses, I would never buy a kia again. This was the first time I had bought a Kia and I've leanrt my lessons. A response to my query is the least I would expect and to be ignored is not acceptable.

In contrast Nathan and the Kia newbury dealership could not do enough to assist, fantastic support in contrast to the Portsmouth dealership.

KIA Bletchley Service Team

Booked my Picanto in with the team at KIA Bletchley for a service. Found the online booking service really straight forward and was able to get it in with two weeks. I have a disability and when checking in at the Service Centre the Reception Team could not have been more helpful and accommodating. By the end of the day I had a link to the service schedule with a short video taken by the mechanic who serviced the vehicle with her observations - really nice touch and transparent. They looked into an electrical issue that I’d identified and put the vehicle on a rolling road to check. The issue was rectified and no charge was made - again, a really nice touch and a great example of going above and beyond. I will definitely be using them again.

Not only was in booked in promptly but repaired just as quickly (all new glow plugs fitted) “BUT” it was covered under the fantastic and comprehensive warranty? Vehicle is 6 years old by the way?
What amazing service and support that is.
Special thanks go to Amy in the service department and all the mechanics supporting this service, much kudos.
